Before School Care We are seeking expressions of interest from families who may be keen to have a Before School Care Service program at our school. As you know, we currently have After School Care which many children enjoy. Possible hours of operation could be 7.15am – 8.45am. The session fee cost for a permanent booking would be $17 (before the Child Care Subsidy). The session fee cost for a casual booking would be $19 (before Child Care Subsidy). We would need 8-10 students to make this via-ble. If this may be of interest to your family, please contact Genevieve or the school: ph: 66895208 Email: [email protected]
Enrolments 2020 Our anticipated enrolment figure for next year
is 83. We need 78 students to maintain our
four permanent classroom teachers so this
enrolment figure is very positive! I will provide
advice about our classroom teachers and
structures later in the year. Thank you
For student safety, please notify the
office about any changes in afternoon
pickup/transport arrangements for
your child.
Thank you
Cultural Visit
Last Tuesday we were very lucky to have a visit from 22
Japanese students, who are currently studying English and
Global Studies at SCU. They loved interacting with our
students and seeing our beautiful school. It was a great
experience to find out more about Japanese culture first
hand!
Year 5/6 News
Year 5/6 students have been busy doing numerous projects this term. We are very excited this term to be working on a visual liter-
acy unit. We will are writing a script, filming and learning about film techniques and producing a short film. We are very excited to
share our films with the rest of the school when completed and looking forward to our academy awards!
We are also engaged in a Science unit, designing and making a mechanical pollinator. This will be done across all stages. If you have
any ‘junk’ that could be used for this it would be very appreciated. We will model this on the book, ‘Mechanica.’
Our Lego team made us very proud at the Lego League competition last weekend. They performed beautifully and showed how
Dunoon students are great collaborators and performers. Their performance was very entertaining and they showed an amazing
depth of knowledge when questioned about environmental science issues and ethical issues. Their robot gained 175 points—a
wonderful achievement.
Our very eagerly anticipated camp is also coming up shortly. We’re getting ready for Camp Koinonia! Students have designed
their own budgets and meals and chosen some excellent activities. We will be canoeing, paddle boarding, playing laser tag and
swinging in the chapel.
Family support at Lego League Having fun while getting the job done!
Perfect role models of collaboration and citizenship

If anyone has any fabric we could use as head-
bands and costumes for an African Performing
Arts item, it would be very appreciated! Any-
thing in reds, browns, yellows or anything you
think reminds you of Africa would be very
gratefully accepted! Also, if anyone has any
Madonna microphones we could borrow, or a
cat ‘onesie’, that would be wonderful.
Many thanks, Kim
