Explore the Far Pacific NorthwestJuly 12 – 20, 2014Day 1Arrive at Seattle, Washington. This afternoon we will take in some local sites as arrivals allow followed by a light dinner in the evening and getting to know one another. Meal included: dinner.

Day 2A whole day to explore the magnificent Mount Rainier National Park. This active volcano rises to a height of 14,410 feet above sea level and stands as a beacon for miles in Washington State. We will have ample time for many photo stops along the park roads on our way to the hotel where a Sunday brunch buffet will be awaiting. After brunch, you will have time to walk around and visit the new Paradise Jackson Visitors Center. Meals included: breakfast, brunch.

Day 3Our varied journey today takes us to the Kitsap Peninsula – past Navy yards and American Indian sites – through a Scandinavian village and a logging town designed to look like a New England town. We’ll make stops along the way to enjoy the history and sites of this eclectic part of Washington. We will spend our night in Olympic National Park just steps away from the Pacific Ocean near Kalaloch Beach. Meal included: breakfast.

Day 4Today we visit one of the few temperate rain forests in North America, the Hoh Rain Forest. Look for the magnificent Roosevelt elk as we walk through the Olympic National Park or as we drive up to Hurricane Ridge. Following, a ferry ride across the Straits of Juan de Fuca takes us to Victoria. An ideal hotel location gives way to enjoy the downtown activities and restaurants. Meal included: breakfast.

Day 5This morning we go to the beautiful Butchart Gardens to bask in this world renowned garden. The afternoon is free to view the Empress Hotel, the Parliament Building or the fantastic Royal British Columbia Museum. Or if you choose, go to the bottom of the ocean, tour through time in a time capsule or learn about the First Peoples in the most visited museum in Canada. Watch the many street performers and vendors, catch a ferry taxi or visit the shops in Old Town or China Town – so much to choose from! Meal included: breakfast.

Day 6Another ferry ride will take us across the Strait of Georgia to Vancouver, BC. A guided tour of this multicultural city includes the Gas Town Area, Stanley Park, and China Town. Thereafter, we head east to the Harrison Hot Springs – that will feel good about now! Hot springs and restaurants are right on the property of our hotel as well as the quaint, little town of Harrison which is within walking distance. Meal included: breakfast.

Day 7Today we travel through the Fraser River Valley back to the USA. We will pass Mt. Baker – another 14,000+ peak – and then on to Mukilteo and the Boeing Future of Flight Museum. After a tour of the assembly plant and museum, we will complete our journey in Downtown Seattle. Our hotel location – in the middle of the Klondike Gold Rush National Historic Park – is within walking distance to the Waterfront and public transportation. Meal included: breakfast.

Day 8We start our day by taking a Duck Tour of this city on the edge of Elliot Bay and the Puget Sound. You’ll have free time to visit the Space Needle, the Chihuly Glass Museum and Garden, Pikes Place Market, Underground Seattle, the Aquarium or even ride the ferry to Bainbridge Island. We will all gather together this evening for a Pacific Northwest themed farewell dinner. Meals included: breakfast, dinner.

Day 9Transfers to the airport for return flights home. Meal included: breakfast.
