Our founder apprenticed in Florence, Italy. Here, she learnt not only the

Duma, La Dolce Vita and Amos in Leopard Pony Hair

COLLABORATIONS

Inspired by Jonathan Liang’s Fall Winter 2014 collection the ‘God of

Wonders’, the second footwear collaboration is injected with bold

utilitarian spirit.

Mixing sporty-chic and urban coolness, the collection brings forth

gentry ankle boots in embossed alligator leather in black, white,

and mosaic-effect patent. The translucent PVC and metallic

hardware adds to the collection’s juxtaposition of grace and edginess.

Founded in 2012, Jonathan Liang is a designer label based in Paris.

Liang has teamed up with Uniqlo for “Feel the SEA” collaboration and Malaysian

high-street brand, Dude & the Duchess. To date, the label is presented as part

of L’Officiel Online’s ‘Les Conquistadors’ series and Asia’s Next Top Model.

female empowerment.

The capsule collection features single-soled sandals and

pumps, handcrafted in exotic python and water-snake

leather. Dosed in rich hues with bold color-blocking, it

aims to exude the sophisticated allure of power-dressing.

Justin Yap is a womenswear label based in Kuala Lumpur. Founded in 2007,

Yap approach fashion with much juxtaposition and simple principles of

construction and form. Yap has collaborated with international brands for

special projects and shows such as Triumph, Valisere, Redken and Maybelline.

Nelissa Hilman collaborated with a Malaysian artist, the late Sivam

Selvaratnam on a collection of original artworks in the form of shoes.

Bringing their expertise together, Nelissa Hilman designed shoes

which were then hand-painted and covered in digital printed textile

based on original artworks by Sivam Selvaratnam.

The collection was showcased in the artist’s solo exhibition entitled

“Rapt in Maya” at the University of Malaya Art Gallery in Kuala Lumpur

in 2012 and is currently showcasing in the joint exhibition entitled,

“The Art of Fine Fabrics” at the Bank Negara Museum and Art

Gallery (the Central Bank of Malaysia) until September 2014.

Sivam Selvaratnam (1937-2014) is one of Malaysia’s most senior and pioneering visual

artist. She was a leading and active member of the influential Wednesday Art Group

(WAG), founded in 1952, in the then Federation of Malaya, which shaped contemporary

Malaysian modern art and produced many of Malaysia’s top artists. Her

paintings today can be found in the permanent collections of the Bank

Negara of Malaysia Museum and Art Gallery (the Central Bank of Malaysia),

the Malaysia National Art Gallery and the American Embassy in Kuala Lumpur.

Nelissa Hilman collaborated with Swarovski for the Malaysian

International Shoe Festival 2014. The special collection displayed

two show-pieces using Italian leather in Swarovski jet crystal fabric.

The White Wrangler pump has gold geometric accents in its

otherwise conservative nude lining. This theme of tactical

accenting of the ordinary is continued throughout the shoe, most

notably with bold canary yellow and Swarovski jet motifs

on its front and heel respectively.

The Egee Brio d’Orsay pump is playful with its use of colors and

patterns of dots and stripes in the Swarovski crystals for a more

daring and youthful feel.

Bridging boundaries between art, design and architecture,

Nelissa Hilman explored digital tools within the world of design with

an ambitious goal to tailor a novel and futuristic shoe, resulted in a

3D printed shoe, Aggregated.

The collaboration with [Ay]A Studio seek to explore the

encyclopedia of construction studies developing physical,

acquiring a higher degree of formal precision and spatial complexity,

embracing micro and macro systems embodied within the shoe.

[Ay]A Studio is a global design laboratory based in Paris committed to cutting edge

research and material experimentation across scales in both theoretical and professional

praxis. Since 2012, [Ay]A Studio have collaborated with Louis Vuitton and United Nude.
