PRODUCT PRESENTATION

Outdoor unit for the production of chilled water with hermetic rotary Scrollcompressors, axialflow fans, shell and tubes exchanger and thermostaticexpansion valve. External panels in Peraluman and structure inaluminium sections. The range is equipped with two compressors on twoindependent refrigerant circuits.

1.3 EXCHANGERThe shell and tube exchanger allows to achieve the highest flexibility onthe unit’s installation, keeping on the hydronic side the pressure drops atthe minimum level, thus representing the best choice for all the hydronicapplications on the residential, commercial and industrial markets.

1.4 MAXIMUM RELIABILITYUnit with two independent refrigerant circuit, designed to ensuremaximum efficiency at full load, ensuring uninterrupted operation even inthe event of temporary stop of one of the two circuits.

1.5 INTEGRATED HYDRONIC MODULEThe built-in hydronic module includes the main water circuit components;it is available in various configurations with one or two pumps with high orlow head.

2.1 UNIT STANDARD COMPOSITION

2.2 Chiller, air source for outdoor installationOutdoor unit for the production of chilled water with hermetic rotary Scrollcompressors, axialflow fans, shell and tubes exchanger and thermostaticexpansion valve. External panels in Peraluman and structure inaluminium sections. The range is equipped with two compressors on twoindependent refrigerant circuits.- The unit is supplied fully refrigerant charged and factory tested. On site

installation only requires power and hydraulic connection.

2.3 StructureFrame in polyester-painted galvanized steel. The self-supporting frame isbuilt to guarantee maximum accessibility for servicing and maintenanceoperations.- Compressors fastened to unit's frame with ani-vibration mountings.- Compressor compartment separated from ventilation section.- Compressor compartment with soundproofing anclosure (thickness of

30 mm on sides and on top) (versions LN, SL).

2.4 PanellingSpecific panelling for outdoor installation in aluminium alloy whichensures total resistance to atmospheric agents, easily removable, madein such a way as to allow total access to the internal components tofacilitate inspection and maintenance work.

2.5 CompressorHermetic scroll compressors complete with an oil sump heater, electronicoverheating protection with centralised manual reset and a two-poleelectric motor.

2.6 Plant side heat exchangerDirect expansion multi-circuit shell and tube exchanger with asymmetricside coolant flows for maintaining the coolant at the correct speed insidethe tubes when passing from the liquid to the gas phase. The shell & tubeis manufactured using copper tubes with internal grooves for favouringheat exchange and mechanically expanded onto the tube plates. Theheat exchanger may be inspected to facilitate cleaning operations whenusing particularly hard water (limestone). The heat exchanger is lined onthe outside with 9 mm thick closed-cell neoprene lagging to preventcondensation, with a thermal conductivity of 0,33 W/mK at 0°C. The heatexchanger is fitted with a differential pressure switch to monitor thecorrect flow of water when the unit is operating, thus preventing ice formforming inside. An electric antifreeze heater prevents the ice from forminginside the exchanger when the unit is not working but connected to theelectrical supply.

2.7 Source side heat exchangerFinned coil exchanger made by copper tubes mechanically bounded toaluminium fins. The aluminium fins are correctly spaced to guaranteeoptimum heat exchange efficiency.

2.8 Fan section source sideAxial electric fans, protected to IP 54, with external rotor andplastic-coated aluminium blades. Housed in aerodynamic hoods completewith safety grille. 4-pole electric motor with built-in overload protection.Fan diameter of 450 mm. Separated ventilation control with inactive circuitfan disabling. Fan speed adjusted by phase-cut devices.

2.9 Refrigerant circuitMain components of the cooling circuit:- two independent circuits- R410A refrigerant- shell and tube exchanger- drier filter with replaceable cartridge- refrigerant line sight glass with humidity indicator- mechanical thermostatic expansion valves- high and low pressure transducers- high and low pressure safety valve- safety switching device for limiting the pressure- crankcase heater on each compressor

2.12 TestsTests performed throughout the production process, as indicated inISO9001.Performance or noise tests can be performed by highly qualified staff inthe presence of customers.Performance tests comprise the measurement of:- electrical data- water flow rates- working temperatures- power input- power output- pressure drops on the water-side exchanger both at full load (at theconditions of selection and at the most critical conditions for thecondenser) and at part load conditions.During performance testing it is also possible to simulate the main alarmstates.Noise tests are performed to check noise emissions according toISO9614.

2.13 Electronic control W3000The W3000 controller offers advanced functions and algorithms.The Base keyboard features an easy-to-use interface that allowsconsulting and intervening on the unit by means of a multi-level menu.The Compact keyboard (optional) has a complete LCD display with aninterface available in three languages: Italian, English and a furtherlanguage among French, Spanish, German, Russian and Swedish. Thealarm history display function can be enable by installing a real-time clock(optional) (only with Compact keyboard).The regulation is based on the patented “Quickmind” water temperatureregulation logic uses self-adapting control to maintain flow temperaturesand optimise performance even in low water content scenarios. As analternative, the proportional or proportional-integral regulations are alsoavailable.Optional proprietary devices can perform the adjustment of the resourcesin systems made of several units. Consumption metering andperformance measurement are possible as well.Supervision can be easily developed via proprietary devices or theintegration in third party systems by means of the most common protocolsas ModBus, Bacnet, LonWorks.Compatibility with the remote keyboard (up to 8 units) (only with Compactkeyboard).The defrosting (air source reversible unit only) follows a proprietaryself-adaptive logic, which features the monitoring of several operationalparameters. This allows to reduce the number and duration of the defrostcycles, with a benefit for the overall energy efficiency.

/LN - Low NoiseThis configuration features a special soundproofing for the compressorcompartment and the pumps (if present), a reduced fan speed and anoversized condensing section.The fan speed is automatically increased in case of particularly toughenvironmental conditions.

/SL - Super Low noiseThis configuration features a special soundproofing for the compressorcompartment and the pumps (if present), a reduced fan speed and anoversized condensing section.The fan speed is automatically increased in case of particularly toughenvironmental conditions.

/HT - High efficiency, High outdoor TemperatureVersion suitable for operation with high air temperatures at the condeserinlet.This version features an oversized condensing section in order to ensurethat heat is correctly exchanged even in particularly tough environmentalconditions. As a result, when working at normal air temperatures, anincrease in cooling capacity and a decrease in power input is obtained,hence improving the cooling efficiency ratio (EER).

10.1 HYDRONIC GROUP

10.1 HYDRONIC GROUPThe hydronic group consisting of:- 1 or 2 pumps, 2 poles, low or high head- 10 mm insulation lining on pumps and pipes- pump inlet / oulet valves- check valves (only for twin end-suction pumps)- drain valve- air vent

Each of the components of the hydraulic group has been designed tooptimise hydraulic and electrical installation space,time and costs.The hydronic group is protected by a special casing ventilating(versions LN and SL).In case of twin pump version, the second pump operates in stand-byto the first. The relative operating hours of the two pumps arebalanced. In case the operatingpump breaks down, the reserve pump is automatically enabled.The electrical panel of the unit is protected with fuses and contactorswith thermals cut-out.The hydronic kit of this family includes end-suction pumps.

10.2 END-SUCTION PUMP SPECIFICATIONlow or high head pumpHorizontal one-piece centrifuge pump, normalised to EN 733, axialsuction and radial delivery, in single or twin version. Pump with castiron body and AISI 316L stainless steel impeller. The section of theshaft in contact with the liquid is made from stainless steel.Mechanical seal with components in: ceramic/carbon/EPDM.Three-phase electric motor protected to IP55, insulation class F,suitable for continuous service.
