With great joy we announce that as of Monday, July 5, Rev. Christopher Bourdeau & Rev. Mario Cabal begin their priestly ministry in our San Fan-cisco San Martin Parish. We warmly welcome you thanking God for his infinite goodness to our parish community. We will also be ready in the Church to celebrate Holy Mass on Saturday and Sunday July 10 & 11 with people at 25% capacity. Con grande gozo les anunciamos que a partir del Lunes 5 de Julio , Rev. INTRODUCTION - FR. CHRISTOPHER BOURDEAU

“Getting to know you, getting to know all about you”, is a famous song from the musical “The King and I”. I am grateful to God that He has given me this new op-portunity to get to know you and for you to get to know me. As priests we tend to move around a lot and our parish family truly becomes for us “Our Family”. I am confident that both Fr. Mario and I will find this opportunity “to get to know you” a blessing from the Lord! I was ordained to the priesthood on May 2, 1992. I have served as an associate pastor at Mary Immaculate in London and Our Lady Help of Christians in Wallaceburg. I always had an attraction to pastoral ministry with the sick, and showing I had the required disposition for this ministry, Bishop Sher-lock assigned me as Priest Chaplain to St. Joseph’s Health care here in London and Mount Hope Centre for long term care. After seven years of ministry at St. Joseph’s Healthcare I was made pastor of Holy Name of Mary in St. Mary’s On-tario. After my time at Holy Name, I found myself back in Hospital ministry this time at Hotel-Dieu Grace Hospital as priest chaplain for the hospital, chaplain to the RHSJ sisters and administrator of St. Cyril and Methodius parish in Windsor. I joined Fr. Gary Goyeau at St. Williams in Emmeryville and St. Gregory’s in St. Clair Beach from 2015-2017 to assist him in building the new Good Shepherd parish and preparing for the family of parishes there. In June of 2017 I was sent to Tilbury to Shepherd St. Francis Xavier and St. Peter’s-On-The-Thames parish-es. January of this year I left for a “long awaited” six-month sabbatical and spent three months at the Pontifical North American College (PNAC) in Rome for the International Continuing Theological Education program (ICTE) - a type of “refresher” course for priests. Living in Rome for three months was awesome, the sights, the sounds, the food! Now I find myself coming to the communities of St. Justin, St. Francis/St. Martin. Along with Fr. I am Fr. Mario Cabal from Colombia. My favorite thing about Canada is the genu-inely friendly people. I am really excited with my new appointment because I want to know the parish communities and help them on their spiritual journey of faith. I hope to learn English soon and feel confident with this language. I enjoy playing the guitar, riding my bike and reading books about spirituality, psychology, psy-chotherapy and conflict resolutions. I hope we can work together and also build our community from the works of love. God Bless, Father Mario

—Administrador Parroquial— “Conocerte, conocerte todo”, es una famosa canción del musical “The King and I”. Agradezco a Dios que me haya dado esta nueva oportunidad de conocerte y que tú me conozcas a mí. Como sacerdotes tendemos a movernos mucho y nuestra familia par-roquial realmente se convierte para nosotros en “Nuestra Familia”. Estoy seguro de que tanto el P. Mario y yo encontraremos esta oportunidad de “conocerte” como una ben-dición del Señor! Fui ordenado sacerdote el 2 de mayo de 1992. He servido como pas-tor asociado en Mary Immaculate. London y Our Lady Help of Christians en Wallace-burg. Siempre tuve una atracción por el ministerio pastoral con los enfermos, y de-mostrando que tenía la disposición necesaria para este ministerio, el obispo Sherlock me asignó como sacerdote capellán para el cuidado de la salud de St. Joseph aquí en London y el Centro Mount Hope para cuidados por largo plazo. Después de siete años de ministerio en St. Joseph's Healthcare, fui nombrado pastor de Holy Name of Mary en St. Mary’s Ontario. Después de mi tiempo en Holy Name, me encontré de nuevo en el ministerio del hospital esta vez en el Hotel-Dieu Grace Hospital como sacerdote ca-pellán del hospital, capellán de las hermanas RHSJ y administrador de la parroquia St. Cyril y Methodius en Windsor. Me uní al P. FR. Mario Cabal de nacionalidad Colombiana. Ahora conociendo Canada y descubrien-do que una de las cosas que mas gusta es la gente realmente amable que he encontrado aqui. Estoy muy contento y emocionado con mi nuevo nombramiento ministerial porque aspiro conocer las comunidades parroquiales y ayudar a guiarlas en su camino espiritual de fe. Espero aprender el inglés pronto y sentirme confidente con el idioma. Entre mis hobbies disfruto tocar la guitarra, andar en bicicleta y leer libros sobre espir-itualidad, psicología, psicoterapia y resolución de conflictos. “15 DOMINGO DEL TIEMPO ORDINARIO ” - Julio 11. 2021 “15th SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME “ July 11th, 2021

Queridos hermanos y hermanas: Hoy celebramos el XV Domingo del Tiempo Ordinario. El Evangelio de Marcos nos dice que Jesús envió a los Doce. Estos doce fueron seleccionados entre los discípulos de Jesús y fueron nom-brados por Marcos en el capítulo 3. Marcos señala que estos doce también son llamados "apóstoles". La palabra apóstol significa "uno que es enviado". El número doce también es un número simbólico, que representa a las doce tribus de Israel. Al nombrar a los doce apóstoles, Jesús muestra que su mi-sión está en continuidad con la misión del pueblo de Dios, Israel. Las instrucciones de Jesús a los apóstoles son muy específicas. Repite la misión enviándolos a predicar y compartir su autoridad para sanar y expulsar demonios. Jesús los envía por parejas, esta-bleciendo su misión como un esfuerzo comunitario. Jesús también les instruye que viajen con ligere-za, sin comida, dinero o ropa extra. Estas instrucciones significan que los Doce dependerán de la hos-pitalidad de los demás, así como Jesús dependió de otros para satisfacer sus necesidades. Jesús continúa enviándonos al mundo como sus discípulos. Pero como los primeros discípulos, no somos enviados solos. Jesús nos ha dado la comunidad de la Iglesia, lo que fortalece nuestra vida de discipulado. El mensaje cristiano sólo puede proclamarse auténticamente en y a través de la comu-nidad de fe que es la Iglesia. En nuestro trabajo con otros, construimos esta comunidad de fe y pode-mos invitar a otros a participar en ella.

Dear brothers and sisters, Today we celebrated the 15th Sunday in Ordinary time. Mark’s Gospel tells us that Jesus sent out the Twelve. These twelve were selected from among Jesus’ disciples and named by Mark in chap-ter 3. Mark notes that these twelve are also called “apostles.” The word apostle means “one who is sent.” The number twelve is also a symbolic number, representing the twelve tribes of Israel. By nam-ing twelve apostles, Jesus shows his mission to be in continuity with the mission of God’s people, Isra-el. Jesus’ instructions to the apostles are very specific. He repeats the mission that they are sent to preach and to share his authority to heal and to drive out demons. Jesus sends them in pairs, estab-lishing his mission as a communal endeavor. Jesus also instructs them to travel lightly, without the customary food, money, and extra set of clothes. These instructions mean that the Twelve will be de-pendent on the hospitality of others, just as Jesus depended on others to provide for his needs. Jesus continues to send us into the world as his disciples. But like the first disciples, we are not sent alone. Jesus has given us the community of the Church, which strengthens our life of disciple-ship. The Christian message can only authentically be proclaimed in and through the community of faith that is the Church. In our work with others, we build this community of faith and can invite oth-ers to share in it.
