Who was Nemesis Nemesis means "to give what is due". Nemesis is the goddess of divine
retribution who punishes excessive pride, undeserved happiness, and the absence of moderation.
Nemesis is a personification of the resentment aroused in men by those who committed crimes with apparent impunity, or who had inordinate good fortune.
Daughter of Zeus
The Love of Zeus
Zeus later on had another love which was Nemesis. However, Nemesis rejected him.
Nemesis turned herself into a goose to avoid Zeus.
Zeus finally had an idea by turning himself into a beautiful swan.
With the beauty of the swan, Zeus got the love of Nemesis.
Later that night, Nemesis cuddled with the swan and fell into a deep sleep.
After Zeus did Nemesis he flew away leaving Nemesis pregnant.
Nemesis’s Children
Nemesis laid an egg and left it in the groves.
A shepherd found the egg and brought it to Queen Leda.
Leda stored the egg in the chest until it hatched.
When the egg hatched, Leda named her Helen and raised her with her own children.
Helen
Soon after being the daughter of Queen Leda, she became the princess of Trojan.
Later she caused the Trojan war.
