Adopt Coop Park!

Help Adopt Coop Park. The City of Vancouver offers individuals and/or neighborhoods an opportunity to adopt their neighborhood park. Tasks that we can do include:

* pulling weeds and invasive species

* light trimming of brush

* clean play equipment * spread bark chips

(provided by the city) * possible planting of

new shrubs

This is a great opportunity to meet your neighbors and do something good for our park.

Interested individuals, please email Heather (neighborhood president) at [email protected] for more information.

We hope to have our first park clean-up event in July!

Neighbors!! Let’s Clean-Up!!

NGHNA is joining efforts with Waste Connections providing our yearly Clean-Up event! Follow signs July 16 off 87th Ave to PeaceHealth Southwest Washington Medical Center north parking lot for the event staffed by volunteers from NGHNA and the previous Forest Ridge Neighborhood Association. Hours are 8 a.m.-2 p.m. Bulky waste and yard debris containers are provided by Waste Connections.

• Scrap metal disposal will also be provided and benefit the neighborhood association with funds returning for scrap metal received. • An area for Habitat for Humanity will be on site to collect reusable items. As in previous years, there will be a free for all collection area for anyone to leave items that might find a new home and shop for something to take home with you!

To make sure our Clean-Up runs smoothly, please note the following:

• Please DO NOT fill your yard debris carts with rocks and dirt and bring them to the neighborhood cleanup. As you might imagine, these are SUPER HEAVY and nearly impossible to lift. To prevent injuries, please bring heavy materials like this in smaller containers. • Please DO NOT bring REALLY LARGE things like boats and hot tubs. The rear load garbage trucks cannot accommodate them. They should be hauled directly to the transfer station. • Please come prepared to unload what you bring (i.e. leather gloves and tools to unload blackberries, etc). Volunteers will be there to help, but they can’t do it all. Neighborhood volunteers please call Heather at 360-944-0625 for schedule preference. This is a fun event benefitting all. Please join in the fun and Clean-Up!
