Storm water drain with an estimated cost of Rs.25.00
Lakh is in progress at Koel Nagar, Ward No.28. This is
one of Major Storm water drain at Shakti Nagar will
facilitate smooth discharge of storm water during rainy
season.
On dt. 12th June 2016 a meeting on World day against child
labour was organized in the conference hall of Rourkela
Municipal Corporation under the chairmanship of Smt.
Monisha Banerjee, IAS, ADM, Rourkela and Administrator of
Rourkela Municipal Corporation. Addl. District Judge,
Rourkela Civil Court was the chief guest/ Sub Divisional,
Judicial was chief speaker. NGO’s Disha participated in the
seminar and placed their speeches on Child Labour.

In-House smart city sensitization meeting was held on dt.
01.06.2016 at Rourkela Municipal Corporation Council Hall
under the chairmanship of Municipal Commissioner. All the
officials and staff of RMC were present. Smart City challenged
Round-II activities were discussed in the meeting. Municipal
Commissioner, RMC requested to give more likes, comments
& suggestion in the facebook and MyGov web portal for Smart
City Rourkela.

Seminar on One Year Completion of AMRUT
The seminar was inaugurated by Executive Engineer, RMC, Executive Engineer, PHEO, Project
Engineer, OWSSB by lighting the candle. The Project Officer, RMC has delivered inaugural
address and Executive Engineer, RMC, Executive Engineer, PHEO, Project Engineer, OWSSB, was
gave their presentation of progress on AMRUT in Rourkela. In this occasion officials, citizens,
public representative, press, media were present and discussed on progress of AMRUT in
Rourkela.
Training of ANMs on Community Process & UHND (Urban Health & Nutrition Day)

As a part of initiative to construct covered drain to facilitate
pedestrian walking path. The project cost of foot path drain from
Mangal Singh Road to Civil Township near Vesaj Patel with an
estimated cost of Rs. 50.00 Lakhs. The project was taken up as
per specific component under 4th SFC grant.
As per Govt. Instruction, A seminar on one year completion of
AMRUT (Atal Mission Rejuvenation Urban Transformation)
Scheme has been organized at Panthaniwas, Rourkela on
dt.25.06.2016. In this Seminar, Executive Engineer, RMC,
Executive Engineer, PHEO, Project Engineer, OWSSB, Project
Officer, RMC were on dais. Sub-collector, Panposh was the chief
guest in the occasion.
With the active initiation, National Urban Health Mission,
Rourkela has successfully conducted 2 days Training of ANMs on
Community Process & UHND of Urban ANM of Rourkela on 6th &
7th June and 9th & 10th June 2016 in two batches where 50 nos. of
ANM were participated. In this training special emphasis was
given on some key topics such as: Community process activities
like- Mahila Arogya Samiti, Ward Kalyan Samiti, ASHA etc. and
on Urban Health & Nutrition Day. The training was based on
both thematic and skill based training where demonstration was
done by Dr. D.K. Sahoo, O & G Specialist on Anti Natal Care (ANC)
of pregnant women, different test of UHND etc. to enhance the
skills of the participants on particular area for effective service
delivery at field level.

Desk Appraisal of NGOs for Implementation of Various Projects under NUHM
The Desk Appraisal of different NGOs applied for Community Process, Mobile Health Unit and Management of
UPHC in KFA mode was initiated in District Programme Management Unit, Sundargarh by the District NGO
committee Members. Once the Desk Appraisal get completed the Field Appraisal will be initiated for the
shortlisted NGOs with due approval of District NGO Committee for onward submission to Mission Directorate,
NHM, Odisha for accordance of approval by the State NGO Committee.
Quarterly Executive Committee Meeting of City Health Society, NUHM, Rourkela
and key health messages, distribution of I-Card to ANMs and CPMU staffs, Assessment of functioning status of
drug kit and HBNC kit of ASHAs, follow up for final estimation of UPHC, Koelnagar and UCHC, Panposh and
acceleration of construction of UPHC through timely follow up with the executing agency. The 1st GB (Governing
Body) & CHM (City Health Mission) meeting to be convened during July-2016 which was approved by the
committee.

A joint monitoring visit to the immunization sites such as: Bhabanipur and
Mundari Basti AWC was conducted on Dtd: 22/06/2016 by Dr. Santosh Kumar
Sahoo, Surveillance Medical Officer, WHO, Sambalpur unit and Mr. Niku Ranjan
Pratihary, CPM, NUHM with Mr. Himansu Sekhar Barik, PA, NUHM, Rourkela to
monitor the service provided in sub center level. During the visit the team
interacted with the HW (F), ASHA, AWW and the beneficiaries regarding the
immunization done in the site. Dr. Sahoo provided some key tips to the HW (F)
for effective management of the session, proper maintenance of the records
and registers etc.
With the support of District level NGO- SANTI and RRDC, under IEC/BCC activity National Urban Health Mission, Rourkela is undertaking Slum Sensitization Meeting cum Folk Media Show in 46 nos. of Slums in Rourkela City from 22nd June 2016. The main objective of the program was to create awareness among the slum dwellers of the city on the different entitlement of NUHM, Fixed day activities, Non Communicable Disease, Community Process activities, MDD (Malaria, Dengue & Diarrhea) etc. The event is being done in two part i.e. at first the HW (F) will have a brief discussion with the participants on above mentioned topics and then the cultural troupes will perform on the same.
A joint visit was conducted by Sri. Dilip Ray, Hon’ble MLA, Rourkela with
SDMO cum Nodal Officer, NUHM, Rourkela and City Programme
Manager, NUHM, Rourkela on Dtd: 05/06/2016 to assess the progress
of the construction work of Urban Primary Health Centre, NUHM,
Rourkela in different sites such as- Balughat, Chhend, Koelnagar,
Bondamunda and DAVMAC, Basanti Colony, Rourkela.
The Quarterly Executive Committee Meeting of City Health Society, NUHM,
Rourkela was conducted on Dtd: 10/06/2016 under the Chairmanship of
Municipal Commissioner cum Chair Person, City Health Society, NUHM,
Rourkela in his office chamber in presence of other designated members. The
different agenda such as- Review on physical and financial activities (2015-
16) of NUHM activities and the activities undertaken as per the resolution
made during last EC Meeting were reviewed. The action plan for the coming
