Say enough!
Thank you to all of our parents who have made the time to speak with their child’s teacher. All of our students have been making progress this year and it is a wonderful opportunity for them to show you what they are working on and what they have achieved throughout the year so far. If you have missed out on an appointment and would still like to have one, just contact your child’s teacher and they will make an appoint-ment with you.
NAPLAN results for Years 3 and 5 will be sent home next week. If you would like to discuss your child’s NAPLAN report, please contact your child’s teacher or me and we will be happy to meet with you.

Our PBL spotlight for the next fortnight is "Say Enough" and as part of what we
are doing at school, we encourage you to talk to your children about the following:
1. Simply saying "enough" to people who are not doing the right thing so they un-
derstand they need to stop what they are doing
2. Be an upstander rather than a bystander to a situation that is not right
3. Doing the right thing even if you feel pressured by your peers to do something
that you know is wrong

On Tuesday the 17th of September, 3/4B enjoyed the snowfall by going out to have a play in it, make a snowman and some snow angels.
After they had a play the students wrote an Information Report about 'Snow in Spring'.
What is snow?
Snow is made of water that has been
turned in to a crystal in a cloud. Snow
comes down and starts melting and
turns back to water.
Temperature
In Goulburn the temperature is currently
is 1 degree in Goulburn, but it feels like
-3 degrees cold.
At night it dropped to 0 degrees.
Snow fall
There was 10-15 centimetres of
snow it was a lot. The snow was
very thick.
By Iylah 3/4B
On the 17-9-19 it was snowing in Goulburn.
It was pure white but when people were
playing with it, it got dirty .
Temperature
On the 16-9-19 it was about 20 degrees but
overnight it dropped down to 0 degrees. In
the morning it was snowing.
Snow fall
The snow was 10-15 centimetres thick. Snow
has been recorded in some Goulburn areas.
How many times has it snowed in
Goulburn?
In Goulburn it has snowed 3 times. The
first time was sort of thin. The second
time it was like in the middle of thin and
thick. The third time which is today, was
thick. That’s how many times it has
snowed in 2019.
Snow Flakes
Each snowflake is a 6-pointed snow crystal.
The journey of a snow crystal starts in a
cloud. Water in the form of gas called wa-
ter vapour freezes around a piece of dust
or pollution that is floating around in the
cloud. Some snow crystals are called plates,
needles, columns and dendrites.
By Maddison, Shelby & Ella 3/4B
What is snow?
Snow is an atmospheric water
vapour frozen into ice crystals &
falling in light white flakes or ly-
ing on the ground as a white
layer.
How thick was the
snow?
There was about 10 – 15
centimetres of snow in
Goulburn. Also there was
still lots of snow around the
Goulburn area.
How many times did it
snow?
In Goulburn it snowed about 3
times in 2019. The snow was
mostly just ice that got stuck
together this time it was a bit
softer but It became harder
when be played with it. By Ricky & Kieran 3/4B
Bill Harding from Lega-
cy made a special visit
to our assembly to
congratulate our SRC
and Miss Bladwell and
Mrs Bensley for their
fantastic efforts in
raising $642 for Lega-
cy this year.
KN have been
working in
Maths groups to
solve problems.
Stage 3 worked together to
build our largest snowman on
Tuesday.
This Term, our school will be participating in the Partners in Learning parent sur-
vey, another part of the Tell Them From Me suite of surveys (student, teacher and parent surveys) on
student engagement. The survey asks parents and carers questions about different factors that are
known to impact on student wellbeing and engagement.
Running this survey will help our school understand parents’ and carers’ perspectives on their child’s
experience at school. These include: communication between parents/carers and staff, activities and
practices at home and parent/carer views on the school's support of learning and behaviour. This valu-
able feedback will help our school make practical improvements.
The survey is conducted entirely online on smartphones, iPads, tablets, laptops or computers. The
survey will typically take 15 minutes or less to complete and is completely confidential. The parent sur-
vey will be conducted between 26 August and 25 October. Although participating in the survey is en-
tirely voluntary, your responses are very much appreciated.
More information about the survey is available at: http://surveys.cese.nsw.gov.au. To access the sur-vey for our school go to: http://nsw.tellthemfromme.com/goulburnnorth The survey is available in 23 languages.
I am delighted that this term, our school, like many other public schools in the state, will participate in a
Department of Education initiative: the Tell Them From Me student feedback survey. The survey
measures factors that are known to affect academic achievement and other student outcomes. The fo-
cus of the NSW-wide survey is on student wellbeing, engagement and effective teaching practices.
You may remember that our students also participated in a Tell Them From Me student survey in Term
1 this year. Asking students to complete the survey twice in one year allows us to identify trends in stu-
dent responses as well as track engagement and motivation across the school year.
The survey is a great opportunity for our students to provide us with valuable and quick feedback on
what they think about school life, how engaged they are with school and the different ways that teach-
ers interact with them. More than 6,300 schools in Australia and around the world have used Tell Them
From Me to survey 5.4 million students. Capturing the voices of our students will help improve how we
do things at our school.
More information about the survey is available at: http://surveys.cese.nsw.gov.au I want to assure you that the survey is confidential. The survey is conducted online and will typically
take less than 30 minutes to complete. It will be administered during school hours between 26 August
and 25 October. Participating in the survey is entirely voluntary.
A consent form and FAQs for parents/carers about the survey is being sent home with students. If you do not want your child or children to participate, please return the form to school by Monday 9 September 2019. Copies of the form and FAQs are available from: http://surveys.cese.nsw.gov.au/information-for-parents. The consent form and FAQs are available in 23 languages.
