Cheerily she peeps through the window.

Off to the old people’s home he goes,

Over his shoulder, an empty sack he throws.

Many an hour in their company he spends,

Sad, broken hearts he carefully mends,

Their worries he fills in that empty sack,

END OF QUESTIONS IN TEST PAPER

Bhiku, the new Station Master of Pilakua, was not too happy with his job. Hardly any trains stopped at Pilakua because only very few people would get on or off. He dreamt of leaving this job and joining the army.

One day, as he finished his lunch, a frightening sight met his eyes. A little boy had wandered off the platform. He was walking on the railway tracks and did not see the fast approaching train. Bhiku didn’t think twice. He leapt on to the tracks and ran. He rescued the boy just before the engine could touch him.

“Where are his parents?” Bhiku wondered. He held the boy’s hand and took him to the station room. The phone was ringing. “A 5-year-old boy got off the train at Pilakua. Find him, Station Master Bhiku!” a voice in panic spoke.

“He is here with me, sir. I just saved him from an accident!”

“How will I ever repay you, Bhiku? My son got off the train and I didn’t even notice. You are a true hero,” the Railway Commissioner sobbed.

“I did my duty, sir, as the Station Master of Pilakua!” Bhiku replied with a deep sense of satisfaction.

“Pilakua will not need a new station master,” thought Bhiku.
