Krings Bergbahnen GmbH
Projects 2014
We thought you might be interested to hear about a selection of our
most notable projects. This is a very intense and important period for
us, and our teams have been working on the various sites for days.
The large amount of work we have to do is a sure sign that our clients
The managers of the Krings ski area were pioneers in the artificial snow sec-
tor, installing their first snowmaking machine in 1985. At the time it was only
possible to install a manual system, which was then partially expanded in the
1990s. It is therefore now high time to completely refurbish the system. Ap-
proximately 1 million euros was set aside to purchase and install the cutting-
edge machinery. Krings’ management is relying on cooperation with the
Leitner group for a complete makeover of the ski area’s infrastructure.
DEMACLENKO builds a pumping station with five vacuum pumps with a total power of 275 kW and a 60 l/s capacity. There are also 5 high pressure pumps, with the same total power of 1,750 kW. Two have a 490 m head, and the other three have a 270 m head. The project is rounded off by two self-cleaning filters and several snow guns that include snowVisual, the software that allows you to manage water, air, time and energy extremely ef-ficiently. At DEMACLENKO we have created the right conditions for an outstanding winter season.

Murtal Seilbahnen Betriebs GmbH
In Kreischberg, Austria, in the Murtal ski area, significant funding has been
made available in preparation for the forthcoming Freestyle Ski & Snow-
board World Championships, which it will host in 2015. 9 million euros has
been set aside for creating new ski lift and snowmaking facilities, ensuring the
area is prepared for the big event and equipped with cutting-edge technol-
ogy and products. Murtal did not deprive itself of the latest comfort: snowVis-
ual software, which allows engineers to keep everything running smoothly
from a remote position, including any old products in the facility not produced
by DEMACLENKO.
Very soon we at DEMACLENKO will deliver 25 automatic mo-bile Titans, and completely renovate the pumping station, equipped with five 270 kW vacuum pumps with a 600 l/s ca-pacity. There will also be three high-pressure pumps with a total power of 1,500 kW and a 180 l/s capacity. In addition to the pumps, six double 50 l/s Cooling System towers will be installed, with a power of 2 x 15 kW per tower, as well as two 60 kW bubbling system compressors.
appreciate our products, and shows what we are capable of producing.
Thanks to their trust in our ability, we can create additional strong partner-
ships, above and beyond those already in place. Enjoy!

DOLOMITENAlta Pusteria
SEXTNERDOLOMITEN
Sextner Dolomiten AG
One of our largest and most impor-
tant projects in Alto Adige involves
the Sesto ski area in the Pustertal
valley. The link between Croda and
Elmo is costing a good 27 million
euros, and involves a railway con-
nection, similar to that found in Per-
ca in Plan de Corones. The newly-
equipped “Sextner Dolomiten” will
boast 30 ski lifts and 90 km of piste,
with a snowmaking system com-
prising 100 DEMACLENKO snow
guns. Our engineers assure us that
whilst it currently takes two weeks
to produce enough artificial snow,
with the new guns the time required
will be cut to an incredible 60 hours
(roughly two and a half days). The
cherry on the cake is a new water
supply system, which our engineers
have designed specifically to meet
the client’s needs. The PS 300, which is currently under construction, and will comprise two high pressure 75 kW pumps and have a total capacity of 50 l/s. Approximately 8,000 metres of pipe will also be laid this summer.

Silvretta Montafon Bergbahnen AG
An agreement has just been signed between DEMACLENKO and the man-
agement of the Silvretta Montafon ski area in Austria to expand the existing
facilities and build a completely new system in Montafon on the Hochjoch
pass. Once the pistes have been widened and equipped with new ski lifts, the
next step will be the installation of a powerful and modern artificial snow-
making machine. Approximately 2.5 million euros have been earmarked for
this objective, and DEMACLENKO was chosen as the partner for the new
development. From this winter Montafon will be the latest location to boast
DEMACLENKO snow, and we will be on hand to assist our client with any
requirements they have throughout the season.
Our work schedule involves a new pumping station with a total capacity of 300 l/s, and our Cooling System, which will cool 120 litres of water per second. The new fleet of snow guns at Silvretta Montafon will feature 57 Vis and Vis Up lances and 80 Titan, Titan S and Ventus guns. Silvretta’s snow engineers will be able to manage the entire system remotely using snowVisual, our software that helps keep consumption levels and performance under control.

Engadin St. Moritz Mountains AG
The excellent relationship forged between our Swiss branch, headed by Peter
Widmer, and the Engadin St. Moritz Mountains AG ski area has been further
strengthened by a project to build an artificial lake at Lej Alv. With a capac-
ity of 400,000 m³, the lake will be the largest of its kind in Switzerland. As
well as building the lake, the teams on our sites have other projects lined up,
to ensure the upcoming season on the peaks of the Engandin gets off to the
perfect start.
Two years ago DEMACLENKO built a pumping sta-tion for St. Moritz Mountains AG equipped with 14 pumps, seven of which had a total power of 2,500 kW, plus four 220 kW vacuum pumps and three 225 l/s capacity pumps for the cooling towers. In addition, two 60 kW bubbling system compressors were installed.

Silvretta Seilbahn AG
Work is in full swing in the Tyrolese ski district of Ischgl to ensure that tourists
arriving for the coming winter season are given the best possible welcome.
With a new cable car built, they now plan to expand the piste at Silvretta,
which leads directly to Ischgl. This project would not be complete without a
new snowmaking machine. Indeed, 11 Titan Silents have been ordered,
mounted on a 4.2 m inclined tower. The € 320,000 investment is also go-
ing towards a wireless modem for smartphones and tablets, to be used
to conveniently manage the entire facility remotely. With a DEMACLENKO-
branded iPad, the Silvretta Seilbahn engineers will be able to control their
facility wherever they are, using a simple and high-tech tool.
Titan Silent was chosen for its low noise emissions, which makes it suitable for use when the pistes are near built-up areas, as is the case with Silvretta Seilbahn.

Passo Sella
Surrounded by breathtaking scenery, the
DEMACLENKO team is working on a
second project at the Sella Pass in Alto
Adige. The job is to renovate a facility cre-
ated by Demac in the 1990s, before its
merger with Lenko. New Z160 fibreglass
pits will be installed, and a new pipeline
will be created. One important change
will be that from next winter the venue’s
snowmaking machines, built by Cappa-
dozzi, will be managed remotely using
snowVisual software. It’s looking like
being a highly successful winter season.

Brauneck und Wallbergbahnen GmbH
22 perfectly honed pistes and 17 ski lifts await visitors to Brauneck, providing
an extensive, varied choice to suit all tastes. Their relationship with DEMAC-
LENKO began last year, when we provided 30 pits and 30 lances, including
snowVisual software. But that was only the start. 30 pits, 20 lances and
three snow guns have been ordered, to ensure the over 21 hectare of pistes
at the famous Bavarian ski resort have the required quantity of snow.
