Other MinLic® OptionsMinLic® Hi-PhosMinLic® Hi-Phos offers 8% phosphorous and calcium, and added ADF, fiber, and fat, to help balance out average pastures that are low in phosphorus. Important for bone development and cell energy, cattle short on phosphorous will show fragile bones, poor growth, low appetite, chewing of wood/hair/bones, poor reproductive performance and reduced milk production. (Also available with Altosid® and/or Chelates.)

Solution for: Situations where calcium levels are adequate but phosphorus levels are a low such as during winter/cover-crop grazing or on dry forages.

MinLic® Hi-CalFortified with chelated minerals and high levels of key vitamins, MinLic® Hi-Cal offers 10-12% calcium--the most out of all MinLic formulas.

Solution for: Situations where phosphorus levels are adequate but calcium levels are low such as in grain-fed cattle and diets heavy in corn or sorghum silage or by-product feeds such as DDGs.

MinLic® is a vitamin and mineral tub with no added protein.

Chelated Minerals

Same nutrient analysis as MinLic® but formulated with Zinpro Performance Minerals. (Also available with Altosid®.)

Solution for: Any situation where mineral imbalances are a concern. Chelated minerals are more bio-available to the animal compared to non-chelated trace minerals.

Altosid®: Solution for reducing horn fly populations around cattle; Best for pasture beef cattle.

ClariFly®: Solution for reducing populations of multiple species of flies; Best for confinement stock including beef and dairy cattle.

For best results, herds should be offered Altosid® or ClariFly® 30 days before first frost, through the fly season, and 30 days after last frost of the season.

MinLic® Bio-Mos®

MinLic® Bio-Mos® offers key support for the animal’s rumen and gut health. Bio-Mos® boosts overall performance by enhanced feed efficiency and immune system development/maintenance for both females and their offspring. A 6 oz. intake of MinLic® Bio-Mos® will provide animals with 10 grams of Bio-Mos®.

Solution for: Females or cow-calf pairs; cattle needing immunity support.

Mineral programs are only as good as the level of intakes by the animals a producer is offering them to. Often, vitamins and minerals in loose form aren’t very palatable which makes it difficult to get necessary intakes. When they are consumed in loose form, it can be challenging to get the consistent intakes that are required for added minerals to work. By offering key minerals blended in cooked molasses, not only are SmartLic® MinLic® tubs palatable for even the most picky eaters, they are also well mixed in the tub for balanced intakes.

Because MinLic® offers no added protein to a herd’s diet, these tubs are ideal for diets containing high quality forages or grasses such as cattle grazing pastures in the spring and summer. Additionally, all MinLic® formulas offer a minimum of 2.0% added magnesium which can help combat poor performances as a result of magnesium imbalances.

MinLic® ClariFly®

Feeding Directions

Hi-Phos: Provide free-choice as a supplement to pasture cattle at a rate of one block for each 10 to 20 head. Place blocks in each pasture near areas frequented by livestock, such as watering locations, shade or loafing areas. Cattle normally consume approximately 0.25 pound per head daily. Consumption may vary depending on climate, grazing conditions, condition of livestock and/or availability of other feeds. In situations where climate and/or other factors result in less than 4 oz. per head daily, intake of supplement can be increased by increasing the number of blocks per pasture.

Hi-Cal/Normal/Chelates/Bio-Mos: Provide free-choice as a supplement to pasture cattle at the rate of one block for each 15 to 25 head. Place blocks in pasture near areas frequented by livestock, such as watering locations, shade or loafing areas. Cattle normally consume approximately 0.25-0.50 pound per head daily. Consumption may vary depending on climate, grazing conditions, condition of livestock and/or availability of other feeds. In situations where climate and/or other factors result in less than 1/2 pound per head daily, intake of supplement can be increased by increasing the number of blocks per pasture.
