Archery New Zealand have asked Trentham Camp Archery Club to organise this event after a failure to find another host for 2017. 74th Archery New Zealand National Championships &

NZ Open 2017Trentham, Upper Hutt

31st Dec. 2016 – 6th January 2017

An invitation is extended to all Archersto come and enjoy with us the 74th Archery New Zealand National Championships and Open 2017. The National Championships aim to cater for all archers regardless of skill level. We would like to see as many archers as possible at the event to enjoy the fun, friendship and competition.

Archery New Zealand have asked Trentham Camp Archery Club to organise this event after a failure to find another host for 2017. Unfortunately this year, due to time pressure and lack of suitable targets, we must restrict both the size of the competition and events. As a consequence, the event will be open for Cadet, Junior, Senior, and Masters Divisions only. The number of spaces available is limited and we may have to close off registrations earlier than the dates shown on the registration form. There will not be a crossbow competition this year. I understand that Archery New Zealand will look to organise a JAMA competition at another stage.

The Target Championships will be decided on the combined results of a single WA 1440 and a WA 72 Arrow Ranking Round. Individual match play events will be held for the Recurve and Compound archers; also for Barebow and Longbow on the proviso there are enough entries. We will not be having teams events this year.

The Senior & Masters’ rounds will follow the World Archery distances. Rounds to be shot are on following pages.

All events are being held in the Trentham area of Upper Hutt. For those unfamiliar with the Wellington district, Upper Hutt is a small city located about a 35 minute drive north of Wellington and 15 minutes north of Lower Hutt. There are several supermarkets and shopping centres in Upper Hutt.

The Field Championships will be decided on two field rounds: WA marked 24 target and an unmarked WA 3D round. The venue will be Trentham Camp Archery Club, Somerville Range, Messines Avenue, Upper Hutt.

Somerville Range will also be the venue for the Clout Championships.

The Target and Match Play Championships will be held at Trentham Memorial Park, Upper Hutt. The entrance is halfway along Brentwood Street (off Ferguson Drive).

Please encourage your archery friends and your supporters to join you this year at the 74th National Championships and to participate at whatever level you all enjoy. We also invite overseas archers to

join us at this event along with Bow Hunters, Traditional Archers & NZFAA. We look forward to seeing you all in January 2017.

Yours Sincerely,

Irving CampbellPresident, Trentham Camp Archery Club and on behalf of Archery New Zealand.
