WORLD NEWS 2

The portrayal of the month: Donald TRUMP

Who is Donald TRUMP?

Donald J. TRUMP was born on June 14th, 1946 in New York. He is a politician and a businessman. In 2016, he became the president of the United States of America. Indeed, even if this man was at the beginning a very influential businessman who built a real estate empire, he was a candidate for the presidential election. As a result, he won while facing Hillary CLINTON to replace Barack OBAMA, the former two times president of the United States of America.

During his childhood , he was very restless so his parents decided to send him to a military school so that he could focus on himself. Then, in 1970, Donald TRUMP took over the family business and he specialized in estate development. For now, he owns a lot of buildings and estates like the Trump tower or the Trump international hotel and tower. He is not liked by everyone. In fact he may be very famous, but he has always had this rather unreliable side which did not steer him to make good choices.

This month, we had a survey to know the students’ opinion about Donald TRUMP and his decision to build a wall between the USA and Mexico. On 60 votes, no one agreed with the project, and as for the opinion on the man, there are different points of view. Here a few that were expressed:

“In my opinion , Donald TRUMP is not the good person to be the president of the United States, he is not a serious man and we can see that with his past, his life on social networks, I think he is better just as a businessman”, Laura.

“To begin with, I would like to say, what a disappointment. I don’t understand why a person like him can be loved by the American population, he has done terrible things, he acts with hate towards others and for me, he doesn’t have what it takes to be a leader”, Maxime.

“It’s simple to say he is not a good person, but I think Donald TRUMP as a president can change a lot of things in good. Indeed, he is not an angel, but he is a powerful man who knows the political life, he can give to the USA the keys to become a better country”, Jordan.

SOCIETY 3What is Braille?

When you have good eyes, reading is simple, you open a book and read the printed words. But if you are blind or visually impaired, how do you do? You read in Braille.

This writing was invented by a French man, Louis Braille in 1825. He had been blind since hewas a child, following an accident. Braille is a relief writing system that allows reading withthe fingers. Each Braille cell is made with 6 raised dots that can be combined in 63 differentways to achieve complete writing. This alphabet has been adapted to many languagesaround the world, there is the Braille World Council, and every year on January 4th, it is aday dedicated to the blind and visually impaired.

To learn how to read, blind or partially sighted children develop a great sense of touch.Little by little, they know how to use their two hands and their ten fingers to read veryquickly. With the advent of computers, softwares have been created to make life easier forthe visually impaired. There is a software that translates what’s said in a microphonedirectly in Braille. Then you can print the text, with a special printer, to read it with yourfingers. There are also computer keyboards in Braille. It’s convenient!

There are Braille books about many subjects, maths, history, cooking, literature and evenchildren's books. Braille can be found on remotes or medicine boxes. It’s good, the 45million blind people in the world must be able, in spite of their handicap, to live almost likeothers.

FASHION 4Hype Streetwear

Streetwear, which can be translated as "what we wear on the street", sometimes called skatewear, isa fashion style that appeared in the 1980s.

What is the hype?

According to labellebasket, Hype is a hazy artistic area in which the consumer is attracted by brands according to the ratings and the rarity of products it distributes. People who are addicted to the hype are considered as a “hypebeast”.

And the streetwear? What is it?

According to Urban-hype, concepts like life and fashion can only be defined by those who live and wear them. The best definition of the word "live" can simply be represented by all those who live it. Through the eyes, the smiles, their laughter and their sorrows. Life must be told by those who live it to the fullest. It's the same for urban fashion. Beyond the explanation or the probable definition of streetwear fashion, it cannot be better defined than by those who wear it. The observation territory is big, very big. Despite a large population, we can dissociate a few types and sub types of people. Everybody, young people to old people, can wear this fashion which is rising.

The streetwear lifestyle automatically influences the outfit worn. Among the hip hop dancers, streetwear can be worn for an outfit that will make floor dancing easier, requiring much more than physical fitness. The comfort of its loose clothing will give a significant margin of progress for any ambition in this discipline. Hip-hop singers appreciate streetwear fashion more than haute couture, as they like to say in their songs. Notably because it represents their free state of mind, far from the simple clichés of wealth that the media give us. The dream is also an important factor in this modern fable and clothing. Nobody wears anything for nothing and urban fashion knows it all too well.

FASHION 5Examples

Supreme is a perfect example of a marketing strategy that may seem basic enough and minimalist but whose operation is furiously effective. More concretely, the products distributed by the brand are in demand so much that we have never seen one on sale. And for good reason, the demand around this brand is so strong that it is, in our eyes, sacred. People with a T-shirt or a cap Supreme appear in the eyes of others as having the street-wear look.If we can believe that the goal of a clothing producer is to sell as many items as possible, it is not their policy. All their pieces are offered in very limited editions. Last year, they announced the release of a pair of Nike x Supreme available on their site and in a few seconds, we could not get our hands on it.

Kanye West helped the goal of Adidas to be hype, by creating a line of sneakers, the Yeezy, (see image) more sought after than the Air Jordan. Once again the rarity of the pair has created a passion such as those who have one are considered in the eyes of others as experts and ultra stylish. The pairs are sold at a golden price between individuals. Kanye is probably the one who best embodies the word “hype”.

The hype influences the fashions, the years, the people, some love it, others less …

Fashion responds to a cycle

The majority of the most famous models of sneakers respond to a cycle. The Nike Huarache dates from 1991, the Adidas Stan Smith from 1964...Trends die as quickly as they are born and brands always keep in mind that fashion is ephemeral. Who still wears ultra-skinny-tight jeans and colorful tops like in the 2000s?On the contrary, brands like Fila, Champion or Ellesse deserted French dressings before returning in force. To finish you have all heard this sweet sentence of your parents: I wore that 20 years ago ...

Lou&Lo.

To the left, it’s the cheapest Yeezy that we know, which costs 220€. And on the right we have one of the most expensive Yeezy that we know, which costs between 1 092€ and 2 772€. Of course the price varies with the design.

FASHION ADVICE 6

Curly hair

Curly Hair is a beautiful type of hair.Right now, this type is very fashionable compared to smooth hair. But having curly hair is a lot of maintenance.

3 pieces of advice for your curly hair:

1- Forget your hair straighteners:

Yes your hair straighteners are a true torture. It damages it and you will lose length.

2- You must not dry your hair with a towel:

Drying your hair with a towel damages your curls. It is better for your hair to use a cotton fabric, because cotton will damage your curls less.

3- Apply a mask:

Yes, apply a mask to revive your hair. It’s very good for them.

Why do I have curly hair?Your type of hair comes from your genetic inheritance. If your hair is curly it is because you have asymmetrical follicles. And the people who have straight hair have symmetrical follicles.

THE MOVIES DEN 7Movies are in love

This month, we’re going to talk about what everyone has already done once in their life: watch a movie, we’re going to present two movies about romance, and we hope that you’ll love them if you dare to try them.

The Notebook is a movie which talks about a love story. This movie is two hours long. There is a beautiful story inside this magnificent movie. The Notebook talks about two people living two opposite lives, one being poor ans the second rich. They meet on a ride where Noah (the poor guy) flirts with Ally (the rich girl). Ally seems to despise him at first, but there is a love attraction between the two characters. They are going to live forever together even if it will be really hard. A love that seemed impossible will have a second chance. So you are going to watch a movie with twists and turns, and be ready to cry because in the last scene it is hard to keep your tears inside, it is so emotional! So, lovers of romantic and dramatic movies, go on and watch this movie, that’s the 1st I’ll recommend and it will change your opinion of what real love is.

Source : argentinawarez.com

Source : pt.wikipedia..org

For the second film we are going to present Nothing Hill. It is a 1999 British romantic comedy set in Nothing Hill, London, released on May 21st 1999. This movie contains two hours of distraction. The screenplay was written by Richard Curtis, who has written Four Weddings and a Funeral (1999). The film won a BAFTA, was nominated in two other categories, and won other awards. This movie is about a love story between Anna Scott (Julia Roberts) and William Thacker (Hugh Grant). William is divorced, and is a bookstore owner working and living in Nothing Hill. He is barely making ends meet. He needs to rent out part of his house. His life changes when the American Anna Scott walks into his bookstore, arguably the most famous and attractive movie actress in the world. Against all odds, Anna and Will become friends with a possible romance...I recommend this film for all lovers and romantic people.

OTAKU’S CORNER 8

A LITTLE BIT OF LOVE

February, the month of love, has gone by but it’s never too late to talk about love! This month we wanted to present two animated films which are two beautiful love stories but not just that!

Your Name (Kimi no na wa) and A Silent Voice (Koe no katachi).

Taken from: forumdesimages.fr

♥ A SILENT VOICE ♥

Koe no Katachi (literally "The Shape of the Voice") is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Yoshitoki Ōima. It was published in seven volumes and edited by Ki-oon in France. It’s in 2016 that the Japanese animated teen drama film is released. It was produced by Kyoto Animation, directed by Naoko Yamada and written by Reiko Yoshida. The soundtrack was made by Kensuke Ushio.

A Silent Voice begins when Shouko Nishimiya, a deaf-mute girl, integrates a primary school mid-year and joins the class of Shouya Ishida, a turbulent boy. Shouya starts bullying the young girl because he can’t understand her. Everybody in the class follows him. But then, when Shouko’s mother sends her in another primary school, he is the only one to be held liable. He will be bullied in turn. Some years after, in high school, they find each other again. The young boy has always regretted what he did to Shouko. He learnt sign language in order to apologize to her. He wants to find her before taking his own life. But he didn’t think that this reunion would change his life.

Why you should watch this movie! The female protagonist is a deaf-mute girl, and it’s always enjoyable to watch a movie about a handicap because it is an interesting subject! The bullying subject is also broached but we were really touched by Shouya’s try at redemption. The emotion is at its height and that until the end. The two protagonists relationship is adorable, it’s a nice love story and but also a nice friendship story.

OTAKU’S CORNER 9

Taken from: manganime.fr

♥ YOUR NAME ♥

Kimi no na wa is a 2016 Japanese animated romantic drama film written and directed by Makoto Shinkai and produced by CoMix Wave Films. The music is composed by Radwimps. It’s an adaptation of the Makoto Shinkai’s novel published the same year.Makoto Shinkai is also the director of 4 other beautiful and famous movies: The Place Promised in Our Early Days (La Tour au-delà des nuages), 5 Centimeters Per Second (5 centimètres par seconde), Children Who Chase Lost Voices (Voyage vers Agartha) and The Garden of Words.

Your Name is a story about a high school girl, Mitsuha Miyamizu and a high school boy Taki Tachibana. Mitsuha lives in a traditional family in the mountains. Her dream is to live in a big city like Tokyo, which is the case of Taki. Indeed, he lives in Tokyo and he has a job at an Italian restaurant where he works after school. He is pretty overwhelmed there and he is hoping for a future in architecture. One day, Taki dreams that he is in the body of a young girl in the mountains and lives a completely different life. Mitsuha, as for her, dreams that she is in the body of a young boy in Tokyo and also lives a completely different live from hers. But their dream wasn’t a dream, it was real, in fact they swapped their bodies. And this event repeats many times after that day. The two protagonists will try to communicate and understand each other with writing messages on their bodies, or on their cellphones, and try to not disrupt the other person’s life.

Why you should watch this movie! We were taken with this movie! First, visually it’s beautiful, the colors are amazing and we recognize Makoto Shinkai and the Production Company by their style. The story is enjoyable to follow and the plot twist surprises us. The story is also well-chosen and is nicely treated. The movie keeps us on tenterhooks until the end! We cried a lot during this movie.

FICTIONS OF THE MONTH 1013th Central Guk

Something really strange happened, which is still making me wonder. The house number 13 wasinhabited. From as far as I remember I have never seen this kind of criminal case. Still, I wasurged to investigate in the murder of five people that took place in this house. With my co-workers we only found one thing at the crime scene: a piece of diary.

“Dear Diary,

In my neighborhood, it is the only time the number 13 has been inhabited since I’ve arrived. I havebeen living in Central Guk since I was eleven and I have never seen someone living at the 13th.

This house is the source of a lot of rumors. The old grand-pa said it was the house of the devil, thehousewife that lives across my house talked about a murder that was committed in the house. Manythink that the house is haunted, which is the reason why no one was living there.

Everyone in the neighborhood is scared to go in this house, no one wants to welcome the new comersfearing the curse that might touch them if they were too near.So I decided to go greet them. After all, those were only rumors which were too crazy to be true.I started my way to the house, meeting the old lady who was my neighbor since I had moved in.

“Hello young man,” she started the conversation. She always forgot my name so she called me likethat. Simpler. “Where are you going on this beautiful day?”

I hadn’t even realized the sun was so bright today, the sky was blue and there were no clouds either.I even thought I could hear the birds sing.

“I’m going to greet the new family who’s moving into the house number 13.”

“Oh… A bad place is this house. Bad things happened. Really bad.”

The nice smile she was wearing faded away slowly as the memories started to come back to her. Ifound that weird, her speech intrigued me, so I thought it would be fine to ask her more about thisstory.

“What kinds of bad things?”

“A murder, young man, a terrible story. There was a family of four living in this house a long timeago… When was it already?” she took a deep breath, scratching the back of her head. “I think it wasafter World War Two, maybe in the fifties.”

“This long ago?”

Page 11: NEW COLUMN THIS MONTH! · 2018-03-22 · week. On another note, this month sees the opening of yet another section in our newspaper: fashion! It was high time that this subject was

FICTIONS OF THE MONTH 11“Yes my child, this long ago. Since I’ve been here, a lot of families tried to live in this house but noneof them stayed for long. Two weeks was the maximum I remember.”

“Why?” I asked.

“Because this house… This house is a place of Bad and Evil… My dear little child, don’t go near thisplace, don’t. You will be cursed.”

The fear in her eyes slowly became mine as she continued her story. I understood why everyone wasso scared of this place but I felt like I had to warn the new family of what kind of trouble they weregoing to meet.

Sadly, I was really scared that time and I couldn’t go anywhere but back to my house, leaving theold lady where she was. I’m in my room right now, writing what I lived. I wonder if I really have to go there, I really feel theneed to warn them of what’s coming but what if it’s not true? What if they think I’m a crazy littleboy who’s coming to scare them?

4 p.m.

I need to go. Diary, I need to tell the truth. I’m in front of the house right now, hiding behind a tree. Icouldn’t stop myself from writing my thoughts. They are not here, I don’t hear any noise comingfrom the house but my feelings are putting me on guard. I feel like there is something wrong. I wantto come in and see.

5 p.m.

No one is coming back into the house and it’s starting to be cold. Maybe they are already in? Theclouds came and the sky is now gray. Does Nature feel the same as me? It’s driving me crazy, I needto come in. I’m going to ….

I saw someone at the window, staring at me for like five minutes. There’s someone in the house. I’mgoing in.”

The paper is burnt at that point. Someone called the police at 6 p.m., saying that they had heard alot of loud screams that were coming from the house number 13. They said that the new familymight need help.

We came as soon as we could and the scene I saw in the house was horrifying. It traumatized me.

The walls were covered in blood. From the pictures I had of the house they used to be white. There were five dead bodies on the floor. The forensic police could identify three children andtwo adults. We couldn’t identify any of the bodies ourselves because… Because the body partsweren’t… together.

FICTIONS OF THE MONTH 12We had to search the whole house to find every part of everyone. The family that had just movedin the house was five and from what we know, they were all killed.

Now I wonder, who wrote the diary? Who came into the house and never got out?

The search for the body of the boy who left this piece of paper lasted two entire weeks. The lastday of search, we came in the house and suddenly there was a general silence caused by theshock.

All the walls were white again, the house was clean as if nothing had ever happened in there, as ifit were just built a day ago. The only thing that was left was a message in the bathroom.

In the bathroom, the diary boy was found… in pieces too, his notebook in his hands. He had hiseyes and mouth open in fear, as if he were holding a scream of terror. And with his own blood, written on the walls, was the sentence:

Curiosity is a really, really bad thing.

J.H.

We will meet again…

The war is over. I can see all the corpses spread in the snow. The sky is crying. The sun is hiding. The earth is screaming. I’m trying to find you. I’m screaming your name. You’re not here. Awena is looking at me and she’s smiling sadly. Why? Why are you lost? You said after this war, after this darkness “we will meet again…” You lied. I can’t see you. I can’t hear you. I can’t touch you. I’m lost, among these lifeless and loveless bodies, without you. Awena left. I’m scared. Where are you?

Then I see my camp. We won. They are screaming and laughing together “It’s over! It’s over, we won!”. But I won’t go with them. Why was the war created? Why was I born in this country and not on this island? Why are they dead and I’m alive? It’s life. It’s destiny. No! I remember my mother saying that nothing is written. We must decide to choose our own way, even if our choices are hard. So… Why was I born in Glingal? This country devastated by the civil war, where a lot of children died of hunger, where the young men left to fight. One day, before the Recruitment, you said to me: “we will meet again”. I smiled and you left. A year after that, I was called to go to War. We had to fight against Isil, the North island of Glingal, for a political issue. I thought that you were still alive, but I think that it’s a lie. You’re dead, aren’t you? You perished during the first war on the front. You’re not here, and you’ll never be here again. I was wrong, I lied to myself… And I lost you, my brother. And I love you, forever.

Schwarzwälder Kirschtorte or Black Forest Cake

Taken from www.750g.com

This famous German dessert was created during the First World War, but nobody really knows how and when this cake was created. Erwin Hildenbrand may have invented this cake. Josef Keller created another Black Forest Cake with a different cream.

Futhermore, there is a region in Germany where a wood is named Black Forest. German people prepare this dessert with a lot of black chocolate, soft biscuit and a lot of whipped cream (crème fouettée)! They add a few cherries as well.

Ingredients:

6 eggs – 75grs of icing sugar – 65cls of fresh cream – cherry – black chocolate – cocoa powder – 55grs of Maïzena – 55grs of flour – 150grs of sugar

Stage one:

Preheat the oven at 150°C. Mix the egg yolk with sugar. After, add the flour, Maïzena and cocoa powder. In another pan (bol), beat the eggs white (monter les blancs en neige) then incorporate the first preparation. Pour (verser) in a loaf pan (moule à gâteau) and bake 40 minutes.

Stage two:

In a pan beat the cream. Add the icing sugar little by little.

Stage three:

When the cake is cold, cut in two and wet (mouiller) the pastry with cherry syrup. Put the first part, spread a small portion of the whipped cream. Add cherries, then begin again. Place on top of the cake what is left of the whipped cream, and cherries. Finish with black chocolate chips.

The project to organize a World Cup began with the creation of the International Federation of Football Association (FIFA) in 1904. In 1906, the first edition initiated by the Dutch leader Carl Hirschmann was scheduled in Switzerland and four pools of four teams for the first round were put in place. On August 31st 1095, the invitations for the 16 selections ended, but no federation confirmed their participation and the project was buried. With the establishment of an Olympic football tournament from 1908, Hirschmann wanted to proceed to the recognition of this Olympic tournament as the world championship of amateur football. The idea was validated at the FIFA Congress in 1914, but the First World War blocked this initiative. After the Great War, FIFA changed its attitude. Since his election to the presidency of FIFA, Jules Rimet indeed made every effort, with Henri Delaunay, not to recognize the Olympic tournament as a world championship amateur football, activist for the establishment of a new competition. The Olympic Games of 1924 and 1928 made it possible to establish a constructive dialogue between the formations of South America and those of the Old continent. The World Cup project was adopted by FIFA at a congress in Amsterdam on May 26th, 1928 by 25 votes for and 5 against and 1 abstention. The organization of the first World Cup was then entrusted to Uruguay at the FIFA Congress held in Barcelona on May 18, 1929 to celebrate the centenary of its independence but also because the country was the two-time Olympic champion in title. The pace of the Football World Cups is set alternately with the Olympic Games. At the time of the creation of the World Cup, almost all the teams presented the same formations at the Olympic Games and World Cup because they had an amateur status. However, the competition quickly became professional. If the Olympic tournament was reserved for amateurs, FIFA recognized and accepted teams that had opted for professionalism. The objectives and values diverge, the World Cup is open to all, amateurs and professionals. In tribute to the action of the President of FIFA, the first trophy that remains in use since 1930 is called "Jules-Rimet Cup" since the FIFA Congress of July 25, 1946 in Luxembourg.

The big names of the World Cup:

Winter Olympic games 2018

First we have the one that will be named by his successor "the god of football". We are talking about the Brazilian Pelé.

Then we have the French Just Fontaine who is remembered for the 1958 World Cup with 13 goals. Even today he is the only man to have scored 13 goals in a single World Cup. His 13 goals were rewarded with a third place for France in 1958.

Just Fontaine here in 1958.

Finally we have the German Miroslav Klose who is simply the top scorer in the history of the World Cup with 16 goals in 4 participations with Germany between 2002 and 2014. Small anecdote: Miroslav Klose got all the medals from the podium: Second place in 2002, third place in 2006 and 2010, and the title of world champion in 2014.

At the end of this first week of these Olympic Games. Norway dominates these games with 26 medals with 9 gold; 9 in silver; and 8 in bronze, followed by Germany with 18 medals. On the French side, which ranks seventh on the medal podium, France has 10 medals with 4 gold, 2 silver and 4 bronze. Note that half of the French gold medals were won in one and the same discipline with the same person. Indeed Martin Fourcade is for the moment the French medal winner of the Winter Olympics with his biathlon discipline .

Benji and Hugo.

Another medal was won in biathlon with Anais Bescond. Third place in the French women's 10km pursuit, we also have another discipline where a lot of medals were won. The snowboard with 2 gold medals for Pierre Vaultier who was already Olympic champion four years ago in Sochi and one in silver with Julia Pereira de Sousa-Mabileau who is only 16 years old and who is already vice Olympic champion. She is the most accomplished French athlete medalist in the history of the Olympic Winter Games. Freestyle skiing also has 2 French medals with gold for Perrine Laffont and silver for Marie Martinod, as well as alpine skiing with 3 medals, silver with Nordic combined and bronze in slalom giant for Alexis Pinturault and bronze in combined for Victor Muffat-Jeandet. As well as the bronze in cross country ski relay for Adrien Backscheider, Jean-Marc Gaillard, Maurice Manificat and Clement Parisse.

At the end of this second and last week of these Olympiades, France got 5 more medals. First in biathlon with the mixed relay, Marie Dorin-Habert, Anais Bescond, Simon Desthieux and Martin Fourcade won the gold medal. But there also is the third medal of the latter, who alone has three gold medals and is the most medalled French athlete of these Olympics. Still, in the biathlon with the women's relay, Marie Dorin-Habert, Anais Chevalier, Anais Bescond and Justine Braisaz won the bronze, this medal will mark the end of career for Marie Dorin-Habert.

We have some figure skating with our silver medalists Guillaume Cizeron and Gabriella Papadakis, who were very far from the gold medal, the fault coming from a costume problem for the young Frenchwoman during the performance. It lost them the medal for the benefit of the Canadian couple. A small element can cost us a lucky gold medal. And finally we have cross-country skiing and the bronze medal for the sprint team with Maurice Manificat and Richard Jouve.

At the end of this twenty-third edition of the Olympic Games, France ranks ninth on the podium with a total of 15 medals, equal to a medal record that was achieved four years ago in Sochi, Russia. You will not be surprised by the fact that Norway outclasses its opponents with more than 39 medals with 14 gold, 14 silver and 11 bronze, but it is still followed by Germany with 31 medals.

These Olympic Games have also allowed two countries, South Korea and North Korea, to be seen during the Opening and Closing Ceremonies under the same banner, a beautiful moment for these two countries which let me remind you are in a geopolitical conflict. The next Olympic Winter Games will take place in Beijing in China in 2022.

A little anecdote: the Football World Cup and the Olympic Winter Games always take place the same year. Watch this summer the World Cup which will be held in Russia while earlier this February were held the Olympic Winter Games.
