For 2015 all kites are equipped with the Air Port Valve. To
ensure user friendliness the non-return valve has been
reworked and Velcro has been added, this connects the
valve to the kite and prevents twisting.
The valves unique construction has several advantages,
but first and foremost it saves time rigging. The valve
works with any conventional pump or compressor as
it can be connected directly to the bayonet insert of
the hose. The valve is suitable for both, inflation and
deflation. The deflation option is integrated, which means
no external deflation pin is required. Deflation is simply
activated by turning the blue wheel on the inside of the
valve completely to the right.
pLease note:
Always deflate via the inflation valve (Air Port Valve)
first, before opening the dump valve. This procedure will
prevent unwanted twisting of the valve.
L a Z y p U m p
The Lazy Pump system enables the inflation of the kite
from just one valve. Clips close off struts from leading
edge to prevent unwanted airflow in case of damage or
simply to only deflate the leading edge.
Attention to detail is the key to the overall quality of
any product. Kites are complex technical products,
and the key to progression and evolution is to keep
analysing and optimizing all aspects of the construc-
tion and production methods continuously. Industrial
production utilises a Total Quality Control approach
this is the method of choice to improve efficiency in
production and material consumption to achieve a
product that is both superior and economic at the
same time – we have applied these principals to our
manufacturing process.
After several years of installing this attitude in our R&D
team and production facility, the concept has proven
successful: our kites are a superior quality product
down to every last detail, and you can feel this when
you fly them. The result: The best Kites, Boards and
Accessories for your True Kiteboarding experience.
There are 3 aspects to this approach that complement
each other and have to work together seamlessly:
1. Materials and Hardware
2. Employees and Production Techniques
3. Construction Details and Design

Teijin is the world’s leading supplier for polyester fabrics
and sail materials for all kinds of marine sports. We use
the remarkably durable Teijin Dacron for our leading
edge, struts, wingtips and the trailing edge and where-
ver high tension or an applied load is found. Techno-
force D2 is used for our canopy. Technoforce D2 was an
exclusive development for North Kiteboarding, which
has proven its superiority in durability and dynamics
since we started using it.

Teufelberger is a leading supplier for ropes, ranging
from climbing, sailing and paragliding to specialized ro-
pes for kitesurfing. North Kiteboarding uses Teufelber-
ger products for lines and bridles.
A short sizzling noise, which is a very small amount of
air escaping from the interspace of the valve, when ta-
king off the bayonet fitting is normal. The valve enables
fatigue-proof inflation due to the bigger air passage.
Even bigger kites will be inflated within seconds!

As kite geometry improves, the canopy must continue
to resist increasing forces. To spread these forces,
Load-Distribution Panels are used, holding the kite’s
shape even under the most extreme loads. In practice
this gives a smoother and more consistent perfor-
mance from the kite in any riding situation.
f U s i o n s t r U t
This construction allows for a controlled distribution
of forces between strut and leading edge. Struts are
100% connected to the leading edge with a flexible
Dyneema line, which promotes higher canopy tension
and a clean profile.
Z i p p e r L e s s s t r U t
A strut without zippers means less weight, and results
in smoother flying characteristics and increased
durability. These advantages outweigh the slightly
more tedious process required when changing a strut
bladder.

A number of construction details optimised in the Progression Q process resulted in features which are outright
innovations made by North Kiteboarding and have become industry standard. North Kiteboarding stays at the
cutting edge of R&D by working with two experienced kite designers and numerous product developers, who
work closely with each other to ensure every improvement and development is transferred to each kite model in
our range. Durability and functionality of our products are a direct result of their experience and workflow.

We expect a lot from the people who manufacture
our kites. This is why we work with technically trained
employees, who are motivated due to a long-term
investment in their capabilities, controlled working

A detailed quality control system has been developed,
controlling every step starting with the delivery of raw
materials to the factory and ending with the final deli-
very of kites to our customers. In between, every sing-
le stage is optimized to the smallest detail. The quality
check card is the key to keeping precise control over
the process for every individual kite at every stage.

All critical seams are done with computer supported
sewing and cutting machines. This avoids human mis-
takes and inconsistencies, increases the productivity
and reduces waste from offcut material; it is the only
way to create a perfect and consistent result every
time.

Every single seam is stitched with a zigzag sewing tech-
nique. They are first glued then stitched. The result is
a clean, good-looking and highly durable stitch, which
supports the overall stability of the kite.

The self-rescue handles on the inside of the wingtips
can be easily found in case of an offshore break down.
They provide a good, comfortable grip while sailing

The loaded 5th line is a “nose line” with constant ten-
sion. This tension is responsible for reactive steering,
powered as well as depowered and a crisp and direct
bar feel. Only the 5th line system can guarantee 100 %
depower in less than one second when releasing the
Iron Heart.
t r a i L i n g e d g e f o r c e c o n t r o L
The Trailing Edge Force Control describes the smooth
power distribution between the different materials of
the kite, forcing the tensions in the right directions.
Since 2013 the waves are higher and wider to elimi-
nate stress points between the Dacron Trailing Edge
and the D2 Canopy material. This change in const-
ruction reduces fluttering marks and ensures that the
material is not wearing out.
d o U b L e -V p i g ta i L s
These pigtails distribute the load of the line connec-
tions to the kite, minimising the risk of fatigue, making
the kite less prone to distortion and helps it to steer
more smoothly.

The kook proof line connection points prevent acci-
dents by guaranteeing that you cannot accidentally
connect your lines incorrectly when rigging your kite.

The leading edges of all kites are extremely durable
due to a special heavy-duty closing seam. The Dacron
material at the leading edge is reinforced with a self
sticky Insignia Tape and double stitched additionally.
The Heavy Duty Leading Edge Closing Seam is resis-
tant to very high tensions and diagonal forces.

› Higher diagonal stiffness than normal canopy
materials.
› Higher performance: the stiffer overall structure
stabilizes the kite and makes it faster.
› Crisp and very direct response to steering input.
Due to the dynamic pressure forces on kites, the
stiffness of a kite is immensely important in relation
to the flying characteristics of a kite.
o n e o f t h e m a i n f a c t o r s f o r a g e i n g
o f k i t e s i s U V L i g h t
UV light strongly influences the ageing of the kite.
Exposing your kite for too long to UV light can reduce
the crisp steering and flying feeling – sometimes within
days.
d o U b L e c o at i n g
Due to the Double-Coating of D2, the material stays
crisp for longer. The unique coating procedure is
not just protecting the final canopy, but every single
yarn is coated before the final weaving process and
therefore every single yarn is protected additionally.
Even if the coating comes off the first layer, the yarns
themselves stay coated! Not just protected from the
sun, but also from salt crystals, sand, small stones and
other sharp objects.
Step 1 - Coating of the single yarn
Step 2 - Weaving of the coated single yarns to one fabric
Step 3 - Coating of the whole canopy material
However, the kite canopy material stays a delicate fabric.
Fins and sharp objects can cause small scratches when
being used for securing the kite on the ground.
These may appear harmless, but can destroy the kite
during the next session when forces impact the canopy.
For more than 6 years North Kiteboarding has been employing Technoforce D2 on all the kites in the range.
Our team has been continuously testing several other fabrics but the bottom line was – there is no better choice
of canopy material than the existing Teijin fabric. The dynamics and durability of D2 is simply exceptional. In
order to further improve the fabric and optimising it for the kite specific requirements the development and
evolution takes place in close collaboration with Teijin, the world market leader in Polyester fabrics.

the Vegas has been completely reworked and
redesigned for 2015, it is now even more freestyle
orientated and hard-core than ever before! the
kite has a more c-shaped arc this year combined
with a deeper profile allowing it to sit further
back in the window, delivering plenty of power.
the wingtips have also been changed for 2015;
they are squarer to offer even more direct feel
and feedback for the rider. in addition to all of
this, the most important feature of the Vegas, the
power release delay, has been lengthened. this
means that when you pop, the kite flies forward
in the window and feels weightless in your hands,
allowing you to perform your tricks with ease.
With aaron hadlow on board there are different
set-ups for 2015. the first two set ups are a mix of
wakestyle and freestyle with the most comfortab-
le settings for the rider in terms of bar pressure.
the ”hadlow Set Up” has been tuned specifi-
cally for competition riding and aaron himself;
it features a special wakestyle bar connection
system. the recommended Wakestyle Bar itself,
already offers more slag and power release delay
compared to the 5th line trust Bar, in combinati-
on with the hadlow Set Up is only recommended
for absolute experts! essentially the kite is very
stable for performing tricks, but has a little less
depower, only professionals need apply!
the Vegas is the most refined freestyle kite on
the market, and now it has the endorsement of
one of the greatest kitesurfers of all time!

the Hadlow set up is very personal to me, it started out
as a sketch in my notebook many years ago, I was trying
to give the kite support without loosing any performance.
I needed something that would support the kite and
make it totally stable whilst keeping the bar simple and
free of clutter, as if it was a 4 line set up. I tested this
concept and it turned out to work so well that I still use
it to this day.
the Vegas is already a very stable kite and works well
with a 5th line, the tension in the 5th line gives the kite
some additional characteristics. the Hadlow set up gives
a similar LE support but changes the feel of the kite
totally. Instead of an independent 5th line the Hadlow
set up starts out like a conventional 4 line bar, and then 4
meters away from the kite the front lines split, your nor-
mal 4 lines attach in the conventional way but now you
are left with 2 more lines that connect to the LE instead
of your 5th line ‘V’.
By eliminating the 5th line you reduce drag. the sup-
port lines on the Hadlow set up keep the kite solid, stable
and ridged, the minimal drag of these lines do not effect
or de-power the kite in anyway. It remains in the C-shape,
free from deformation, in which the kite performs best.
When riding a kite I am looking for a consistent, driving
turn that generates a consistent power supply when
turning, this set up does just this by producing a wider,
smoother turn arc and kite loop. all the pressure is taken
through the front lines and this allows the kite to behave
in such a way. With the 5th line, where some pressure
is taken though the centre of the kite, the kite tends to
pivot around this point. It’s a feeling that comes down to
personal preference but this is one of the main reasons I
use this system.
Up until now many people have been put off or
uninterested because of the lack of information. now
with north Kiteboarding we have further developed the
system to work reliably for safety and relaunch with a
comprehensive explanation on the set up.
It’s just like remapping or adding a chip to your car’s
engine and now it is accessible to all! I’m so glad I can
now share the benefits that I feel this can add to your
new Vegas.

the launch of the dice last year broke all our
previous records for a new kite!
a favourite with the magazines and riders alike,
everybody loved its playful nature. the low end
of the kite has been improved this year; by ope-
ning up the profile the kite now generates more
power in lighter winds. this open profile has also
added more stability at the top end of the kites
range too. it’s still great in the waves with the
impressive drifting capabilities, but it is perfect
for freeriding and freestyle as well. to ensure it
excites the freestylers and freeriders out there
we have made the kite more aggressive for impro-
ved lift and jumping characteristics. of course
the impeccable handling and manoeuvrability
are still there, the dice is exceedingly precise
and responds to rider input immediately offering
unrivalled feel at the bar.
there is no need to take a gamble on the dice;
it’s quite simply one of the best kites on the mar-
ket right now, perfect however you like to ride!

the evo was the standout kite for 2014 for many
people, magazines rated it as one of the best all
round freeride kites on the market. Whilst tom
hebert used the evo at the red Bull King of the
air and boosted the biggest jump of the entire
competition! the evo has a huge wind range, no
matter which size you fly, the low end is excep-
tionally good and the 5-strut design keeps the
kite stable in high winds too. When the wind is
really blowing the evo is fantastic for huge floaty
jumps with lots of hangtime. the upwind ability
of the kite is fantastic, ensuring you keep your
spot on the beach, no matter how big the tricks
are! Unhooking with the evo is easy and the kite
offers a power delay after you pop, allowing you
to perform your tricks with ease.
the evo is the unsung hero of the north Kite-
boarding range, it is perfect for freeride, freestyle
and waves; it will be perfect for you…

last year the neo was redeveloped as a pure
wave-riding kite, focusing on the qualities that
riders demand in waves. the kite not only im-
pressed the riders, but also won several magazine
tests in its class. this year the kite has been
completely reworked to further improve its per-
formance. the neo still has amazing drift capa-
bilities, but the top end has also been improved
while keeping the amazing low end. the kite has
excellent sheet and go characteristics, meaning
you can either dump power, or use it according to
where you are on the wave and how it is breaking.
this will get you out of difficult situations, but it
also makes riding waves easier and flying the neo
is very instinctive. For 2015 we recommend using
a kite 1-2 sizes smaller than you would normally as
the low end is so impressive!
the world’s best wave riders all love the neo
and when you fly one on the waves, you’ll fall in
love too!

the north Kiteboarding rebel doesn’t need an
introduction; it has been the pinnacle of freeride
kites for so long now. there are countless riders
around the world who enjoy its amazing perfor-
mance, and once again, for 2015 a rebel, is a re-
bel! the loaded 5th line offers amazing depower
and unparalleled sheet and go power delivery.
this year the profile has been tuned to improve
the upwind ability even more, and of course you
get the smooth and predictable handling that is
part of the rebels dna. the biggest sizes are
pure hangtime machines and the 18 comes as
a 18 airstyle edition! it’s the most user friendly,
performance orientated kite we make. if you’re a
freerider then the rebel is the go to kite for the
best jumps, longest hangtime and smoothest ride
on the water.

For some time now the dyno has been at the
pinnacle of racing performance, it’s won world
championships, but has equally entertained free-
riders looking for great light wind performance.
the kite has impeccable handling, the profile and
strut positions have been tuned over the years to
make a kite that is both responsive and exciting
to fly. to meet the demanding needs of racers the
2015 dyno has amazing upwind performance, the
best in our entire range. the low end of the dyno
is startling; it delivers smooth power in the ligh-
test of breezes and generates plenty of power. all
of our aerodynamic knowledge goes into ensuring
the dyno meets the demanding needs of our pro
racers.
if you want to win races and be at the front of
the fleet, the dyno is the kite to take you there,
however don’t be put off by its racing pedigree!
the kite excels in light winds for freeriding too,
delivering big air and lots of fun!

the second generation of our hugely popular light
wind freeride kite, the juice is ideal for those
days on the beach when the wind doesn’t arrive.
the kite is available in two sizes, 15m and 18m and
is designed around a 3-strut platform to ensure
it retains a playful nature in the air, despite the
large size! the juice has amazing upwind perfor-
mance, even in hardly any wind. unlike some large
kites, which have a racing focus in mind, the juice
was designed for freeriding. during the design
process the juice was tested using twintips, this
enabled us to ensure the kite offers the optimum
performance for light wind freeride action. you’ll
be amazed with the huge jumps on the juice too,
the kite glides and offers plenty of hangtime and
it is a great kite for airstyle tricks.
don’t get stuck on the beach this summer, grab
a refreshing juice and get on the water!

the Buzz is our dedicated school kite; countless riders
have used it to learn their first runs across the water. the
kite is designed to give an exceedingly smooth power
delivery and sits in the window in a predictable and stable
manner. the Buzz also has our “auto-launch” feature,
making it the easiest kite to relaunch in the north kite-
boarding range. this allows students to spend more time
riding and less time with the kite in the water. the Buzz is
designed for beginners, and is also designed to be strong.
it features the most up to date technology and materials in
terms of construction to ensure it lives up to the demands
of the most demanding schools. crash, launch, ride, repeat,
the Buzz will keep coming back for more!
the lizard 1.8 and lizard 2.5 offer a safe and enjoyable way
for newcomers to learn the basics of kite flying. durability
is paramount when you are learning to fly a kite, both the
lizards use a ram air construction and with internal sup-
ports to make the kites bombproof. the handling on the
lizard is predictable and controllable, enabling new
flyers to get to grips with the basic skills quickly.
Both lizard kites are supplied with a 50cm rubber coated
aluminium bar, this means you can get the “feel” for flying
a kite on the same set up as our kitesurfing kites. they
also come with a hand leash optional you can get the 1.8
without leash. the lizard kites are ready to fly straight out

In 2015 we have completely redesigned the 4-line system,
now offering a single frontline safety system. when releasing
the single frontline system all the power is redirected to
one single frontline, whereby the kite will flag out more
easily and rest powerless on the water. Moreover the kite
will remain in a position that is ideal to restart the kite from
the water. The system is equipped with a specially designed
single frontline safety pulley to ensure a safe function of
the system. The quad control bar is the safest 4-line bar
on the market, offering unrivalled control and safety release
options. The Iron Heart release is unparalleled in its effici-
ency and ease of use and forms the core of the bar through
which the other safety systems flow. This allows the rider to
get things back under control quickly and easily. The quad
control Bar is identical to the 5th Element Bar aside from
the 4 lines and single front line safety set up, ensuring it is
the best on the market. However, 4-line systems can only
offer limited safety functions. For ultimate safety and 100%
depower, riders should choose the 5-line system.
Safety is an essential topic in a sport where you are
facing the power of the elements, and in some situations
are totally on your own. The North Kiteboarding patented
5th line system has provided the greatest combination of
safety and performance for many years now. year after
year the 5th line concept proves its reliability and 100%
instant depower after a safety release no matter what
the conditions. The system still has a commanding lead
compared to other safety systems available on the mar-
ket. This is why we at North Kiteboarding believe in the
5th line concept. what’s more, the 5th line makes water
re-launch really easy and the loaded 5th line kite designs
(Vegas and rebel) offer a very short depower stroke,
giving the rider ultimate control in gusty conditions. The
benefits of this set-up are obvious and appreciated by
riders all over the world.

The winding posts are made of a fully moulded fibre-
glass reinforced polyamide construction, which offers an
incredibly lightweight solution with increased stiffness.
In addition to this, there is a moulded EVA cushioning to
ensure maximum comfort for the rider.
The winding posts feature an integrated backline adjust-

The exchangeable insert for the centre hole is made of
plastic, to minimise wear on the depower line. The material
we use is resistant to abrasion, and will cause much less
damage, if sand is present, to the line itself.

In 2015 we maintain the smaller diameter of the bar intro-
duced in 2014 which allows for a thicker EVA bar grip. The
result is a bar that has the same overall diameter but offers
a lot more comfort to the rider.

The moulded EVA floater is fully integrated into the
winding posts to offer a seamless connection, which gives
better protection to the lines and the rider. The integration
of the EVA floater also avoids line tangling and gives better
overall stiffness between the bar and lines.
n E w
To achieve better and more direct feedback on the thumb,
we added a newly designed push pin on the outside of the
winding post which makes it a lot easier to operate. The
Flip Flop function allows you to switch between a 53cm
and 46cm bar width (M/l bar) and 49cm and 42cm bar
width (S/M bar) with just one click. This makes the proce-
dure of changing the bar set up far simpler.

The Iron Heart from North Kiteboarding has long been the
benchmark for all safety systems and we are continuously
aiming to further improve this essential piece of safety
equipment. It is renowned for a fast, safe and easy release,
coupled with the ability to quickly reassemble the unit and
continue flying.

The chicken loop and chicken dig mounting has been
reworked in 2015. Exchanging the chicken loop or remo-
ving the chicken dig is now easier due to the new grub
screw. Simply use an FcS fin key to remove the screws.
The flexible moulded construction offers comfort and
allows for easy reassembling. It is warp resistant and di-
mensionally stable which makes it very easy to hook back
in after unhooked tricks, as the loop stays in shape.

The Vario cleat and Sliding Stopper enable a quick
and easy adjustment of the depower stroke. Especially
interesting for smaller riders who have problems reaching
the bar in the regular setting. The height of the Vario cleat
and Sliding Stopper can be easily adjusted to suit personal
preferences. The reduced size combined with the smaller
Vario cleat accounts for 12% more depower area. The 5th
line channel reduces the risk of the 5th line getting tangled
considerably.

The heart of the Iron Heart IV is the reverse release pin
and one of the keys of the intelligent release mechanism.
unlike other safety systems, it hinges to the inside to pro-
tect your hands. The reverse release pin is the reason for
the incredibly low release forces enabling you to release
with little exertion.
R O T O h E A D
The roto Head permits you to untangle the lines after
a rotational jump or a kiteloop while you are riding. It is
made from an extremely durable plastic construction whe-
re no corrosion is possible. The roto Head comes with two
grub screws making it easy and fast to change the depower
line. Simply use an FcS fin key to remove the screws and
change the depower line.
The following release systems integrated in the North
Kiteboarding Trust bar continue to fulfill all requirements
of the French Norm:
› The quick release system of the bar (Iron Heart IV)
› The quick release that separates the rider completely
from the kite (safety leash)
Both safety systems are tested in various media and the
release force must not exceed 100 N (9.8 Kg). The actual
release process of both systems must not exceed 0.5 sec.
The transition from riding position to release (reaching
for the Iron Heart or safety leash from riding position with
both hands on the bar) must not exceed 2 sec.
OT h E R R E Q U i R E m E n T S
The grips of the release system must be red and the
direction of release must be indicated. The release grips
must be easy to reach. Furthermore, the Iron Heart must
resist a load of 360 kg without deformation and without
losing functionality. The same applies to the safety leash
with a load of 180 kg. The system is tested in the toughest,
sandiest and salty conditions that we can find. Sadly, many
available systems on the market are unable to fulfill the
requirements of this norm!
S A F E T Y l E A S h
The Safety leash offers excellent floatation, guaranteed
protection and ease of handling. The moulded EVA
construction covering the hook is softer and prevents
lines from tangling; the hook itself can still be bent in two
directions.
The EVA cover can be pulled back for easy hooking in and
out to the suicide ring at the chicken loop. The safety re-
lease function is positioned at the end of the leash where
it is attached to the harness; giving you the possibility to
release the kite completely at any time.

The completely new wakestyle Bar is based on the
Trust Bar but has been fully influenced by the North
Kiteboarding wakestyle/Freestyle Team. They wanted
a shorter bar (42cm), a bigger chicken loop, 22m lines,
single line depower with a rubber coating and the 5-line
“V" split very low at 2m away from the bar. The delay
in steering and heavier pressure on the wakestyle Bar
with the recommended medium depower setting allows
you to concentrate more on doing your trick and less
about what's happening with the kite or your input on
the bar. The kite is able to move and produce power
just as quickly as the stock Trust Bar, it just takes a
little bit more input and effort on the bar for steering.
The lower split on the 5-line “V” noticeably changes
the overall performance of the kite generating more
power release delay, more slack, more pop and a delay
in steering that makes doing doubles or holding grabs
much easier and un-matched by the stock Trust Bar.
Even the shape of the kite in the sky is more closed and
has a more true c-kite shape and feel. definitely a true
wakestyle machine!
Also included with the wakestyle Bar is a conversion
kit with instructions to switch the bar to the Hadlow
Setup. Aaron Hadlow extensively tested with the North
Kiteboarding r&d team to make his signature line setup
work better than ever before with the 2015 Vegas. This
Hadlow setup combined with the low depower setting
is the preferred way for 5x pKrA world champion
Aaron Hadlow to ride. In this setup, the kite offers an
even more explosive pop, more power release and
steering delay while giving up most of the depower
compared to the 5-line wakestyle Bar setup. Truly the
most hard core feeling in the North Kiteboarding kite
line up. relaunch on this set up is just as easy as with
the 5-line setup. Just pull the flagging line and the kite
will roll on it’s back the same as in the 5-line setting. If
you want to ride with the same hardcore setting that
Aaron is making his return to the pKrA Tour on, this is
your chance.
But definitely not a set up for everybody!

Two years ago we introduced different line length ranging
from 19 to 27 metres as the length of the flying lines can
make a huge difference to the way the kite flies. different
styles of riding, different kite models or the kite size can be
influencing factors that require different line length.
In order to further increase this synergy effect the 19 and
22m lines come on a medium bar (49/42cm) and the 24 and
27m lines on a large bar (53/46cm).
The bar is the riders’ first point of contact with the kite.
In order to achieve a maximum comfort when riding it is
essential to match the kite and the riders’ style of riding to
the correct line length.

Super fast and reactive turning speeds, shorter lines are
best for extreme freestyle and crazy kite loops. They are
also excellent for wave riding, where the kites turning
speed is important. wakestyle riders enjoy the close
connection to the kite too.
The disadvantage is you lose some of the low-end power.

› Tight, super fast and hard kite loops
› Narrower bar width

The favourite length of our freestyle and wave team riders.
The 22m lines are still great for getting lots of speed from
the kite, perfect for wave riding and freestyle. Not as ext-
reme as the 19m lines, they still lose a bit of low-end power.

One bar fits all. The 24m lines are the best choice for an
all round length, good turning speed combined with good
power make 24m the perfect choice for a lot of riders.
great for freeride, waves and freestyle.
› The most versatile length

› High jumps as you can “load” the lines
› The recommended size for a one bar quiver!
2 7 m - 3 0 % H A N d l I N g / 7 0 % p O w E r
The extra length means extra power, you get a little more
range out of your quiver by adding this bar with the longer
lines. They are also great for jumping as you can really
“load” the lines when you edge and send the kite back
through the window.

the select, team series and spike teXtreme® are made
using a full carbon construction, which showcases all
of north kiteboardings expertise in twintip design. to
achieve the best possible performance each line has an
individual carbon layup.
the select and spike teXtreme® are constructed with
a special focus on lightweight and liveliness. to achieve
the maximum weight reduction the top deck uses the
patented teXtreme® spread tow fabric (stf). on the
bottom a 45-degree diagonal Biax Carbon is employed
to guarantee maximum pop and grip.
the spike teXtreme® additionally features a carbon belt
on the bottom to get extra stiffness for early planing.
the focus with the new team series was on maximum
pop, grip and durability. to absorb extremely hard
landings, which come along with the trend of riding
twintips with boots, we use special ‘Bootproof’ track
reinforcements made from aMaG titanal® and our
Carbon Beam Construction on the top deck of the
boards. on the bottom we use a 45-degree diagonal
Biax Carbon and additional Carbon X-strings to get
best possible pop and edge hold.

the team series is the ultimate board
for freestyle competition; riders like
reno romeu, Mario rodwald and stefan
spiessberger use it with devastating
effect on the Pkra world tour.
the board is stiff in order to offer amazing
pop; the torsional stiffness has also
been tweaked to increase control and
response. the wake bottom concept not
only offers excellent grip, it also helps to
break the surface tension of the water
making landings smooth. even without
finds there is plenty of grip. By using our
flex Carbon construction the board is
exceedingly light, this reduces the swing
weight effect while you are pulling your
tricks, offering even more control in the
air. the team series is the best tool for
demanding freestyle riders looking for
amazing performance.
Based on the team series the new
Hadlow edition is ideal for those seeking
the ultimate performance out of a board,
tested to the max by aaron Hadlow. its
aggressive channels and 3D design across
the underside of the board gives you
the grip you need for wakestyle and rail
riding, whilst the intricate flex pattern and
balanced rocker line give you the speed
and pop and that is suited and specced
for the world’s best competitors. Com-
pared to the team series the Hadlow
edition is slightly wider and shorter for its
size, this gives it a slightly rounder outline
that is more suited for riding with boots
and allows for a comfortable ride. with
carbon we have managed to create a stiff
flex pattern that produces an aggressive,
snappy pop. we focused on making the
centre between the boots more rigid,
reducing torsion flex, this gives you more
control in releasing the edge at the per-
fect moment.
all this combined with an intermediate
rocker line, gives performance that is
comfortable even in the choppiest con-
dition. if you want the absolute ultimate
board for competition level freestyle, the
Hadlow edition is it!

the test winning wakestyle board is
back for 2015; the choice of top pros like
tom Court and Crag Cunningham the
Gambler offers the ultimate in wakestyle
performance. the board features our
slick Base construction, which is designed
to be hard wearing and eat up whatever
features you decide to hit. But please
notice there is no warranty if using obsta-
cles. the steep rocker helps to smooth
out the landings and combined with the
unique flex offers amazing pop. Deep
rails and a channelled bottom shape offer
plenty of grip on the water too and the
board can be ridden with or without fins.
the track sliders are in one line so boots
can be mounted in both directions. Both
rails can be heel and front side, durability
raises.the Gambler is tough, and packed
with performance, put one on your feet
and you’ll be landing all the aces.
the Jaime is the most versatile board
in the north kiteboarding range, it is
designed to meet the demanding needs
of Jaime Herraiz and this is its tenth an-
niversary year! one of the most popular
twintips of all time the board utilises
some of the most advanced production
techniques available. the Carbon Beam
helps to give the board superior torsional
stiffness, which gives you total control.
the progressive flex and wide tips offer
a great platform for excellent pop and
you really get great lift from the board
as it leaves the water. the Quattro V
Bottom offers a smooth ride through the
roughest of chop and the rocker line has
been tuned for speed. the real beauty of
the Jaime however is its forgiving nature;
it’s one of the easiest boards to ride; yet
it is still packed with performance! if it is
good enough for Jaime, it is good enough
for you!

the central triangles on the ntt Contact Pad and inside

together with the ntt Contact Pad, the ntt split strap
forms probably the most functional footpad system on the
market.
in 2015 the strap is covered with a flushy velcro neopre-
ne on the inside and outside. it offers great comfort and
grip on the inside and due to the fact that the velcro sticks
on anywhere you have always perfect overlap and hold of
the strap.
the revolutionary split function offers the choice bet-
ween maximum grip and optimum mobility:
bombproof grip & more control
By moving the strap Buckles backwards or forward, the
split opens or closes.
the further you open the split, the greater the contact
surface that wraps around your foot. offering bombproof
grip and more control over your board is the direct result.
optimum mobility
the more you close the split, the more range of motion
you get. the split strap comes with all-over padding and
the width adjustment makes sure that the ntt split strap
wraps tightly around any shape of foot. achieving a great
fit with neoprene booties is no longer a problem neither.
the procedure is really simple and only takes a few
seconds.
H o W t o m o u n t t H e n t t
the track nuts secure the Pad/strap combination and
mount to the ntt Combo within seconds. the nuts can
be moved laterally in the tracks to adjust the distance
between the pads. the nuts are supplied with all series
boards with the track system.
n t t + t H e t r a c k
the ntt has been designed and tested for use with the
north kiteboarding “the track” system. the track is an in-
novative mounting system on north kiteboarding twintips
in its fourth generation. together with the track, the ntt
unfolds its full poten-tial of individual settings.
the ntt can be mounted on any board with standard in-
serts from the product generation 2011 onwards, however,
the range of individual settings is then limited.
n t t c o n ta c t f r a m e
the Contact frame is the intelligent basis of the entire
footpad. it is available in two sizes for best comfort like-
wise for larger or smaller feet. the construction perfectly
adapts to the shape of our boards and does not interfere
with the flex characteristics.
n t t c o n ta c t p a d
the ntt Contact Pad consists of the time-tested eVa
footpad and the ntt Contact frame. the footbed is
ergonomically shaped and perfectly combines fit, control
and comfort. the footpad is enveloped by the Contact
frame, which reliably transfers the forces directly to the
board. the direct contact between Contact Pad and board
enhances the board feeling.
› the enhanced heel of the Contact Pad reduces pressure
in sensitive areas of the foot by increasing the cushioning
effect. also it changes the angle of the foot in the binding,
which improves the foothold.
› the anti-slip surface first employed in 2014 considerably
increases the grip, keeping the foot in firm contact with the
ntt. However the surface of the inlays permits easy entry,
yet prevents the foot slipping out. Maximum comfort &
bombproof grip!
n t t H e e l c u s H i o n s
the pad is supplied with three ntt heel cushions of
varying hardness. the cushions permit adjusting the ntt
Contact Pads to your personal preferences.

X 5 foot lengtH adjustment
the entire ntt split strap can be moved back
and forth on the ntt Contact Pad. the right
position depends on your foot length. we recom-
mend adjusting the ntt split strap so that your
toes reach over the toe edge.
X 6 foot WidtH adjustment
you can vary the ntt split strap’s width inde-
pendently of the Velcro adjustment on the ntt
Contact Pad. this helps optimize the ntt’s fit
according to your foot width. in addition you can
change the width if you wear neoprene booties!
X 4adjusting tHe strap contact surface
adjusting the ntt split strap allows you to find the
right balance between personal comfort and opti-
mum grip. the more you open the split, the better
the grip in your ntt! the narrower you set the split,
the greater your mobility within the straps.
X 1 pad distance
the pad distance depends on your size, your riding
style and, of course, your personal preferences.
a narrow distance is usually more comfortable
because it makes the board feel softer. furthermore,
a narrow distance saves strength and is therefore
preferred by freeriders. freestylers usually chose a
wider distance. this provides a lot of pop and permits
more aggressive edging. the wide distance gives the
rider more control in tricks and landings; however, it
also makes riding more strenuous.
X 2 pad position relative to tHe edges
the position of the pad on the board in relation to
the heel and toe edge greatly influences the board’s
riding characteristics. with very wide boards or very
small feet it is recommended to move the binding
towards the heel edge. this increases pressure on
the heel edge and facilitates upwind riding. a central
position of the foot between the two edges provides
better stability in landings. narrow boards and large
feet also benefit from a central position.
X 3 pad angle
in the basic setting the angle is 10°. the pad angle
depends strongly on the rider’s personal preferences.
some riders prefer a position with the front foot
rotated far to the outside. we recommend a greater
angle for these riders.

all boards marked with the "x-surf" stamp are
ideal shapes for both kitesurfing and surfing. we
originally introduced the x-surf concept with the
whip and got great feedback from riders who loved
being able to travel with a single board to cover their
kiting and surfing needs.
in 2015, through on-going development and feed-
back, we have expanded the x-surf family. boards
marked with the "x-surf" stamp have more volume
than the kitesurf-specific boards (better paddling
ability) and also operate well when relying purely on
wave energy to generate speed. the nugget (nugget
tt) doubles as a light wind kitesurf board and a
small-wave-slaying surfboard. the two biggest whips
are performance hybrids perfectly suited to bridging
the gap between kiting and paddling in small to
medium surf. the pro series is the go-to board for
team riders and advanced surfers in nearly all
conditions.

“Just when you think you’ve got your magic board that
can never be replaced, a new design comes along that
really makes you question your perception. this past
season was especially eye opening when developing our
new csc boards. what we are calling csc boards have
been around for a while, but have become really popular
of late in the surfing world. in a nutshell, the csc is a
chopped down surfboard nearly symmetrical in outline
(like a twintip) but with an asymmetrical (surfboard)
rocker. at first glance, this may seem like a funky trend or
a fun novelty concept, but when adapted to kitesurfing
the csc ‘s advantages are undeniable. less nose (up
to 6 inches less nose!) means less swing-weight and
less windage when doing aerial rotations, which offers
greater control. the compact shape lets you stand more
centered on the board, giving you more balance in all
situations and allowing you to have total control over the
whole length of the board. a straighter rail line equals
more stability in chop at high speeds and the flat rocker
generates and carries speed, offering superior glide. but
don’t take my word for it… grab a new pro series or whip
and see what all the fuss is about.”
“because surf board dimensions vary so much, volume
is the best guide for choosing the correct board to suit
your weight. for example, the ultra-short and wide 5’2”
nugget is comparable in volume to the 5’11” wam, but
both boards are perfectly suited to a medium size rider.
as kitesurfers we have the advantage of being able to
ride any size board we want due to the immense power
generated by the kite, but for riders looking to reap the
intended performance benefits of their boards, choosing
the correct volume is essential. keep in mind that boards
aimed at performing in small waves or light wind, like the
whip or nugget will have slightly more volume than that
of boards aimed at performing in big waves or high wind,
like the kontact.”

this year the pro series incorporates the
new compact surf concept making it shor-
ter and more manoeuvrable. the new com-
pact shape means there is far less swing
weight when you ride the board. this gives
you far more control when performing ae-
rial tricks, but also improved handling when
snapping off the tops of waves. in order so
absorb radical airs in freestyle waveriding,
we build the pro series with a new carbon-
innegra sandwich construction. the deck
features a double concave shape to fit your
foot and allow your heel to be closer to the
water allowing you to really command the
board on the wave. designed for advanced
riders the pro series will excel in small to
well overhead high waves.
if you want the ultimate in high perfor-
mance for your wave riding, accept no
substitute and grab the pro series today.
the kontact has been our big wave
weapon for some time, and the design
brief for 2015 remained the same. when
you are riding in big waves and you set
that rail in the water for the bottom turn
you need to have absolute confidence
the board is going to bite and drive. our
shaper sky solbach is no stranger to these
conditions and he has put all of his know-
ledge into ensuring you get speed and grip
from the rail shape and rocker line. new
for this year is the single concave that runs
all the way down to the tail to offer even
more control when you are charging down
the line. the kontact is a little thicker this
year too, with slightly more volume to
ensure it carries speed when you need it
most. if you’re looking at charging some of
the biggest waves the planet has to offer,
don’t leave home without the kontact!

the wam is the perfect all round board
for the rider looking for a traditionally
shaped surfboard that can perform in
a wide variety of conditions. it’s happy
in smaller euro style waves, but equally
comfortable on world-class point breaks
that are fast and heavy. for 2015 the same
rocker line and outline that made last
years pro series so good have been used,
there is also a little more volume in the
tail to help the board carry speed through
turns. the pure thruster set up saves on
weight as the extra fin boxes offered on
last years wam have been removed. this
helps it to feel livelier whilst the three-fin
configuration keeps things fast and loose
on the wave. if you loved the pro series
of 2014, but aren’t quite ready for the
new csc design, then the new wam is
the board for you…
the woohoo has been wowing the ladies
for a few years now, and with good
reason. girls are usually lighter than guys,
and getting the right surfboard to suit
their weight is important. riding a board
that is too big will make it difficult to pro-
gress and they won’t feel as connected to
the wave. the woohoo takes all the bene-
fits of the excellent wam but puts them
into a smaller easier to manage package.
this makes it easier for lighter riders to
control, whatever the conditions! perfect
in all sizes of wave, the woohoo offers
excellent drive and grip. if you’re having
trouble with bigger boards, or just want
the ultimate surfboard for women, take a
look at the woohoo…

the popular whip from last year gets a
radical redesign for 2015; yet it still deli-
vers maximum performance in small to
medium sized waves. the board features
a wide stable platform making it easy to
ride, but also helping it to maintain speed
when on the wave. in choppy conditions
the new cork shock absorber helps to
smooth out the bumps and the rocker
line and rail shape combine to give a very
smooth ride. the whip is easy to ride
and designed to be forgiving and make
you look good on the water. if new school
strapless freestyle tricks are your favouri-
te pastime, then the whip offers excellent
control and agility in the air, it will stick to
your feet like glue. make the easy choice,
choose the whip.
if you have never ridden a nugget you
are missing out, there is a good reason
why this board is one of our bestselling
surfboards, it’s fun! the nugget is happy
on flat water, or ripping up small waves,
the flat rocker line and wide outline help
it to be one of the first boards to get
going in light winds too. the secret to
the nugget’s success is the clever double
concave bottom shape, which provides
excellent drive and light wind ability. in
the waves the V in the nose and tail help
to make it exceedingly manoeuvrable and
you’ll be amazed with how easy the board
is to carve. add a nugget to your collec-
tion; you’ll never have a wasted journey
to the beach again!

already the second season the 5’2”
nugget is also be offered in the brand
new north kiteboarding tough technolo-
gy construction. tough technology is the
new moulded technology that utilizes a
super tough top sheet similar to that used
in north kiteboarding twintips to create
an incredibly durable skin that is remar-
kably resistant to dings and scratches.
in short, the 5’2” tough technology
nugget offers the same great nugget
shape in a super durable construction!
same like its brother, the nugget tt is
a great light wind wave board, which
allows you to have fun in waves even if
conditions are not amazing. it´s easy to
do your first steps strapless and even
on flat water it will put a smile on your
face due to the planing performance and
the upwind strength. rough conditions –
tough technology!
the Quest in its second generation is
taking its dna from the wam of last year.
there are plenty of riders out there
looking to get their first surfboard for
kiting, or just looking to improve their
skills with a fast learning curve. the Quest
gives them that opportunity. the wide
point has been pushed further forward,
the width increased and the outline has
been straightened up a little to make the
board exceedingly stable on the water.
this helps it give the rider plenty of con-
fidence when learning jibes and switching
feet. you won’t grow out of the Quest
quickly though, it can handle waves of all
sizes and delivers lots of drive when you
need it. if you’ve been looking for the
perfect board to learn surfstyle on, your
Quest is over…

when you are racing at the front of the
fleet you need a board that offers the
ultimate in control. that is the focus
of the design process; control at high
speeds, control when jibing and control
on all points of sail. by adding a convex
shape to the front section of the nose,
harsh blows from chop are now softened
and stability at high speed has been im-
proved. in addition the centre rocker line
remains the same while the rail rocker has
been increased, this again improves stabi-
lity and enhances the performance when
jibing. the wide point has been moved a
little further forward to increase control
and early planing. the cut outs at the
back relieve pressure from the riders legs
and free up the board, with less stiction
to the water giving it unrivalled top end
speed. all of this adds up to a board that
is easier to ride and leaves the rider less
fatigued. the north kiteboarding race-
board will be at the front of the fleet; will
you be there with it?

This premium bag is a totally new concept, combining the
assets of the Combibag and Quiverbag. it is made from
extra tough material to withstand the countless miles of
travelling around the world.
The bag has a removable custom-padding inlay that en-
closes boards for maximum protection. The inlay can be
removed to save weight. The inside is divided into one big
compartment, a smaller fin/screw pocket integrated in the
top cover and a removable accessory bag. A plastic plate
reinforcement at the nose and tail gives extra protection
to these sensitive areas. The front handle can be opened
to attach the bag to e.g. an airport trolley.
