Over the years, whenever I’ve released a new
knitting book, I’ve heard crocheters say “I wish this werea crochet book”—even though I have written a few.
Well, crocheters . . . I’ve got you covered! When I created Nicky Epstein Knits For Dolls, I also designed 25 exclusive crochet
pieces for 18-inch dolls, which I hope the single-needle crowd will love.
I love dolls—who doesn’t—and have always found great joy knitting
and crocheting for them. Now that 18-inch dolls are soaring in popularity, they
need great-looking fashions, and I’ve designed for the dolls as I would for
the little girls (and big girls) who cherish them.
The garments in this book range from casual to high style and are easy
and fun, whether you’re crocheting for your dolls or for a special
“little one” with whom you might share the experience.
Although I am a better knitter than a crocheter, I love crochet and enjoyed
designing these pieces, as I hope you will enjoy making them.
The bulk of the designs were crocheted by my dear friend and fantastic crocheter
Jo Brandon. She always says, “If I can make them, anyone can.”
I hope Crochet for Dolls reassures crocheters everywhere that I have not
forgotten you, and that we belong to a special sisterhood (or brotherhood),
whether we use one needle or two. Happy crocheting!
