About the Project_______________________________
LET’S BECOME LANGUAGE FRIENDLY SCHOOLS is a project created in terms of the
Erasmus+ programme. It is funded by the European Commission for years 2017–19,
starting on 2nd October 2017 and finishing on 1st October 2019, and is coordinated by
Atike Hanım Anadolu Lisesi, Hendek, Turkey. It is part of the KA2 module –
Cooperation for Exchange of Good Practices, Strategic Partnerships for Schools Only.
Main objectives of the project:
The project is aimed to develop general language skills of the students of four partner
schools from Turkey (coordinator), Romania, Italy,Spain,Bulgaria improve the
effectiveness of foreign language teaching in all the partner organisations.
The project objectives are:
- Strengthening the social skills of students as group work, decision-making, mediation skills, planning, organization.
-To exchange experiences with partner school teachers to find new solutions for language learning issues.
- Understanding the culture of other countries and forming tolerance towards national values and culture.
Fourth short-term exchange in Bulgaria
From 3rd of March to 9th of March 2019, the fourth short-term exchange of the project took place. The topic was “Cuisine”
It was hosted by the staff of Vocational High School of Textiles and Apparel ” Dobri Zhelyazkov”, Sliven, Bulgaria, and was attended by:

Short-Term Exchange Program
Sunday 3rd March 2019
Arrival in Sliven. The participants were welcomed and accommodated at the National Palace Hotel.
Monday 4th March 2019
Educational trip to Veliko Tarnovo. We visited Tsarevets Architectural and Museum Reserve,a multimedia visitor center "Tsarevgrad Turnov".Teachers had lunch at “Stastlivetsa” .After lunch we walk around Samovodska charshia.Teachers and students had dinner at National Palace Restaurant.
Tuesday 5th March 2019
Guests were picked up from the hotel and got to the school. On March 5th, 2019, guests first entered our school where they were solemnly welcomed with their national flags and hymns. Students from our school presented a short literary and musical program.
The headmaster, Mrs. Karamanova, welcomed the teachers in her office where she welcomed them and introduced the history of the school, the specialties and the educational system.
The program continued with presentations for Bulgaria, introduced by students Elena Boikova, Georgi Stefanov and Boyana Velikova, "Bulgarian national cuisine"was presented by students Elena Boykova, Georgy Stefanov and Boyana Velikova and "National spices" waspresented by Mariana Ivanova, Petkana Dimitrova and Zinka Veselinova After the presentation of Bulgaria, the teams from Turkey, Italy, Spain and Romania introduced their national cuisines and famous local spices.
We had lunch altogether with students at “Eco asorti” restaurant.
After lunch, all participants visited the Municipality of Sliven, where they were welcomed by Deputy Mayor of Education and Culture Pepa Chilikova.
Teachers and students had dinner at “Venice” Restaurant.
Wednesday 6th March 2019
The participants in the project visited the Vocational High School of Hotel Management and Tourism” Nedelcho Nedelchev " where the cooking show took place. In the first stage all participants prepared our national dish "Shopska salad". In the second stage, the participating countries prepared and presented their own national dishes. All participants had lunch with the delicious dishes prepared by the participants in the project .
After lunch, the program continued with a visit to the fortress "Tuida" where they got acquainted with its history, with a variety of weapons and household items and took part in archery .
Teachers and students had dinner at “Prego” Restaurant.
Thursday 7th March 2019
Educational trip to Nessebar. The participants in the fourth mobility visited the ArchaeologicalMuseum of the town and visited Old Nessebar. They enjoyed the beauty of the seaside in Sunny Beach and made a panoramic tour of Burgas.
Friday 8th March 2019
On the last day of the exchange, all participants visited the Regional Education Management. They were welcomed by Boian Aksakov, Superior of Regional Inspectorate in Sliven and Veselina Boneva, senior expert in foreign language and mother tongue, as well as project coordinator. Veselina Boneva acquainted the guests with the educational system in Bulgaria.
The program continued at school with a presentation on the theme of March "Creativity" presented by Tanya Miteva. Students from the five countries were divided into three teams and participated in a quiz about "Cuisine".
A farewell party with songs, a fashion show and folk dances was organized. After the dancing celebration, a certificate of presence was held.
In the evening we had a farewell dinner with teachers and students at National Palace Restaurant.
Saturday 9th March 2019
After a hard working week we received a positive feedback from our guests. We provided transportation to the airports for Spanish, Italian and Romanian teams. Romanian team returned their country by minibus.
