NAPLAN online allows for a longer time for testing. Students have been practising the tests on the computers. For ease of testing the students have been placed in 3 groups. All tests except the writing test for year 3 students is completed on line. This writing test is on paper. Please let your children know that there is nothing to worry about. The tests are just the same as the work they do in class. They do their best with the questions and do all of the ones that they know and go back to the ones they are not sure of and try again.

NAPLAN Reports will be sent home to parents. Please keep these in a safe place as you may need them for your child’s high school enrolment.

Mothers’ Day Celebrations Our Kindergarten and Pre Primary classes are having Mother’s Day celebrations. PPA & PPB on Thursday, 9th May at 1.50pm for the mums and children. Kindy Emu group on Wednesday 8th May and the Kangaroo group on Thursday. Both groups start at 2pm to 2.40pm. We wish all of our mums a Happy Mothers’ Day.

Rhonda Spencer Principal This term our Virtue is Self-Discipline. Self-discipline is a virtue that develops over time and is different things at different ages.

Student absences from school It is that time of the term when students start to get colds etc and take more time of school due to absences.

reason for your child’s absence, the phone number is

RSL CITY OF COCKBURN ANZAC

YOUTH PARADE AND SERVICE

On Thursday 11th April, our Year 6 students attended the annual RSL CITY OF COCKBURN ANZAC YOUTH PARADE AND SERVICE, to commemorate the 104th anniversary of the Gallipoli landing in 1915 and those that gave their lives in defence of our country. Samson Primary School was one of 27 schools in the city of Cockburn to attend. Mr Evans, Mrs Clark and Ms Sloan would like to acknowledge our students for their exemplary, respectful behaviour throughout the service. Special mention must go to our wreath layers, Sebastian Whitaker and Sophie Patching and also to Max Davis from Room 10 who had the honour of reading the ANZAC Resolution for the entire congregation. Well done Max!

We are very proud of all of you. Mrs Clark
