NEWSLETTER As we approach the end of the 2017 school year we should take the time to reflect on all the wonderful learning that has taken place in the school over the last 11 months. Alongside this learning are many additional curriculum learning opportunities offered to the whole school or small groups around the school. Swimming Lessons, Music is Fun Band, Sports Day, Choir performances, Harmony Day, NAPLAN, Reconciliation Week, SAPSASA, Dance Sport and Aquatics are just a few stand out items that we have seen students across the school participating in. Its been a big year, so remember to be kind to yourselves at this busy time! We would like to thank all of the families for attending our celebration Twilight Concert last Thursday at the Gawler Starplex. We were very proud of the students and the excellent job they did. So much effort went into rehearsing the items, and it was lovely to see so many families supporting our students—we had almost 1,000 people attend! A shout out to the teachers who kicked the concert off with their own item, the cheers from the crowd made the after school practices worth it. Thank you also to the committee who planned all year for an amazing night. This week we will farewell our year 7 students as they transition into High School. Some of these students have been with us since the beginning of their schooling so this may be both a sad and happy time for them. We hope they have many fond memories of their time with us and we wish them all the best for their future. To celebrate the completion of their primary schooling, the Year 7 Graduation will be held on Tuesday 12th of December at 5:45pm at the Playford Civic Centre The Gawler Pool excursion is another exciting whole school event organised to celebrate the years successes. This year the pool excursion will happen on Thursday 14th December . Students will experience a day of fun aquatic activity, but dont forget to make sure they wear sun safe bathers and apply plenty of sunscreen! Saying goodbye is always sad but we always wish everyone goodluck in their endeavours. This year, we are saying farewell to Keagan English, Kristie Moreshead, Lyn Henderson, Kate Evans. We thank you all for your contribution to our school and hope to see you all again soon. We are farewelling Debbie Bellefemini as our canteen manager, thank you for feeding us delicious food and looking after us for so long. We are also saying goodbye to Kelly Neldner, our NACYS Social Worker, who will be having a baby early next year. We will be finishing last day of school this Friday 16th December finishing at 2pm. Uniform Purchases 2018 Canteen News

NEW CANTEEN MANAGEMENT FOR 2018:

In 2018 we aim to develop our canteen so that it works closely with

kitchen garden staff to incorporate the food grown and produced by

the volunteers and the students.

We envisage the canteen and the school kitchen garden working

together with teachers, parents and students to develop healthy

attitudes and good eating habits.

To support this new approach the canteen will be closed on

Monday’s but open earlier Tuesday to Friday.

We are advertising for new manager.

We thank Debbie Bellifemni for all her hard work over the last 8

years.
