Thursday, October 25: 5:30 P.M. Childcare for Auction,
open at the 4-H Building, until end of live auction. Certified childcare provider, Deanne McCarthy will be in charge, assisted by Karley Volrath. $5 per child for the evening. Pizza and snacks provided.

Christine Garrow has received some reading times from the staff at Fillmore Elementary, Davenport. The Rotary volunteers would sit with an individual child and help them sound out words and sentences in books. A lot of these children do not receive any help at home. The grade levels (so far) are: First, Second and Fourth. BUT FIRST: Christine needs your completed Volun-teer form, for the Davenport Schools, so they can do a back-ground check. The form must be complete with social security number and a copy of your current driver’s license or passport. These can be returned to Christine at the Eldridge Library or at any meeting. Dennis and Lorraine Lynch will also accept them. Signups will begin November 2, so please, get your volunteer form completed, so we are ready to go with volunteers.

The 50/50 drawing of $131 this week was won by Sheila Volrath. She spent $100 on the caramel apple pie made by Lori Rochau.
Bill Tubbs bought a pumpkin for the DG for $70, Fred Mulch bought the coconut for $70 and Rob White paid $140 for another lem-
on meringue.
Fred Mulch matched the $70 for the educa:on fund, as Illinois is doing so badly this season that he never had to pay any fines.
Sco, Case gave $10 to brag about his granddaughter Maddie, who has been out winning all the running compe::ons and Adam
Kerns gave $20 to announce that he has accepted a new job with Ruhl Insurance and will be moving to Burlington in a month.
DG Terry Geiger from Decatur County told about the shoe project that he has, in hopes to collect as many pairs as there are Rotari-
ans in D6000, to send to children, teens and adults in South Africa. Most of them have no shoes. He also men:oned the Rotary
fellowships that most people don’t know about and said that we need peace on the local level to obtain world peace.
