Large orders from the aviation industry and expanding sales markets in the automotive sector are boosting the market right now. Aluminium is currently the metal with the strongest demand and growth. This strong performance was also reflected at this year‘s ALUMINIUM: the trade fair posted record numbers of both exhibitors and visitors for the ninth time in succession.
Just how rosy the sector’s prospects are, is shown by the business confidence survey we commissioned from an independent market research company for ALUMINIUM. The results of this show that just over 60 percent of the companies surveyed are expecting to see a further increase in demand, with a further 30 percent assuming that the current favourable economic climate will continue at at least the same level.
All the indicators – key production figures, proces-sing quantities and current capacity increases – show that global demand is set to remain at a high level. And ALUMINIUM will be tracking this develop-ment. This includes setting up a new event in one of the key markets: the USA. The preparations for

ALUMINUM USA are underway and the first event is already scheduled for next year. This closes a further gap as part of our “ALUMINIUM goes global” strategy.
The next ALUMINIUM show in Düsseldorf will be held from 29 November to 1 December 2016. This is admittedly late – but unfortunately there was no alternative. The busy schedule at the Düsseldorf Exhibition Centre in 2016 means that this is the best option. From 2018 the ALUMINIUM show will be held again in October as usual. The late slot in 2016 has not, however, had a negative impact on stand bookings. More than two thirds of the available space has already been firmly booked or reserved. We would like to express our sincere thanks to you, the exhibitors and visitors, for this vote of confidence.

Top decision makers inform themselves about new trends and make decisions about purchases and investments.
Every third visitor came to the fair with a firm intention to purchase. The complete investments of our visitors were € 7.4 billion.
67 %of the visitors placed direct orders during ALUMINIUM 2014 or planned to do so immediately after the event. Among foreign visitors, the figure of those was even 73 %.
