We are in full swing of the Fall months so

stay active with your fitness even though

it may seem a bit chilly out there.

Oktoberfest will be celebrated with a German Themed Dinner

and lots of good beer and music! "Eins, Zwei, Drei, Prost"

three cheers to Oktoberfest! Start getting your Halloween

costume ready for the Spooky Haunted House and Costume

Party! Come on down to the Fireside Room and cozy up by

the fireplace with a cup of coffee and a great book!

Pick up your Watermark University Catalog today! Studies show

that satisfying curiosities and learning new things can keep the

mind agile and sharp. That's why we created Watermark University.

We know that stimulating the mind and strengthening the body has

enormous benefits at any age and may even slow the process of

OCTOBER 2019

THE INN

October is the true kickoff to

fall. Everything is pumpkin

flavored, cool bonfire nights

around a crackling fire with

friends, roasting big fluffy

marshmallows, sipping your

first hot cocoa of the season

by the fire with a nice cozy blanket and a good book and whether

alcoholic or non-alcoholic apple cider is the drink of choice! I think

the best part, the weather is not too hot, not too cold… All month

long Halloween kicks off the start of the holidays and we will start

ours with a Haunted House. We celebrate each month after that

with family and friends and end the year with our last celebration

on December 31st... This is why October is the best month of the

year, and no doubt you’ve thought of some reasons of your own,

but no matter what, someone will always have at least one thing

they absolutely enjoy about October!

Why do

we loveOctober?

The fall months are a time of great

temptation with the increase of holiday

sweets in the house, but it is also the

perfect time to make little changes to

your routine to stay active and healthy.

*Know that it is okay to indulge in

something sweet, but make sure to first

eat a nutritious meal. You'll feel fuller

and be less likely to go back for a second

helping.

*Small changes each week can add up to

big results: take a walk after dinner or

skip that elevator and take the stairs.

You'll love the way you feel after burning

these extra calories.

*Always drink plenty of water to stay

hydrated. Little sips throughout the day

can really add up!

Path to Well-Being

“Autumn is a second spring when every leaf is a flower” How beautiful and

welcoming October will be. September is gone but memories were made

for assisted living residents. September was all about Apples! Residents

learned health benefits from eating apples and sampled dark chocolate

apples slices. They beautified their doors with a fun hanging apple craft.

They also enjoyed outings to the Irvine Museum, local shopping trips,

Wednesday and Saturday Socials with entertainment and enjoyed apple

pie. Finishing up the fall month with a lunch outing to Bravo Burger with

extra orders of French fries. Don’t miss out on October’s offerings, pick up a

calendar and join friends and neighbors and enjoy all that Sea Bluffs has to

offer with events, activities and Watermark University classes.
