Greetings from Indonesia!With pride and joy, allow me to introduce you to

the First Edition of our NOC Bulletin, which will be the Official Newsletter for the International Relations & Protocol Department of the Indonesia Asian Games Organizing Committee (INASGOC) 2018.

Our preparations for Asian Games 2018 are progressing day-by-day, and the Bulletin is our way to share our updates of strong efforts for the preparations of the Games as well as our approach to ring a bell of our Key Dates & Timeline.

Through this Bi-Monthly Bulletin, the National Olympic Committees and all the Asian Games stakeholders will be keep abreast with the latest news from the INASGOC in regards to the Games.

We hope you will find our current edition beneficial, as there will be more exciting news to come from Jakarta and Palembang in future editions.

The identity’s mark (symbol) is based on the Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium shape, with eight paths leading to the stadium and the Asian Games’shining sun emblem in the centre.

We believe that when all these Asian nations come together for the 18th Asian Games, there will be a showcase of “The Energy of Asia” that will radiate throughout the world. The multicoloured arcs are also evocative of the multicultural nature of Asia and Indonesia.

The Energy of Asia lies in the diversity of it’s culture, heritage, and legacy. When all these elements come together, they will be a major force to reckon in the world.

The same principle applies to Indonesia, home to hundreds of ethnic groups speaking many different languages. Our Founding Fathers had envisioned a strong and united nation under the Bhinneka Tunggal Ika philosophy. That is why we decided topropose three different animals as the official games mascot.

Also in correlation to the Asian Games, each of these animals represents aspects of the sport competition such as strategy, speed and power.
