Vision StatementA welcoming faith community
We value relationshipsWe pursue excellence in learning
We live the Gospel message of love
PrayerLord Jesus Christ, our true physician and healer, be merciful to us and bring us
your aid in these troubled times. Heal all our sickness and every affliction of
your people. Drive out our infirmities of soul and body; free us from all disease
and especially from this pestilence. We place in your gentle Heart the elderly,
the frail, people with disability, children, young people and families, our
indigenous peoples, those who are poor, lonely and isolated. As you walk with
us, free them from fear, and give them patience and hope together with our
loving care. In your mercy deal also with the causes of our pitiful condition,
that in curing our lack of faith and spiritual weakness, you may also remedy
our bodily ills. We place our trust in you, the risen Lord, who lives and reigns
for ever and ever. Amen.
From the PrincipalDear Parents, Students and Friends,A great deal has changed since my last newsletter two weeks ago. With thetightening of restrictions around human contact and the need for socialdistancing, this week we have only had an average of about twenty students atschool each day. While there were some initial teething problems with theonline learning system, I have had a great deal of positive feedback from

parents on how well the activities are working at home. I would like to thankthe St Mary’s staff for putting together a quality online option, parents for yourpatience and understanding and students for being flexible. I have also heard afew stories of children really struggling with the online learning. Pleaseencourage your children to ask teachers any questions online that they have, and parents, don’t hesitate to let teachers know so any issues can be resolved. You probably have implemented your own rules at home around learningalready but, if you do need some help, here are some tips:
Use a visual timetable that gives children a routine or schedule.RoutinesBuild in breaksWrite notes, ask questions at the end of worksheets/packages. “Whathave you learnt today?”
With the recent changes to term dates from Premier Mark McGowan, Term 1now finishes this Friday, 3 April. School and online learning will resume onTuesday 28 April (a day earlier than planned). Please stay safe and enjoy the time with your families and I look forward to usall being together again as a school community in the not too distant future.
God blessPaul CroninPrincipal

Mud Kitchen ArrivesA huge thank you to Dave Rusconi who is one of our Kindy dads who has made
a spectacular ‘Mud Kitchen’ for our Kindy and Pre-Primary students to enjoy. A
few weeks ago, Dave volunteered for ‘Parent Help’ and he asked Mrs Anika
Skehan if there was anything else he could do to assist? It was then that the
mud kitchen idea was suggested and this week….it was delivered!
An Engineering Project with a DifferenceStudents were put into teams and given some newspaper and some masking
tape and they were asked to create a structure for one of their group to go
into. The students gathered their ideas and planned what that their structure
would look like. The finished projects were very clever.
