Company ProfilePetrin Corporation, founded in 1972, is a full-service merit shop indus-trial contractor with headquarters in Port Allen, Louisiana. In addition to insulation, painting, scaffolding, and fireproofing services, we also offer material distribution, fabrication, and removable covers through-out the Southeastern United States. Petrin also has offices in Arkansas and Texas.
Benefits of Belonging
NIA programs, such as the Insulation Energy Appraisal Program, have been beneficial to both our clients and our employees. The ability to network with NIA members in various parts of the country about simi-lar issues and shared knowledge has been invaluable. Not only have I met new colleagues, but I have also established friendships that will last a lifetime. Committee Days is another great resource for industry information.
NIA Value
Through NIA, Petrin has been able to keep up with the emerging trends in the insulation industry. Most importantly, rather than trying to speak just to our congressman, Petrin is part of a united voice on Capitol Hill, reaching a broad range of people who can make a difference in how our industry is included in energy efficiency initiatives.
Best Idea To Help My Business
The efforts NIA is making on Capitol Hill toward energy efficiency awareness and mechanical insulation maintenance and installation incentives will benefit not only Petrin but also the industry as a whole. Tools such as the Mechanical Insulation Design Guide and the insulation calculators give us the opportunity to quickly demonstrate the value of insulation to our customers.
Summary
I have found that although NIA members compete against each other every day, there are times such as Committee Days and the Convention where competition is left at the door and we come together for the bet-terment of our industry. We may not always agree, but in the end we strive toward the common goal. We at Petrin believe that giving back to our profession will make us a better company. Participating in NIA is an excellent way of being involved in our industry.
