Nina L. Jones Graphic Design Class of 2017 I was born and raised mostly in Bridgeport and originally wanted to study creative writing. I have always been into creating as an artist, and more so as an author and poet. But finishing my high school career, I realized I liked to be more hands-on, and in all reality, I wanted to be able to make money doing something I loved; like anyone would. When interacting with professors and students, I realized that graphic design was something I had wanted to do. The professors cared about their students and took the time to get to know them, to inspire them... me for that matter. I felt supported because they work in the field every day and wanted us to succeed in that same way. Recently, I’ve freelanced remotely for SMSB consulting group in NY as a product retoucher. On a daily basis, I work as a freelancer under my own rules, working on saving for my personal studio as my clients are becoming consistent, and my name is becoming known. I was born and raised mostly in Bridgeport and originally wanted to study creative writing.

But of course, you can’t succeed without failing a few times. It isn’t supposed to be easy, it’ll be scary.

Challenge yourself. You’ll be amazed at what you can do.
