PRESIDENTS NOTEBy Mylene S. TolentinoStudent Council President

Days had passed after the campaign but Iremained clueless if I was going to win. Finally,

after a long wait, that day of the proclamationcame and I was appointed as the newly elected Student CouncilPresident for the academic year 2013 to 2014. It didnt sink in mymind easily but then it was reality. Through this column, I wouldlike to thank all those people who made this possible. First, I wantto thank God for giving me the chance to show to many people

what Ive got and what Ive to share my ideas and thoughts inimplementing projects for our Alma Mater. Second, I want to givemy gratitude to all my teachers, especially to IV-Wisdom teacher-adviser Mr. Romeo T. Navarro and SC adviser Mrs. Maribel R.Javaluyas for giving me the courage to run for office and fortrusting in my capability. This milestone in my life would not be

possible without all the Lyceeans who voted for me and believedthat I can meet their expectations. Winning this presidency begets

bigger responsibilities not only as a student but also as a leader.

As I speak on behalf of your Student Council, we areconcerned about the importance and maintenance of cleanlinessand orderliness in our campus. For our first project, we haveprovided tissues and soaps in every high school rest room toaddress proper hygiene. Student Council officers are assigned toevery high school section to assist the students in the lineformation to maintain orderliness and good behaviour during flagceremony.

As the first event organized by the Student Council, theNutrition Month Celebration held last 19 th of July 2013 was verymuch a success. The whole day celebration was well attended andenjoyed by all students and teachers. Pre-school, elementary andhigh school students eagerly participated in the musicalpresentations. The multi-level Search for Mr and Ms NutritionMonth was well received by the parents, guests and spectators ofthe program. The first-ever Culinary Contest was such anadrenaline rush for the contestants and their teacher-advisers. Themulti-faceted games had kept the students attention and energyhigh until the end of the day.

The next projects of your Student Council would includeMusic Ministry, Fellowship and Adopt A Little Brother/Sister.

We have set the bar high based on the success of our first project. We promise to set the bar even higher. To achieve our goal werequest that you work with us for we only have the best interest ofthe students in our minds. Rest assured that your Student Council

will do everything to meet our mandate that is to be of service toall Lyceeans.
