Principals Report I would like to wish Mrs Anderson all the best whilst she waits on the birth of baby number 2 and welcome Mrs Hubner back to full time teaching on 5/6AH. I am very concerned about the use of social media in our students age group. I ask parents to please monitor and be vigilant in their childs use of social media. Most platforms require a person to be over 13 years of age to use. The eSafety Commissioner is aware of reports about a video circulating on social media platforms. ESafety has contacted social media companies about the reports and will continue working with them to monitor the situation. It would be advisable for parents and carers to keep their children off all social media for the next couple of days. Please contact IPS if you have any concerns regarding your child's wellbeing. Additionally, the following services are available: * Kids Helpline. 1800 55 1800. Phone support is there all day, every day. Online support is open from 8am-midnight every day (AEST). * eHeadspace. 1800 650 890. Open 9am-1am daily (AEST). * Lifeline. 13 11 14. Phone support all day, every day. Warm Regards Mrs Ally Campbell Principal Tell Them From Me student survey: Information and consent form for parents and carers This term, your school is taking part in the Tell Them From Me student survey. The survey will provide us with valuable feedback on what our students think about school life, how engaged they are with school and the different ways that teachers interact with them. Schools in Australia and around the world have used the Tell Them From Me survey to help them improve. The survey is completed on-line and is run by an independent research company, The Learning Bar, which specialises in school-based surveys. Staff in schools will not be able to identify individual students from their responses. To ensure confidentiality, participating students will receive a unique username and password. Where fewer than five students respond to a question, the results will be suppressed. The survey typically takes 30 minutes or less to complete and will be administered by the school during normal school hours. Once the surveys are completed by students, reports are prepared and in most cases are available to schools within three business days. This survey will help our school better understand how to improve student wellbeing and engagement. It will help the school identify what works to improve student outcomes. Participating in the survey is entirely voluntary. Your child will not take part if either you or your child do not wish. If, during the survey, your child is uncomfortable, he/she can choose to stop the survey at any time. The majority of questions in the survey can be skipped. If you do not want your child to take part in the survey, please complete the form sent home on Monday and return it by Friday 11 September. Spotlight on the Mini Olympics Early Stage One had a fabulous time at the mini Olympics. We represented Tonga, France, Germany and Scotland in events including an obstacle course, pool noodle javelin, bean bag shot put and hurdles. All Olympians were winners and received a gold medal for excellence.

Stage One also participated in the Mini Olympics. We had such an exciting time representing our countries and dressing up in their flag colours. Some of our countries were Japan, Brazil, South Africa and Canada. Students proudly wore their colours and flags on their backs for the day. All students completed sporting events such as running races, egg and spoon races, frisbee throwing and the infamous tug of war, where 2S and 1H competed for the gold medal. An outstanding time was had by all.

Stage 2 students had a fantastic time at their mini Olympics hurling gumboots, putting bean bags and jumping great distances. The tug-of-war and relay competitions were hotly contested, with Tuvalu and USA dominating the relay. Congratulations to Equatorial Guinea, who won the tug-of-war and overall point score. A

special mention needs to go to Egypt for their fantastic cheering, Kenya for their amazing flags and Uganda for their honesty and sportsmanship.

Stage 3 had an excellent time at the mini Olympics. Each class chose a country and these consisted of Jamaica, Greece, Australia, Italy, Monaco and Sao Tome and Princi-pe. Students researched Olympic history and their chosen country. Stage 3 participated in various activities including gum boot toss, pool noodle, javelin, ball games, tug-o-war and relays.
