Between Friends Canmore Trip
By James H
On Friday August 9th, Sarah and I went to Quarry lake for lunch and ate quesadillas. We walked around and enjoyed the beautiful views. After lunch, we explored Canmore and did some shopping. I was excited to purchase a new Bluetooth speaker. In the evening Sarah and I had supper and chatted while we listened to music on my new Bluetooth speaker. During the trip Sarah and I spent time with the other members of Between Friends. During a social outing Sarah discovered that her dad taught high school and coached basketball to another member of Between Friends. August 10th, we went back to Canmore and some of the group went swimming but Sarah and I decided to walk downtown instead. During our adventures downtown I purchased a Canmore magnet. We then explored Elevation Place recreation center. Canmore museum of Geo-science, all this excitement made Sarah and I very hungry, so we had sloppy joes for supper and ice cream sandwiches for dessert. Afterwards, the full group came into our hotel room to do some karaoke. Sunday August 11th was our last day and we went to
Boston pizza in Canmore.

Tips to swimming smart:
• Buddy up! Never swim alone.
• Know your limits and stay within your
comfort zone.
• Be aware of others around you.
• Be where the lifeguard can see you.
• Pay attention to safety information/signs
and ask questions if you don’t
understand them.
• Take breaks from swimming if you are
tired.
• Stay hydrated.
• Walk, don’t run.
