The Four Way Test of the
things we think, say or do
1. Is it the truth?
2. Is it fair to all concerned?
3. Will it build good will and
better friendships?
4. Will it be beneficial to all con-
cerned?

ISU A.D. Pollard Speaks at Nevada Rotary Membership Meeting
The 2014-15 Rotary Theme is Light Up Rotary. So we are going to “Lighten” Up Rotary by having fun raising money for the Nevada Club in order to fund two high school students with scholarships. See details on page 2. Jamie Pollard, Athletic Director at Iowa State University, was
guest speaker at Nevada Rotary on October 22nd.
Rotary Birthday Auction Third Wednesday of the month
November, December & January . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . How it Works: Bring your checkbooks on the dates below to bid on birthday surprises. Kyle Hansen will auction off the packages. If no one bids on the items, he will find someone to "purchase" the gift by default. All proceeds will go into the sergeant's account. Packages can be a gag or "white elephant" or a nice prize gift. However, these are not white ele-phant rules, so you cannot steal a gift from another. The gift giver may place a tag on the item shar-ing the value of the gift, if the gift giver feels the gift should have a minimum bid. The gift giver has the option of sharing who the gift is from (either before or after the item is auctioned). The gift must be wrapped, in a discrete bag, in an envelope or somehow covered. Gift suggestions: something from your attic, garage or storage unit. A gift card. Concert or sport event tickets. An antique. A new release movie. An autographed item. Get creative and have fun! When you bring your gift, show it to the Club Secretary before putting it on the table so you don't get charged. The Club Secretary will send two reminder e-mails in November and December. The Club President will announce a reminder to bring gifts at the December and January board meetings, and club meetings taking place one week before the auction. November 19th: Elizabeth Hansen will bring a variety of gifts to get the fun started. December 17th: Those Rotarians whose birthdays fall in the months of January through June will need to bring a package. If you don't bring a gift on that day, you will be charged $20.00. January 21st: Those Rotarians whose birthdays fall in the months of July through December will need to bring a package. If you don't bring a gift on that day, you will be charged $20.00.
