• Modified European design– Adapted for harsh temperatures of upper
Midwest– Total (complete) mix, continuous flow digester
• Mesophilic in operation (~100oF)• Heated vessel to maximize methanogenic
bacteria growth• Low energy use via timed mixing events

Idaho – Rock Creek Project
• Three dairy sites, approx 12,000 hd.• Connecting all three dairies via pipeline
– Use manure for digestion, return post separation for manure management
• Six digestion vessels, six million gallons• Nutrient removal post digestion, chemical
– 90% Phosphorus– 30% Nitrogen
