Post Title School Sport Internship (Manor School Sports College)

Hours 1-2 days per week (Flexible by arrangement)

Location Manor School Sports College

Reports To School Sport Manager

Service Area Northamptonshire Sport – Public Health and Wellbeing

Purpose Of Post To support the Wellingborough & East Northants School Sport Partnership to deliver training and monitor the impact of Primary Change4Life Sports Clubs

TASKS:

1. To work with the School Sport Manager to assist in the training and assessment of Primary Change4Life Sports Clubs

2. To set up regular meetings with PE Co-ordinators and Playground Supervisors involved with Change4Life Sports Clubs in Primary Schools

3. To assist in the planning of Celebration events for Primary Change4Life Sports Clubs

4. To assist in monitoring and evaluation of Primary Change4Life Sports Clubs and creation of case studies of good practice

5. To support the delivery of Sainsbury’s School Games Competitions and leadership training

6. To assist in updating data on the Sainsbury’s School Games website

7. To update the Northamptonshire Sport website and social media with relevant information and case studies

8. To ensure that work is undertaken inline with Northamptonshire County Council and Northamptonshire Sport policies and procedures (Data protection, Health and Safety, Risk Assessment, Equal Opportunities, Safeguarding)

9. To attend and engage in any specific training relevant to the role

PERSON SPECIFICATION

Skills, Knowledge and Experience Essential Desirable

Degree or BTEC in the field of Sports Development, Coaching, Physical Education or related subject

Good IT skills with a knowledge of a range of office different computer packages (e.g. Word, Excel)

A good standard of written English ✔Experience of writing for media (eg. web, school magazine) ✔Good communication and inter-personal skills ✔The ability to work effectively as part of a team and on own initiative ✔Knowledge and experience of social media ✔Knowledge of the Change4Life campaign ✔Experience of coaching or leading an after-school club or competition ✔Willingness to work occasional evenings ✔Able and willing to travel readily to a variety of work related locations ✔
