Presidents Message – November 2016The Fall Color Tour was once again a great hit. The tour route explored new roads and the colors were ex-traordinary. If you would like to host the 2017 Ladies “T” and Gentlemen’s tour, Christmas Party, or other? – Contact the Tour Director.

Dudley and Kelly Stone are planning a Chico overnighter for 2017, and Mike and Jean Chirhart have volun-teered to host the 2018 overnighter.

At the November meeting we will present and vote on the slate of new officers for the club. It is not too late to volunteer if you would like to serve in any of the positions.

Model T’s do not do good sitting in the garage for any extended period of time so if you want to plan a flash tour, just contact Steve Vining and he will let everyone know on the website and you will be surprised how many people will join you.Have a great November.Richard Chuck

Redwood Trees to Pacific SeasNational Tour 2018

We have done it! We have chosen a name for our National Tour by ballot from the REMTC members. It is: “Redwood Trees to Pacific Seas”. Now that we have the name, we will be sub-mitting our DBA, doing business as, to the county. Once we have approval from the county, we will be able to use our tour name for all bank business. Lloyd Butler will be leading the committee to develop the logo using the tour name.Andy Clary is working to get his tour committee together to explore the many different ideas. His problem remains which tour routes to use as we have so many great destinations in so-noma County. The plan is to have the Club’s 2017 monthly tours incorporating tour routes we plan to use. Looking forward to testing what the team comes up with.

Happy Thanksgiving to all our member Families

Sweaters with a pleated skirt and a clouche hat and you are ready for a Model T Winter ride in style. You don’t have to spend a fortune to dress in vintage clothing. Thrift stores and your own closet may hold a surprise to make a cute outfit for a tour.

With shows and movies like Downton Abbey making a splash in pop culture, Edwardian clothing has soared in popularity. However, there is an important history to Ed-wardian clothing that is sometimes forgotten. Edwardian clothing allowed women to stray away from the constrict-ing and unhealthy Victorian corset. This style offered more comfortable, versatile clothes that let women remain ac-tive.The Edwardian era began in 1901, and its styles strayed away from the previously established norms of the last 100 years. More so than in the Victorian era, it was common to see Edwardian women sporting blouses and skirts instead of full ensembles. Women also commonly wore natural-waist dresses that didn't require hoops or as many petti-coats as traditional Victorian clothes. In fact, some were completely straight sheath dresses that required few (if any) petticoats. This was incredibly important to note as women's fashion continued to change and skirts eventu-ally became shorter in the 1920s.

Fall Color Tour17 Model T’s gathered at the parking lot in Sebastopol for do-nuts. It was a big group for our last planned tour of the year. Dan & Mary McEachern came from the East Bay in their speedster. They trailered to the Nelson’s in Petaluma and the two speedsters arrived together. We left to traverse the back roads to Wind-sor to park in the town square and see the Scarecrow Festival,(which didn’t occur). Not to worry because Chris Rich treated us all to ice cream at Powell’s candy and ice cream par-lor. It was a bit cool but the ice cream was delicious. As we left Windsor, we were sure to catch a few round-abouts just to keep the Vinings in practice.

We traveled most of the East side vineyards of Sonoma County. The Alexander Valley, Chalk Hill Road, Fraught Road provided color and great Model T Roads. We reached our destination at Shiloh Park and our reserved picnic site. We missed a few folks and realized that The Trouble Truck took the McEachern’s to the Nelson’s home and Con Far-audo needed a little assistance but made it all the way to the picnic site. Bill & Fern Newlin did a great job as Trouble Truck drivers and all made it in time for Pumpkin Pie and whipped cream.

Special thanks to Chris Rich who did the lion’s share of the work for the tour that Ginny usually enjoys plan-ning. Health issues popped up and Chris stepped in to finish the details for the tour!

“Till next year, thanks to all who at-tended and Sonoma County loves to “Watch the Ford’s Go By.”
