The symbol for the Earth is ¿¿¿¿¿ rep-resenting the globe with its horizonand meridian. Try showing it in

your natal chart in the Sign and degree op-posite that held by the Sun – also in its pro-gressed position opposite the progressedSun. The house the Earth’s symbol is in re-veals the life mission; the house the Sun isin shows the department where you shinebest in expressing your life’s mission; be-cause what is shown by the Earth symbol isshone on by the direct light from the GreatLamp itself.

This writer considers the Earth to bedignified in Aquarius, Sign of the Brother-hood of Man we are to attain on Earth: andexalted in Libra, the Sign of Justice andEquality for all on Earth – through “reflect-ing” the dignity and exaltation of the Sun inthe opposite Signs Leo and Aries, as she does.

First of all, read her symbol at birth ac-cording to what is ruled by the house it isin, indicating where the mission lies. It ispublic-&-personal if angular (that is, in the1st, 10th, 7th or 4th) and private-&-mate-rial if succeedent (2nd, 5th, 8th or 11th);and semi-private-&-semi-public along thelines of service and dissemination of infor-mation if cadent (3rd, 6th, 9th or 12th)where it takes a personal interest in imper-sonal affairs and an impersonal interest inpersonal affairs at one and the same time -as between a teacher & pupil, employer &employee, clergyman & churchgoer, etc. Ifthe two symbols are square to the Ascen-dant, the native is likely to go to unneces-sary extremes in forwarding his mission inlife because he confuses the issue. – AllOver The Earth Astrologically—Ivy M.Goldstein-Jacobson, 1963. 100 Years of Aquarius

MAY 29 marks the 100th anniver-sary of one of three key eventsinaugurating the Aquarian Age:

The premiere of Le Sacre du Printemps, aka Igor Stravinsky’s Rite of Spring. Theballet, first heard at the newly opened The-atre des Champs-Elysee in Paris, concerns ayoung girl who is chosen to dance herself todeath. This was a re-write of Rimsky-Korsakov’s Russian Easter Festival Over-ture. Both works are lurid and explicit, forthose who know how to hear them. Bothare pagan. Rimsky was Stravinsky’s men-tor and father-substitute.

I learned about the premiere of the Riteof Spring in 1975, near the end of my stud-ies at the University of Kansas, in Lawrence. There was a class that spring entitled, Stud-ies in 1913, given jointly by the French de-partment, which with I was loosely associ-ated, and the Fine Arts department. I hadpresumed it would, in part, concern the build-up to World War I and was disappointedwhen it turned out to be only about art. Ithad as its subject the sudden emergence ofthe modern artistic style.

The other two events, defined as pivotal, was the first Cubist exhibition, also in Paris(October 1912), and the famous ArmoryShow, in New York February 17 — March15, 1913, highlighting recent avant garde-works from Europe.

I grumbled through the class andpromptly forgot all about it. Not a word wasever said about astrology or the AquarianAge or any other such nonsense. I would notcome to astrology for another eight years..

About ten years ago I got an email fromTerry MacKinnell, telling me of his theorythat the Aquarian Age had begun with theItalian Renaissance and was now more than500 years old. And when he put it to me, Icould see his point, that the Renaissancemarked an abrupt shift in world affairs, butmy gut reaction was to say, Aquarian art ain’tthat pretty. Whereupon in the next instant Irealized I had taken a class in the AquarianAge, long ago in Kansas. It was simply calledsomething else, from ignorance.

What had I figured out? I had seen, in aflash, that Ages were in reality overgrownsigns. Ages had the same planetary rulersas signs. The same planets in exaltation, the same planets in fall, the same planets

in detriment. It was then a simple matter towork out the details.

In a flash I knew why Piscean-Age art wasof such wonderful, transformative, god-likebeauty. It would be the natural result of shape-less, formless Pisces, as energized by expan-sive, religious Jupiter, aided by the sheerbeauty of Venus: Ruler and exalted, respec-tively. But other than art, the Age as a wholewould flop about going nowhere, amountingto nothing, as Pisces is the most mutable ofthe mutable signs and would collapse at ev-ery opportunity. Deep within it, Pisces hadthe capability of rising up, briefly, to aston-ishing, god-like artistic heights.

Which, the Age having only recentlypassed, you yourself may have experienced.Have you ever seen the staggering beauty ofthe Sainte Chappelle, in Paris? (To say noth-ing of the great cathedrals of Chartres andStrasbourg.) Or been transfixed by the mu-sic of Anton Bruckner? There are comparableworks of prose and poetry, of painting andsculpture. I would cite them, but I confess Iam not sensitive, which is my loss.

AQUARIUS arrived with a thud in1913. How do we know, how canwe judge? Just as when we weigh

this rising sign or that, with each sign the over-all planetary rulers change, and change ev-erything with it. That’s how. We do not tryto figure out “Aquarian religion,” for example, because when we look at the rulers we mayfind religion to be important in one age, butnot the next. We may find other things to bemore important. Aquarius brought us Saturninstead of Jupiter, and Mercury instead ofVenus. Aquarius debilitated the Sun. It re-leased Mercury from debility.

Art, which as recently as the Fauvists of1904-8 had been lavish and luridly colored— factors of Pisces in decay — abruptly be-came dour and Saturnine with the early Cub-ists, but more important than that, we couldnot understand Cubism by means of simplePiscean emotion-based perception, for Cub-ism was ugly. Cubism was incomprehensible.Unless, unless.

Unless you had read the manifesto thataccompanied the canvasses. For the very firsttime in history, art came with an explanation.Art needed an explanation. Art had becomeintellectual. I came into this life with Pisceansensibilities. Art was art. I was grateful to

The Alphabet ofAstrologyThe Alphabet ofAstrologyAspects, continued:— Only certain distancesare of influence and it is to these that the nameaspects is given. Each aspect possesses itsown influence which is exerted irrespectiveof the planets concerned. Thus the square or90O is evil in all cases, even between beneficplanets, while the trine or 120O is favourableeven between malefics. In other words, goodaspects always produce good results evenfrom bad planets, while bad aspects produceevil even from good planets. [But see Carteron these points.—Dave]

(a) Effect. The Parallel is strictly a posi-tion and not an aspect. It occurs when twoplanets occupy the same degree of declina-tion no matter whether both planets are innorth declination, both in south, or one innorth and the other in south. Like the con-junction this aspect is variable, that is to sayit is favourable between good planets andunfavourable between evil ones. Thus Ve-nus conjunct or parallel Jupiter is alwaysfavourable, while Mars conjunct or parallelSaturn is always unfavourable, and similarlythe conjunction or parallel between Venus andSaturn as Saturn spoils the influence of Venus.

The conjunction and parallel are both ofvery great strength and together with the op-position take precedence over all the otheraspects. The action of the parallel is similarto the conjunction if the bodies are in no otheraspect but if on the other hand they are al-ready in some aspect the parallel strengths it,so that a parallel between two bodies alreadyin square acts in terms of the square and ren-ders it stronger than it otherwise would be.

Basic Elements

THE planetary bodies travel throughthe signs of the zodiac, and by thechanges and disturbances they there

produce, institute sympathetic changes anddisturbances in the human equivalent. Eachplanet, too, is intimately espoused with somedivision or divisions of our zodiac, arguing anatural affinity between them. Thus, the Sunis in accord with Leo, the Moon with Cancer,Mercury with Gemini and Virgo, Venus withTaurus and Libra, Mars with Aries and Scor-pio, Jupiter with Sagittarius, Saturn with Cap-ricorn, Uranus with Aquarius, and Neptunewith Pisces; these being the respectiveswakshetras or sheaths of the planets named. But they also have specific attributes. Thosewhich concern us for the moment may be de-tailed in the following manner:

Sun: vital. Moon: nutritive. Mercury:neutral. Venus: lymphatic. Mars: inflam-matory. Jupiter: plethoric. Saturn: chronic.Uranus: spasmodic. Neptune: comatic.

Although in the foregoing we have littlemore than the alphabet of Medical Astrol-ogy, it will appear at once how some wordsmay be formed therefrom, and perhaps evena little phrase.

For if we postulate an example, say Marsin Aries, we may readily deduce this much ofthe person in whose horoscope it occurs:Highly excitable temperament; over-activityof the brain; liability to brain fever. Or let ussuppose Uranus in Cancer, then cramp instomach would be a judgement requiring a fewmoment’s decision. Cognizant of the pres-ence of Mercury in Aries we may diagnose fa-cial neuralgia [Bell’s palsy, anyone?] of Venusin Aquarius, varicose veins. And so on.

That diagnosis is not built upon planwhich promises to be so easy and straight-forward must be admitted right here, and willbe demonstrated in the ensuing pages, butthis need deter no one from pursuing the sub-ject in a methodical and impartial manner.

TOWING to Mercury’s rapid motion

and its higher frequency ofconfigurations, this celestial arbiter

“monkeys” with our weather through its wellattested influence relating to the direction andvelocity of winds. We have gatheredvoluminous statistical data over a period ofmany years concerning extremes of weathercoinciding with important configurations ofMercury. These records include specificlocalities and dates and substantiatetraditional rules concerning this planet’seffectiveness in producing high windpressure. Numerous hurricanes originatingin the West Indies or the Caribbean Sea havecoincided with Mercury’s conjunction oropposition with Uranus during early springor late summer months respectively. Someof the most destructive sleet storms andblizzards in winter and cold months have beencharacterized by Mercury in the lowermeridian and forming a conjunction, opposition or even a sextile angle withUranus. Records also indicate that highestbarometric pressure and wind velocity, withaccompanying sharp declines of temperatures, have culminated under the combined Mercury-Uranus influences. When these two bodies areforming the aforesaid configurations, they aretruly the “electrical planets par excellence” andcan play havoc with transportation, highwaytraffic and overhead communication lines. Anillustration was October 28, 1938.

Winds normally induced by Mercury’saspects with other planets are as follows. With MARS, westerly winds, seasonaltemperatures in winter and cool seasons.

Studies in 1913 for teaching me how to lookat Cubist art. I do not find it “beautiful” butrather, challenging. There is a different kindof satisfaction in that. Cubism, as all theworld knows, is the same object from mul-tiple angles, usually over a period of time.Piscean art was static. Cubism was not.

Cubism was an expression of Saturn, notJupiter. Seemingly ugly rather than beauti-ful. To create it, to understand it, requiredan ideology (Aquarius), required a manifesto(Mercury).

ONCE I had established the changein art as a baseline, the entire Aquar-ian Age opened up. It gave me an

understanding of the true nature of the Pis-cean Age as well as all the other ages. Allthanks to some professors in Kansas who hadstumbled onto something greater than theyhad imagined.

Medicine changed. The Piscean Age wasknown for frequent, terrifying, germ-basedplagues. We remember three or four thatswept through Europe, killing millions, but,in fact, as you will find in Lilly, and again inRichard Saunders, there were “minor”plagues every decade or so that would sweepthrough a city, killing many overnight. Theseran through the 1890’s but abruptly stoppedearly in the 20th century. Why? Considerthat Pisces is a water sign. Pisces is wet.Pisces is fertile. Pisces breeds germ-basedplagues.

Aquarius, by contrast, is dry. It is air.Aquarius brought us viruses, which are ofthe air. The first, and, so far, one of the mostvirulent virus epidemics was the Spanish Flu,1918-20. Which, as bad as it was, was notremotely comparable to even a minor plague.Plagues have not been seen for a full cen-tury, even though the bubonic plague is infact at this time endemic in sheep in NewMexico, and has been for decades. It nolonger has the power to disturb us, the Agehaving changed.

Which is a good thing, as modern medi-cine, with its cumbersome microscopes andgerm cultures, cannot move one-tenth as fastas a true plague, where victims wake uphealthy in the morning but are dead by sun-set. That fast. Only herbalism, backed upby astrological signatures, has a prayer ofsaving you from plague. This plague lookslike Saturn. We will apply the Saturn rem-edy and you may survive. Or it looks likeMars, for example. With medicine superiorto ours, why did so many die in plagues?Simple. Pisces being chaotic overall, peoplewere simply too poor, too disorganized.Knowledge needs a medium in which to work

and Pisces, to our eternal misery, was not agood medium for knowledge. Mercury wasdebilitated.

Scientists constantly tell us we will even-tually have another great plague, that airtravel is certain to spread the affliction fasterthan ever before, but even though they haveidentified bovine flu and avian flu andLegionnaire’s Disease and flesh-eating mon-sters in the Congo, none of these have be-come a problem. Air travel is more than 50years old. When, oh when, will it give us aits first plague, I wonder? The reason, in allcases, is that water, as a means of transmis-sion, is now in the background, and that air, which is omnipresent, is simply not fertile.

WEATHER. Piscean weather waswet. It was cool. Water, being anatural ballast, kept temperatures

within a narrow range.Aquarian weather, on the other hand, is

of the air. It is dry. Aquarian weather is,essentially, the weather of the Great Plains,or the central Steppes of Russia and Asia. Here, temperatures are extreme. Very hot insummer. Very cold in winter.

Aquarius brings a continental climate tothe world as a whole. The difference fromPisces to Aquarius is the greater range of tem-peratures. The consequence is that long-termice, such as the polar caps, ice sheets and gla-ciers will melt, and, once melted, will not re-turn. As this ice disappears, its ability to sta-bilize temperatures disappears with it. The

result is global warming, in other words, apermanent increase in temperature.

Can you understand my utter hair-pull-ing-out rage and frustration with “science”that has, at long last, figured out the climateis changing, but which then wants to blamemankind for it? The earth’s climate was go-ing to change anyway. Humans had nothingto do with it. The astrological analysis isblack and white. Can we stop global warm-ing? Most likely, no. We cannot. But wecan trigger wars and destruction and kill eachother with our foppish attempts. One wayor another, humans are addicted to killing.

As I mentioned in an earlier essay, nei-ther air pollution nor summer sunshine par-allel to the surface can melt the north polarice cap, which is 9 tenths submerged. Onlywarm water in the deep can do that, and onlya warmer Earth can make that water warmer. Why or how could the Earth warm itself?Know that the Earth, not the empty skiesabove us, is the true source for astrologicalenergies. When the overall Age changes, theenergies the Earth produces change with it.It’s that simple.

What about man-made heat? Well, whatabout 1000 nuclear tests that were conductedbetween 1945 and 1970? Huge amounts ofheat were released, much of it underground.Where did it go? It radiated out into space.Same now as always. Five miles of denseatmosphere is in no way thick enough to trapit here. Back in 1970, at the climax of nuclear

As an indicator of the Age ofAquarius, this chart has nomeaning. As an indication ofriot, it is very descriptive.

bombs and the heat they produced, beforethe Aquarian Age had become strong enoughto change the climate, the best “scientists”thought we were entering a new ice age. They were guessing, then and now. In this Iam only dealing with one small part of theAquarian Age: That it is qualified by the el-ement of air.

Once you grasp the basic concepts, howPisces-Jupiter-Venus-Mercury becameAquarius-Saturn-Mercury-Sun, you may ap-ply it to your own areas of interest.

AS Mercury is common to bothsigns, its change, from detriment inPisces, to exalted, in Aquarius, is of

interest. What is meant by detriment? Quite sim-

ply that 1600 years after the purported be-ginning of the Piscean Age, there is a popu-lar story that a great man dropped spheres ofdiffering weights from a tower, to see whichwould land first, or if they would both landtogether. Which is close to sheer stupidity. In an Age of art, the finest treatises writtenin Pisces were those on musical compositionand performance, which to this day havenever been equaled. It took Pisces 2000 yearsto give us simple steam engines, steam, at-omized water, being Piscean.

By contrast, no sooner had Aquarius ar-rived in 1913 and Mercury had emerged fromits shadow, than we had radio, and shortlythereafter, television, which dates fromaround 1929. Electricity was known to Pi-sces, but Pisces did not know what to makeof it, struggling at its very end to create lightsand giant sparks. Aquarius gave us electron-ics. The change was abrupt, but note that, save for nuclear power plants, we continueto use Piscean means to generate it. And evennuclear plants still rely on Piscean steam tur-bines. We have yet to invent an Aquarian wayof making Aquarian electricity.

THE NEW AGE

WHAT became known as the“New Age” seems to trace to amysterious group of “masters”

in the Himalayas. Having been a loose partof the “New Age” myself and having beenover this with many others, dozens of times,I think it can be shown these masters, whilewell-intentioned, were addled, but in analyz-ing Aquarius, it is clear they had no choicebut to do something.

The Piscean Age aspires to god-ness, butis not clever and as a result its efforts, whilemighty, are not lasting, Pisces being a mu-table, formless, Age.

Aquarius, on the other hand, is bothclever and fixed. If Aquarian practicality

could be harnessed to Piscean ideals, the re-sult would be a revolution in human history.

Otherwise, the innate prospects forAquarius were grim. As my wife once re-marked, in Pisces there was pie in the sky, while in Aquarius, there was pie on earth, ormore accurately, pie around the corner, inyour face.

Pisces is universal: All men are createdequal is a Piscean, not Aquarian, motto, asis E Pluribus Unim, We hold these truths tobe self-evident; the Rights of Man, etc. Youthink differently? How to tell the difference?

It’s simple. All Piscean motifs refer toultimate authority and unquestioned belief.A belief in a God, a belief in a Savior, a be-lief in a Heaven above. Which comes downto a simple belief that, in the end, all’s rightwith the world.

Aquarius is transactional and relational. From each according to ability. To each ac-cording to need. Thus spake Karl Marx, anAquarian precursor. Which, by the 1970’shad become I’m okay — you’re okay. InAquarius there is no reference to anythingsuperior to ourselves. In Aquarius, God isdead. Aquarius, as an Age, is therefore awhole step below the greatness of Pisces.

Sex, for example. In Pisces, sex is a sa-cred contract between male and female. InAquarius, sex is an evening’s entertainmentbetween consenting adults. Yes, sex wasabused in Pisces, sex has always been abused, but in Pisces there was guilt. There is noguilt in Aquarius.

It was therefore clear that, left to itself, the Aquarian Age would tend spin out ofcontrol and could end badly. As, in fact, ev-ery Aquarian Age had ended badly, as we havebeen down this road many times before.

You may read in the Bible the mythicalstory of one of the Aquarian Age endings, that of Sodom and Gomorrah in Genesis 19.I haven’t the space to go into detail , but knowthat each of the twelve signs of the zodiacare associated with one of the 12 cell saltsand that the Aquarian salt is, in fact, sodiumchloride, or ordinary table salt (Carey andPerry). At the end of the Aquarian Age, Lot,a male, was powerless before the mob ofAquarians gathered outside his door, but thenext day, fleeing the destruction unleased onthe first day of Capricorn (the Ages cyclebackwards), it was his wife who could not“advance” in the new age, she being lunar. Her ruler, the Moon, being in detriment in Cap-ricorn, she was unable to go forward and soremained behind (“looked back”) and becamestuck in the past, which was Aquarian, or salt. That old story is just that explicit. You will

find many more details should you look forthem.

IN Pisces there was only one universalgroup. In Aquarius, there is my groupand your group. Aquarius is tribal.

Aquarius, being fixed, is coercive. Aquarius, being clever, is ideological and rigid. WhenAquarius goes bad, it goes very, very bad. Itis said that telepathy will become commonin the Aquarian Age. George Orwell got heremore than half a century ago: Thought police.

The failure of the Aquarian Age sets upthe destruction of Capricorn when the Earthrepudiates nearly all life (Capricorn being theopposite of fertile Cancer), and cleanses it-self by means of warfare between its tworulers, Saturn and Mars. Who hate each otherand are feared and hated by most of the otherplanets (Mars has a friend in the Sun). Sat-urn, as ruler of Aquarius, trusts us and willlet us do as we wish, but in Capricorn heexpects to see that we have behaved respon-sibly. But we never do.

Thus the destruction that drove Lot outof the plains of Aquarius and into the moun-tains of Capricorn. Thus what drove his twounmarried daughters to secretly sleep withtheir own father, since, in Capricorn, Mars, representing young men, is suppressed bySaturn (the old man), forcing virgin females(Venus) to make hard choices.

If we could but fuse Piscean and Aquar-ian, then when Capricorn arrived we wouldintelligently harness the energies then avail-able (rulers Saturn and Mars) and work tosalvage the planet, thereby ending evil for-ever. Thus the importance of maintainingPiscean morality in the Aquarian Age.

But in fact each Age repudiates the Agebefore it. The effort to link Aquarius to Pi-sces fails and must always fail. Read Lot’sstory closely and you will discover he was asheepherder who had lost his flock. Heserved the two angels (whom I believe to berepresentatives of Saturn and Mars) unleav-ened bread. Which implies that Lot was thelast Pope, and that the Holy Roman Catholicand Apostolic Church is trotted out, over andover again, at the start of every Piscean Age,in vain preparation for Aquarius, in which italways fails, as the Church is failing today. If you can, try grasp the sheer enormity ofwhat is shown here. I have invented noth-ing. I have merely set meaning to an old text.

PREPARATION for Aquarius domi-nated the last 38 years of the PisceanAge, from 1875 (publication of Isis

Unveiled) to 1913, when Aquarius began.Whereupon the Pisceans then alive, whichis to say, all those who had been born prior

to 1913, regardless of Sun-sign, learned touse the new Aquarian tools. Thus, it washoped, the patterns which subsequent gen-erations would use and keep would be forged.

Of the effort spearheaded by the Theoso-phists, we may pass over in disgust. CharlesLeadbeater found Jiddu Krishnamurti in1909, who was unwilling. Krishnamurti wasto literally embody Christ himself, to beChrist’s physical means of manifestation. Inhis great speeches of the 1920’s it was said thedifference between Krishnamurti speaking forhimself, and Christ speaking through him, wasclearly visible. But Krishnamurti proved tobe unable to control the Order of the Star, which became completely corrupt. Where-upon, on August 3, 1929, he dissolved it.

The result sent a shock through the world. With God himself so near and then soabruptly snatched away, the resulting decadewas called the Great Depression, which hadfar more to do with Krishnamurti’s repudia-tion than it did a mere economic downturn. It was only the even more bitter taste of warthat finally drove away the sting ofKrishnamurti’s failure.

In his favor it may be said that Krishna-murti was right. God cannot and never willbecome a commodity. He cannot be foundin any church nor in any social group. Eachindividual must realize his own divinity andseize his destiny in his own hands, in his ownmind, with all the emotional force he canmuster. Each of us is God itself. That is thegreat secret, there is and can be no other. Youmay shout it from the rooftops. No one willhear, no one will believe. Such it ever was.

The real New Age was in Hollywood. Itwas known as the Studio System. It was theunity of many different crafts, workingequally under a single authority, to producea unified product.

This fusion was to be expected. Eageruse of Aquarian tools was made by intelli-gent Pisceans. Having a winning formula, the men in charge held on to power, despitecourt orders, until they were physicallyforced out by sheer age.

The moment of transition, from the lastof Pisces, to the Aquarian Age proper, was1968, the process was known as the “gen-eration gap,” I myself lived through it. By1968 the youngest of the Pisceans was 55years old. Most had already retired or weredying off rapidly. Hence the changing of theguard, the great shift of generations. Therewill not be another one like it. It was, as thesong said, the true Dawning of the Age.

These last Pisceans had managed to dis-place an entire generation of Aquarians, Jack

Kennedy among them. As a result, Aquar-ians, being all those born after 1913 (again, regardless of Sun-sign), were not preparedfor empowerment and consequently didpoorly as a result.

This is aside from, and in addition to, thefact that the Piscean Age, being fully mature, had attracted to itself the best of all availablesouls, accounting for the tremendous civili-zation from the last half of the 19th century,to the first half of the 20th. Also realize thatadvanced Aquarian souls, needing an ad-vanced Aquarian Age to give them full ex-pression, have avoided the early Aquarianera, as it is too undeveloped for them. As aresult, the early Aquarians — the ones wehave now — are midgets by comparison tothe last of the Piscean giants. Or why doyou suppose there is so much misery in theworld?

SUPERMAN

WHILE Krishnamurti was saidto be a harbinger of the SecondComing, the Savior who actually

arrived was the comic-book character of Su-perman, in 1939. You may of course not saythis to the many who still expect Jesus Christhimself as this is heresy, but it is none-the-less true, in all details. Consider:

Superman/Christ could fly through the air(astral travel). Superman/Christ had X-rayeyes (could see the truth). Superman/Christcould bend steel in his bare hands (shapematter to his will). Superman/Christ was astrange visitor from an alien planet (rare andinfrequent guest). Superman/Christ was om-nipotent and omniscient. Superman/Christfaced evil in the form of Lex Luthor/Satan.Superman/Christ retreated into a mountainfortress from time to time (Fortress of Soli-tude/Himalayas). Superman/Christ wasweakened/fell ill in the presence of Krypto-nite, aka, sin, and it was said long exposureto Kryptonite/sin could kill Superman/Christhimself.

Where the analogy becomes much moretelling is how Superman’s actions in fact dif-fered from the expected actions of Christ’ssecond coming.

Christ was expected to be the leader ofhis Church. He was expected to inauguratea “New Age.” He was said to come in judge-ment over all, to sit in radiance before us.Which is to say, an arrival by force. Christwould be aided by his legions of self-ap-pointed followers. Benjamin Creme saidChrist would be the World Teacher, imply-ing that we would all sit at his feet and listenin utter rapture. Creme, who is now 90 yearsold, has long promoted the fantasy of a live

television interview with Christ, the ultimateauthority figure. Alice Bailey (died, 1948)said categorically that Christ would returnby 2020 at the latest. Which is only sevenyears away.

The entire Second Coming program, bothKrishnamurti’s and Creme’s, was corrupt andcoercive and evil, as you may read, in detail,in Mary Lutyen’s biography, Krishnamurti,The Years of Awakening, and which any-one, myself included, saw at first hand in themany Benjamin Creme groups of the 1980’sand ‘90’s. I was once a member in goodstanding with both the New York and LosAngeles groups, up until, perhaps sensing anunconscious radical in his midst, Creme him-self expelled me in 1994 or ‘95. Which waswhen I began to wake up and think for my-self in this matter.

SUPERMAN, right from the start, was entirely different. Superman wasyour friend. Superman was your ally.

Superman did not sit in judgement. Super-man never told you want to do, or if he did,it was never more than a friendly scold.

But when you needed help, you merelycalled out and he appeared, and you were res-cued. You thanked him, he went on his way,and you went on yours. There was no wor-ship. There was no adulation. There was noorganization. There were no creeds nor be-liefs. There was only thanks and respect. Youwere thus inspired to make the greater ef-fort, to be the better person, from sheer loveand admiration. I tell you this in open won-der, that if you should ever dare to makeChrist your friend, your equal (not a supe-rior, not an authority figure, not a god, butyour big brother), that he will behave in ex-actly the same fashion as Superman. Whowas in fact Christ himself.

Why was Superman a real person? Be-cause of the need of his writers to make himso. It is Superman who is real. It is JesusChrist who is a comic-book stick figure, abogey man of nightmares.

So why was it that Alice Bailey, who wasin direct telepathic rapport with Djwhal Khul,a member of the Hierarchy itself, why was it

that Benjamin Creme, himself in telepathicrapport with some other member of the Hi-erarchy, why did neither of them sense thereality of Superman? Are the stories the Hi-erarchy tells of itself and its self-importancea mere a fraud? Are they outcasts fromChrist? (Which does not make any estab-lished religion any better.)

Please note the distinction I am making:I am agreeable there are ghosts, I am agree-able there is telepathy, I am agreeable thereis a band of self-appointed people who wantto “watch out” and “watch over” us, I amagreeable there is a Christ, as I have seenevidence for all of this. Having studied themand their work closely, I am of the opinionthe Hierarchy are overdeveloped fools play-ing with fire. If so, the question then be-comes, are we better off because of their at-tempts at a New Age, or not?

The question hinges on whether their fol-lowers would have ended up useless andcomparatively harmless, or if the New Agersthemselves actively contributed to make theearly Aquarian Age worse than it would havebeen.

My mind is still undecided on this point, but, overall, I am not in favor of smug self-appointed groups who believe they have theultimate answer. Which means my provi-sional thinking is that we would have beenbetter off without Blavatsky and the rest. Iam also looking at social conditions inAmerica and Europe, as well as weather thatis increasingly out of control, as indicatorsthat the collapse described in Genesis 19 willnot wait another 2000 years to befall us. TheHierarchy may have unwittingly brought thefull force of Aquarius upon us a thousand ormore years prematurely.

THE FUTURE

I REGRET it is impossible for me tosee a rosy future. Aquarius is fixed andrigid. It will go on as it has gone on,

lurching from one crisis to the next. Aftereach, the existing powers become ever moredeeply entrenched. In 1929 uncontrolledgreed destroyed the world’s economy. WhichFranklin Roosevelt restored. But he was not

Superman nor Christ. Neither FDR nor theycould defeat the forces of evil, which imme-diately set out to reverse his work and havenow succeeded. We have the same economiccrisis as of 80 years ago, only now with fin-anciers who have learned the lessons of thepast. It is horrifying clear they mean tosmother us into a new Dark Age. Push themback and they will only return, stronger thanever.

In the Piscean Age the oppressive kingwould die, sooner or later, and be succeededby another. Who would at least be differentand maybe a bit better. Or a plague wouldcarry off half the population, thus forcingchange as a result. Or the neighboring kingwould invade. Or there would be a droughtand everyone would starve. Pisces was des-perately poor, and always in flux.

In Aquarius, fixity rules. Those who wantthe good are lazy and indifferent. They thinkgood times will last forever (fixed) and so donothing. They believe matters will take careof themselves, as, in fact, they tended to do inPisces. Those who want more, those who aregreedy, invariably work on their own behalf, and they do so ceaselessly and tirelessly, in anenvironment which is stable and will not, ofitself, oppose them. It is therefore clear that inan overall fixed setting, those who work con-tinually, whatever their goals, may suffer tem-porary setbacks, but will always win in the end.

An Astrological Age is a vast subject. After the horrors of Aquarius comes the de-struction of Capricorn, followed by expan-sive exploration of Sagittarius, followed bythe new intensity of Scorpio, followed by therelational world of Libra, which is followedby the massive age of Virgo (which built thePyramids), followed by Leo, an age of evilmen, who are wiped away by the deluges ofCancer (Atlantis); followed by the chaos ofGemini, which is followed by the earthyfarms of Taurus, which is followed by thewars of Aries, which is followed by the reli-gion and art of Pisces. Thus you have thecircle. The last 100 years of Pisces mightwell be the greatest century in the 25,000 yearcycle. It is now but a memory.
