I am pleased to report that the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services have awarded the Atrium with a 5 star rating. CMS created the Five Star Quality Rating System to help consumers, their families, and caregivers compare nursing homes more easily and to help identify areas
about which you may want to ask questions. The Nursing Home Compare website features a quality rating system that gives each nursing home a rating of between 1 to 5 stars. Nursing Homes with 5 stars are considered to have much above average quality and nursing homes with a 1 star are considered to have quality much below average. There is one overall 5 star rating for each nursing home. Please take a moment to congratulate the Atrium staff on this great achievement. Ellen Corbin Executive Director, The Village at Penn State
Hello, my name is Lindsey Zeuschel!
I started at The Village in November 2018 as your Resident Wellness Coach. Currently, I live in Lewistown with my husband, Zach, and our two cats, Tye (10 years old) and Flynn (2 years old). In 2014,
I graduated from Indiana University of Pennsylvania with a bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science. My internship was with Penn State Women’s Soccer Strength & Conditioning. Since the age of two, I have been involved in various sports which helped fuel my love of fitness. In my free time, I enjoy hiking, gardening, baking, and spending time with my ever-growing family – this spring I gained a niece and a sister-in-law within the span of a month! My favorite places in the world are Avalon, NJ, where my family has been vacationing for the past 40+ years, and Walt Disney World, where I participated in the Disney College Program.

CULINARY CORNER
Are you familiar with all of the different cuts of meats in Beef, Pork, and Lamb? These cuts are divided into two categories, larger sections called primal cuts. The “primals” are then broken down further into subprimals or which we know as steaks, or certain cuts of meats that are on restaurant menus or in grocery stores. The tenderest cuts of meat are the rib or tenderloin, or what the butcher would say, the ones farthest from the horn to the hoof. The toughest areas of the animals are typically the shoulder, leg or rear because they are worked harder. These meats are usually used for braising, and cooking for a longer period of time. The Village has been using all of these different primal cuts, and sub primal cuts, using a wide range of cooking techniques to go along with them. Fillet Mignon, prime rib, and pork ribs are some of the favorites you will see on the menus today.
