Student life and Europe Social responsibility, sustainable development, commitment, mobility

THE 40TH FRENCH-GERMAN COLLOQUIUM OF STU-DENT AFFAIRS AND SERVICES, JOINTLY ORGANIZED BY CNOUS AND DEUTSCHES STUDENTENWERK (DSW), THE FRENCH-GERMAN WORKING GROUP AND THE CROUS DE STRASBOURG, WILL TAKE PLACE FROM 25TH TO 29TH OF AUGUST 2019, IN STRASBOURG, AT THE UNIVERSITY PALACE OF STRASBOURG AND THE EUROPEAN PARLIA-MENT.

The chosen topic is called « Student life and Europe: social

responsibility, sustainable development, student enga-

gement, mobility ».

The Crous and STW in France and Germany have been closely coo-perating on the same mission and values for decades - providing services for students in a social dimension of higher education in Europa.

How do student services help students to become European citizens? What is their contribution to social responsibility, equal access, and international mobility, and how can they add to the attractiveness of higher education in Europa?

Over time, European universities will emerge following the call fo French President Emmanuel Macros. But what is the challenge for participation and social responsibility? What is the impact on every-day student life and what challenges will student services face in the future development of European integration? What impact can we make on the mobility of underrepresented stu-dents and their success?

Student services organizations across Europe share the same values and contribute to strengthening a European dimension in higher education, as well as European citizenship. Financing stu-dent services and student life, welcoming international students, guaranteeing equal opportunities, social responsibility, sustainable development and student participation are essential values. At the same time, student services have been developing innovative practices in supporting students across Europe.
