DEFINITE ARTICLES

• Definite articles translate “the”.

• The feminine definite articles come before feminine nouns: la, las

• The masculine definite articles come before masculine nouns: el, los

INDEFINITE ARTICLES

• Indefinite articles translate “a / an” in the singular and “some / any” in the plural.

• The feminine indefinite articles come before feminine nouns: una, unas

• The masculine indefinite articles come before masculine nouns: un, unos

• When an unmodified noun follows ser or a form of ser, do NOT use an article in Spanish.
