Fam. Majek-Wassmann

Introduction Since 1941 the Majek-Wassmann family has been passionately managing the Lugano Youth Hostel, ranked as TOP within the Swiss Hostel Association’s rating system. Located in Savosa, canton Ticino, Switzerland, the facility lies only 3 km away from the city center and remains easily reachable both through public and private means of transportation.

News Dear guests, after the huge success of the Ticino Ticket (a ticket which allows to use all the public transports in Ticino for free) last year, it will be available until 2020.

The city of Lugano has been working on several renewals and new construction in the past few years, for example the LAC and the new train station.

Like Lugano, we as well have plans for renewals in the garden and the rooms of our hostel. Therefore, we are ready for a season full of news which we are happy and looking forward to share with you!

Winter

The Hostel Our Hostel is a peaceful oasis, whose infrastructure accommodates everyone’s wishes.

The Hostel is surrounded by nature and hosts an outdoor swimming pool (constantly filled by natural spring water), a cozy porch, a pergola and a vast beautiful park with secular trees, where yummy grilling evenings can take place.

The building is equipped with numerous inside living spaces, TV rooms, all-purpose recreation rooms, billiard table and much more.

Free Wi-Fi network is offered to all Hostel clients and is available in every building.

Mountain Bikes and E-Bikes can be rented directly at the Hostel.

The hostel management respects local ecological standards and is strongly

committed to care for and respect the environment, by making sure that only sustainable and eco-friendly products are used.

Information • Check – In: only with confirmed

reservation between 16:00 to 18:00

• Reception: 8.00 - 10.00 and 16.00 – 18.00

• Breakfast: not available during the winter season

• Kitchen: some rooms have their own kitchen area available, other ones can instead access a shared kitchen space open 24/7. For the rest (including groups) a main shared kitchen is available from 18:00 until 21:00 Important Note: please specify at the time of the reservation your needs.

• Restaurants: two restaurants and one “Grotto” nearby offer special menu prices for our guests starting from CHF 14.-.

• Games: Ping-Pong tables, Basket, Billiard table and others are at complete disposal of our guests

• Physically Disabled: the buildings are equipped for the access on wheelchair (please let us know at the time of the reservation)

• Coupons: to be communicated at the time of reservation

• Cars: 25 parking slots

• Sleeping time: past 22:00 we kindly ask you to keep quiet as a sign of respect towards the other guests and our local neighbours

• Services: pharmacy, post and bank offices, as well as supermarkets lie within 500 m from the Hostel

• Sport & Fitness: 500m away lies the A-Club, a modern sport center with indoor swimming pool and indoor soccer field. (Special Prices)
