T.K.E.S.: Teacher Keys Effectiveness System
The Teacher Keys Effectiveness System (TKES) is a common evaluationsystem designed for building teacher effectiveness and ensuring
consistency and comparability throughout the state. The Teacher KeysEffectiveness System (TKES) consists of three components which provide
multiple sources of data.
Beginning in school year 2016-2017, the three components are
Teacher Assessment on Performance Standards (TAPS), ProfessionalGrowth, and Student Growth. The overarching goal of TKES is to support
continuous growth and development of each teacher .

Professional Growth20%
You will be completing a Self-Assessment at thebeginning of the school year. Use that assessment
to determine which standard you would like tomake growth on this year. You will work with acollaborative team in your building to help you
reach your goal- you are not alone!
Goal setting is designed to focus educators on developingand mastering specific skills that will in the end, impactstudent achievement. Every certified staff member and paraprofessional will seta goal for the year based on a TKES PerformanceStandard. The second goal is a district-wide goal(Professional Learning Communities). A Professional Learning Goal identifies an action that isgoing to be taken by the educator – something theeducator will do; student outcomes are not specified in thegoal. The educator’s action must be linked to a specificPerformance Standard – the goal should standards-basedaligned to each individual’s evaluation tool.
