Humanity above all Humans are God’s gift and that’s why everyone has the same body and the soul. Hatred leads nowhere while love and caring goes a long way. Man has no right to decide which religion is the best. The mother earth is created and she has seen herself being divided both naturally (into sub continents) and then selfishly (into countries). She had never thought that a day would come one when she would be divided by her own children on the basis of caste, creed and religion. When a child is born, he has no knowledge about himself or about the environment around him. He is an innocent soul with a heart to love and not to hate. He can be moulded whichever way parents want. He learns discrimination, hatred when he grows up in the society with people around him. The people in the society should set an example to teach values to the children, to be humane, to help others. One should learn from the earth to be calm, helpful against all adverse situations. Instead, we forget the purpose of our life for what we have been created. We should remember that we belong to nature and we cannot survive fighting with each other and it is on us to decide what we are going to give our next generation- hatred or love? The choice is solely ours!! Rashika Agrawal VI F
Winners win, Winners lose but Winners play
Sportsmanship is an aspiration or ethos with proper consideration for fairness, ethics, respect and values. There are certain elements of sportsmanship which includes good form, will to win, equity and fairness. All elements are critical and balance must be there amongst them for the sake of fellowship with ones competitors. These elements may also create conflict as a person may desire to win more than play in equity and fairness thus resulting in a clash. When athletes become self centered than idea of sportsmanship is dismissed. Life is also just like a game, sometime you win, sometime you lose. Participating in various games and sports develop the sportsmanship spirit and the students learn to accept victories and failure with grace. It’s really good that you win but if you lose than desire to win continue you with hard training. You learn persistence, teamwork, cooperation and develop confidence to face adverse situation. This way you achieve victory. The happiness of victory is enjoyed only after repeated failures.
Ms Anshu Chopra Faculty, Science Department, Senior School
Humanity above all Humanity can be defined as quality of being human; the peculiar nature of man, by which he is distinguished from other beings. Being human does not mean that an individual possesses humanity. According to Mother Teresa, humanity means caring for and helping others whenever and wherever possible, humanity means helping others at times when they need help the most, humanity means forgetting your selfish interests at times when others need your help, humanity means extending unconditional love to each and every living being on earth. A perfect example of humanity can be demonstrated by this story. A king with a kind heart once saw a pigeon and an eagle fighting. He had the ability of communicating with the birds and the animals. The pigeon asked the king to save him from the eagle. The eagle asked the king to give him the equal amount of flesh to the weight of the flesh of the pigeon. After donating a little bit of his flesh, he still found the pigeon heavier. Finally, he surrendered himself to the eagle. At that moment only, the Eagle and the pigeon turned into angels who appeared on the earth to test the extent of the king’s humanity. Prithesh Bijlani VI F
World -A Global Village
The world into a big global village due to the very fast and effective means of travel and communication and helped man in conquering time and space to bring nations of the world closer to one another. Now the people of the world feel far more closer to one another than in the past, however, separated by vast distances. There is a need of a change of fundamental nature before we can speak of a truly one global and peaceful village. In poor countries people struggle to make their both ends meet. They are deprived of basic needs like potable water, primary health care, shelter etc. Unless the rich nations share their wealth and resources with the nations of the third WORLD, there cannot be a real global village or united One WORLD. The Greatest Virtue Humility is the greatest virtue. It is the quality of not being proud. A person who possesses this quality is humble and the master of himself. He is not stubborn and is ready to accept other people's advice and learn from their experiences. A proud person gets annoyed easily, when somebody or something offends him. Whereas a humble person doesn't get easily angry. He admits his mistakes and short -comings politely. A proud person doesn't admit his faults easily. He gets annoyed and blames others for his own mistakes. He is stubborn, angry and doesn't value others’ suggestions or ideas. Pride and anger, meekness and humility are human attitudes. Attitudes are expressions of a person and are developed or cultivated slowly over a number of years. They indicate the mental makeup and the upbringing of a person. I end up with the quote-‘Humility is not thinking less of yourself, but thinking about yourself less’. Jahnavi Mohta Class: IV D
Being Humble
Humility is the quality of being humble. It means
the recognition of self in relation to God and acceptance of our defects. According to Gandhiji, humility is an essential virtue that must exist in a
person for other virtues to emerge. Truth and love can be cultivated but humility cannot be cultivated. It has to be one of the starting points. Sincere humility is how we feel from within, a state of mind. Humility comes by doing what we ought to do, and not seeking anything in return. No praises, no applaud. Just the satisfaction of having done it is our reward. People think being humble means groveling in front of others or thinking they are no good and others are better. But God says that when you are humble, you are free from pride and arrogance. When we’re humble, we can respond and learn from criticisms without becoming
defensive. We can ask for forgiveness and talk with the right attitude. So we can summarize humility as accepting our own defects, showing it in front of people and learning from our own mistakes. We should not insist on rights but work on wrongs to make them right. Mrs. Namrata Johari
Teacher Primary
Humility
It is very well said that-Actions speak louder than words. So, humility should not be confused with arrogance as there is a thin line between them. Humility is a state of mind which strengthens a person and provides him a path to lead a peaceful life without compromising on his ethics and values. It is in human nature and cannot be taught. As it is a saying that a mother is the first teacher of a child, so it becomes the utmost responsibility of parents and family to make a child humble as well as confident at the same time. Humility is acknowledging parents, teachers or team members for being successful. It is the ability to listen to others’ opinions and react sensibly. Humility does not make a person weak but instead makes a person a polite speaker with positive attitude and defuse arguments. Humility and kindness are the two virtues which are required the most in this fast and technically advanced environment where human nature is losing its value over materiality.
Mrs. Rinki Rajpal Mother of Arshika Rajpal Class: Junior Montessori

Quit Ego; Construct Humility
Humility is the quality of being humble. It is the quality of keeping one’s self under control. A person who possesses this quality is humble and meek and is ready to accept at her people’s advice and learn from their experience. Humility is not thinking less of ourselves but, thinking of ourselves less. Mahatma Gandhi is an example of what a humble leader can accomplish; the society serves to benefit from this kind of governance. We must quit ego and construct humility as we cannot gain anything being egoistic: rather we become aggressive, manipulate others, express dishonesty and destroy resources. Instead, we should take responsibility and correct our mistakes. We must listen to others’ ideas, and keep our abilities in humble perspective. Humility is good for us and our relationships, wherein people show greater generosity, helpfulness and gratitude. We must always remember to keep a healthy dose of humility in our lives. By doing so, we are constantly keeping ourselves in a check with others around us, and at the same time, we are opening ourselves up to continue learning and growing as a person.
Ms. Satpreet Kaur Saluja Teacher - Junior Montessori
Humility
Humility is the crown of victory. It is the quality of keeping oneself under control. A person who possesses
this quality is a master of himself. Humility means understanding that the delights, pains and needs of
others that are as important as our own. Humility implies gentleness and kindness. A humble person always
gives importance and takes into consideration the views of others. On the other hand, a proud person is
self centred and dominant. A humble person is not hot headed and he can be approached easily. He is
optimistic and always sees the bright side of things. Humility is the strength to put others before
ourselves. Nobody is perfect in this world. Everybody loses and makes mistakes sometimes but it is
important to use those hands as a policy for growth. It is a fact that when we are most humble, that time
we are the most comfortable to take feedbacks and guidance from others. We must try to make this world
a better place by clothing ourselves with humility.
