GRADE 8: GYM end of school front doorGRADE 7: Main DoorsGRADE 6: Grade 6 wing door

School Start times & Dismissal Homeroom begins at 8:40 A.M. and dismissing at 3:10 pm. Drop offtimes for students is no no earlier than 8:25 am.

There will be greeters outside to help direct tra�c and give a big EMS Welcome. When dropping yourstudent off please have them get out of the vehicle on your �rst stop along the walkway along thefence not necessarily at the opening in the fence. We expect it may be busy so we are needing to keepthe tra�c �ow moving.

If being dropped off please do not forget to put your mask on as you exit your vehicle.

Our Student Leadership Team will be also on hand to direct students to the correct entrance and to bethat warm smile to say "You'll BE OK".

The Staff at EMS will do everything possible to make it a positive �rst day!

Let September begin Our class set of outdooractivities

Breakfast Program & Cafeteria ServicesOur Breakfast Club Program may look a little different, but studentswho are hungry will still be able to have something to eat in themorning when they arrive at school. A tub of supplies will beavailable in the classroom with an option for a bagel, yogurt, granolabar or cheese.

ANY donations to our Breakfast Program either throughcash donations or product

would be welcomed!

Bringing your LunchWe encourage families to consider when packing items in theirlunches that items are easily opened, do not need to be re-heatedand are in reusable containers as much as possible. Reducingdisposable containers is a great goal.

Cafeteria ServicesWe hope to open our cafeteria for lunch offerings on September 21stand will offer a single menu item at this time. We are working on asystem that will enable ordering to happen on a weekly basis andfamilies can pre-pay for their lunch orders up to a week in advance.

We will circulate our menu once con�rmed, in our next newsletter, onour website and Facebook page.Our cafeteria workers will befollowing Public Health guidelines and there will be enhancedcleaning procedures. For our students at EMS we will be followingthe Back to School Plan and students will eat in the classroom, so ifyour child orders from the cafeteria, it will be delivered to theclassroom.

Please monitor your child daily for COVID-19 symptoms before sending them to school. Attached tothis message is the current COVID-19 Daily Checklist. If a student exhibits COVID-19 symptomsthroughout the day, we will call you to come and pick them up at school

REMINDER about Illness at schoolEvery year as part of your back-to-school planning, we ask families tohave a plan in case your child must leave school early, whether due toillness or an unplanned early dismissal. This year Following Public Healthguidelines, we must send students home if they become unwell duringthe day, so it is very important that you have a plan to pick up your child at school if necessary. It isalso important that we have up-to-date contact information for you and your child’s emergencycontact person. Please know that students will not be penalized for staying home when they are sick,have any COVID-19 symptoms, or have been advised by 811 to stay home.

Wear PINK. Diversity Day September 10thEncourage your students to wear PINK! It is to help remind everyoneto practice kindness and the importance of standing up to and nottolerate bullying. The underlying principle is respecting and honoringthe diversity of others.

School SuppliesPlease bring to these items on the �rst day of school:

1. A positive attitude2. Backpack3. Clothing appropriate for the weather4. Water bottle labelled with your name5. Lunch bag with recess and lunch packed6. Hat, comfortable clothing, sunscreen and footwear...we will be

going outside regularly7. Binder with some loose-leaf and dividers8. Pencil case with pencil, pen, sharpie, coloured pencils, earbuds and scissors

Remember that you will not be using a locker, so all of your belongings must �t in your backpack.
