New Westminster School District #40 Friday January 6, 2017 NWSS CODE OF CONDUCT: Respect learning Respect yourself & others Respect the environment WHAT’S HAPPENING We are quickly approaching the end of Semester 1. It is a busy time with our programming of Semester Transition Week (formerly known as exam week), Winter Formal for our Graduates, the start up of Semester 2 and course selection for next year. With all of these important activities happening at once, we want to ensure that the amazing work of our students is not lost. This past week the Winter Choral Concert took place and this week NDUB’s got Drama is happening in the Massey Theatre at 7pm. While all of this is happening, we have countless students and a team of teachers devoting endless energy to prepare this year’s musical “Legally Blonde”. We were lucky to get a sneak peak at our recent staff meeting and I can tell you this is a show you don’t want to miss! We also are in the middle of Basketball and Wrestling seasons with our teams hard at work in their league play. As we approach Semester Transition, I want to remind everyone that teachers are offering an array of learning opportunities throughout the week. All students can register for individual sessions - now open - and can be accessed through nwss.ca – scroll to recent news and select Semester TurnAround – from there you can access links for sessions Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. A reminder that the last full day of classes will be Monday January 23 rd , we have open learning sessions for all students on Tuesday and Wednesday, and a school-wide guided dialogue on Thursday.
