v ni n CnInterad Weston, a 20 year-old privately-held Canadian distributorof consumable products, plans to growits business next year by way of partnerexpansion and niche market offerings.Interad Westons general manager,Daniele Ponzi, said Axxess Logistics isthe holding company and Interad Westonis the name the distributor uses to go tomarket. Ponzi said the specialty distributoroffers supplies such as ink cartridges,

toner, CDs, DVDs, paper, and anythingelse thats required once the hardwareis purchased. He likens the business to

being the gas station of the industry. Inaddition to carrying some of the productlines such as HP, Lexmark, Epson,Samsung, and others, that many of thetraditional broadline distributors stock,Interad Weston offers a more focusedapproach. Interads business approach isto work with small, independent and non-traditional shelf space retail players andresellers instead of the traditional big boxones, Ponzi said. The distributor will also

work closely with these shops to analyzethings such as location and customertrafc in order to stock the most suitableskus and products. Well do the entire

planogram to select which OEM (originalequipment manufacturer) cartridges, forexample, stores should carry based onour monitoring and observations, Ponzisaid. Lots of retailers usually load up on

products but no one actually monitors itand months later, they still have a lot ofstock but by this time, its already pastthe return period for the manufacturer ordistributor, so then it becomes an inventoryissue. With a team of just 63 employeesand a few satellite sales representatives, the distributor is able to service the entirecountry through its Vaughan, Ont. andCalgary-based distribution ofces. Withits relatively small size, Ponzi said thedistributor is able to offer its customersa more personal touch and can also bemore exible while working with them.Having served the Canadian marketplacefor the past 20 years, Ponzi said theresstill a lot of potential and room forsteady growth here. We see a need foradditional shelf and mind space withinthe market place to get to the end user, hesaid. For example, I may be a dollar storeor a convenience store, but if I have SDcards on the shelves, I can sell it and makea pretty good margin on it. We encourageour partners to broaden their horizons sothey can offer more to their customers.Unlike other technology areas whichmay have experienced a decline in salesdue to the recession, the consumablesspace has been a fairly stable space,Ponzi said. Printing volumes haveremained consistent across the boardand more customers are utilizing digitalstorage, which illustrates a storage mediadevice opportunity for partners.

Print Management Solutions Grouptoday announced continued strongdemand for MPS Sales and ServiceOperations dealer developmentworkshops throughout the remainder of

the year. Additional regionally convenientdates have been added to accommodateenrollment trends as dealers continue

to build their MPS business model.PMSG has provided consulting services,MPS sales education, MPS service and

operations excellence training, and dealerimplementation support to hundreds ofdealers this year and expects to have over

1000 attendees by the end of 2010.As the market continues to rapidly

transition to a managed print services

model, we continue to see unprecedenteddemand for our best in class dealereducation and development resources,

Micro Solutions Enterprises (MSE) has utilized its patent

The 5500 has been a major challenge in the industry and many

would agree the hardest cartridge ever released. The industry has

struggled with a myriad of issues on this model from leaking,

streaking, dirty print, to backrounding and more. But MSE now

offers HP 5500 toner cartridges with SCS technology, part of

MSEs new Absolute Color Technologies. Gil Wazana, vice

president of Sales said on this new application, With several

manufacturers discontinuing the 5500 and a growing level

of frustration with the consistency of this product, we saw an

opportunity to utilize our Intelligent Re-Engineering process

to provide a true OEM alternative to the market. Although an

older device, the 5500/5550 is still HPs lead A3 color printer

product and continues to be in high demand by distributors,MPS providers, and dealers, which have resorted to only selling

the low margin OEM. We are excited by the results generated

with the SCS and are condent that our customers will be able

to successfully place and retain this product in their customers

environments. MSE tested this new release using its battery of

testing. These include environmental stress testing, low temp/

low humidity, high temp/high humidity environmental testing,

continuous life tests, stop go testing, accelerated aging testing,

and ISO 19798 yield testing. MSE is the largest USA based

Best Ink Toner has introduced laser toner cartridge for lasertoner printer. The ink quality is superior and can competewith OEM cartridges. Best Ink Toner has generated environment

This ink cartridge not only saves environment but also save

executive from Best Ink Toner. Your laser toner cartridge, when

run out of ink, is sent to the manufacturer to re-ll the empty

accepted as it saves a good amount of oil and plastic. With our

vast range of laser toner cartridges designed for all printer

models, we believe that we can contribute generously to save

throwing away, it could save a huge volume of plastic from

    Fast Track

There is famous phrase in English, the coming events cast

their shadows before. It is a general perception that people

Work to live. But in the case of A. Masood Khan,

President of IMAGE STAR, it is the other way, as according to

him he Lives to work. It is this strong belief that has shaped

him into what he is today.

Khan was born to very poor parents in a

South Indian city, Chennai and was adopted by

foster parents at the age of four. He had his early

schooling in a local Corporation School with no

exposure to national languages of English and

Hindi, but with having to study only in the localregional language, Tamil till the twelfth standard.

He did his Bachelors degree in Commerce in

English medium, with little background in that language.

During these years, he lost his own mother at the age of ten

and immediately after his graduation, he lost his foster father.

The family had by then used up even the small savings it had

saved by the foster father. The burden of the family naturally

devolved on Mr. Khan, with none to extend help and at least

comfort him in his hour of distress.

It is at this stage that he happened to see the gleams of the

real world and ventured into rough waters of shouldering the

burden at such a young age. He lived only in a tiled house with

    no electricity.

He took up his career as a Delivery Boy and later joined a

small company, delivering printer cartridges etc. He also held

the positions of Sales Executive and Senior Executive and later

joined AMKETTE, a diskette manufacturing company as a

Sales Ofcer and gained rich experience.

He began his arduous journey towards setting in life and

had, in the process, to go through difcult days

with none except his dependant foster mother. He

raced through life with rm belief that one should

work for work sake, without expectations and

without anticipating any reward or award. He was

also, moreover, inspired by the noble example ofLord Krishna in the Mahabharata war.

It is a well known fact that Good Deeds always bring

Good Results. The result is the establishment of Image Star

Technologies in 1995 joining hands with Manoj, manufacturing

printer ribbons in a small way. The initial days presented

teething problems mainly due to inadequate experience in

nancial planning and Stiff market competition making survival

    a daunting task.

The advancement of technology created a demand for ink

jet and laser jet. The Image Star saw in it enormous potential

for its growth and joined with a Delhi based company taking

over the distributorship for marketing its products. The Image

Star promoted there brand in a big way in South India and

soon realized that the Delhi based rm

had involved itself directly in business

    deserting the Image Star.

The Image Star lost many of itsdealers and remained helpless unable to

grapple with the situation. This prompted

the company to promote its own product

on a national level and to develop the

dealer and distributor base. So Believed

and Committed to its dealer not to face

the situation, which IMAGE STAR has come across the dealers,

under the policy of the company, dealers are real kings of the

IMAGE KING brand in their region with good prot margin.

It adopted the exclusive distributor policy, which enabled the

dealers to enjoy the full brand equity in their region.

The launch of IMAGE KING brand is a milestone in the

brief history of the concern with ofces in Bangalore, Madurai,Secundarabad and in Delhi. Jet Tec, Mumbai based company

extended enormous support in the companys struggle and in its

hours of difculties and hence the Image Star is ever indebted to

them. Man with gratitude always grows.

Another turning point, in the fortunes of the company is the

one with Khan having joined ALMA MATER, an institution

which teaches human and human values. The training coupled

with his uninching faith in the part of Truth and Honest

boosted his morale to a great extent. The company stood to gain

enormous patronage and scaled greater heights in the otherwise

    competitive market.

The Image Star does not want to boast of its growth anddevelopment over the years as a National player in the eld but

would like to attribute them to the Grace of God. Now IMAGE

STAR is celebrating 15th year of success.

The Image Star enjoys the credit of a multi product company

with a variety of products such as Ribbon Cartridges, Inkjet

Cartridges, Toner Cartridges. Indias rst automated bottling unit

for toner product besides importers of imaging accessories like

drums, angler blade and doctor blade, PCR, MSR, Headphone,

    Web Camera and Speakers.

The enclosed list contains the current items of products of the

Image Star, which will serve as a Product Guide to everybody

dealing with the Imaging industry irrespective of whether one is

a Image Starians or not. This guide is a Reference Guide to allthe computer dealers dealing with consumables an Enlightened

    Gift.

Finally, recalling a simple ancient story A little boy was so

happy to have a glass of cold water on a hot day that he

impulsively thanked the glass. Dont thank me, said the glass,

thank the tap where I came from. So he thanked the tap, and

the tap said, Dont thank me; thank the well. So he did that.

The well replied, You should thank the rain, not me. So he

thanked the rain, and the rain said, Thank the clouds. The

clouds said, Thank the sun. The sun said, Thank the ocean.

The ocean said, Thank the one who made me, the sun, the

clouds, the rain, the well, and the man who made the tap and the

glass. We thank dealers who supported us and we thank God foreverything.

In todays world the great problem face by thepeople across the world is pollution. To controlthis paramount problem the entire world has

come together to ght it out and nd out someeffective solution to check the this menance. Theever increasing contamination of air caused bythe use of primitive methods of of destroying thesolid or other waste including the e-waste. Vastindustrilization, use of electronic equipments, andtheir consumables and other dispersion of smokeor fumes from the industries as well as automobilesectors created havoc for the environment. So,the developed nations have already implementedvarious methods to keep the pollution undercontrol. Developing and underdevelopedcountries are also following the same footprintsto make their respective countires pollution free.

Very recently China has banned thedestruction of e-waste by the unauthorized peopleor organizations. They have issued license tocompanies who are equipped with safe recyclingor destruction of e-waste facilities approved by theGovernment and Pollution Control Board, failingwhich heavy penalty will be imposed includingimprisonment.

Though the government of India planned tocontrol this menance but may be due to someother compultions or lack of interest to implementthe strategies, people in majority suffer in silence.Automobile sector where the government has

implemented strict law that each and every vehicle coming out fromtheir respective factories should carry pollution control certications. Butwhat about other sectors who are induldging in increasing the pollution

including the well renowned and big organization. Probably the lobly ofthis sector is so strong that the government can hardly do any thing againstthem to control this problem. Why the government of India so reluctantto issue strictures against the organizations whose manufacturing processenhance the pollution or create health hazards?.

We have every facilities in our country but most of them remainineffective or may be on papers. For example, today, if we visit to areaswhere relling and recycling of laser printer cartridge are carried outone would nd how majority of these rellers/

recylers pollute the environment without any consideration forenvironment, or fear for their own peoples health & people around them,as the pollutants i.e toner dust being made of thermoplastic materialscan cause irreversible human health hazards.

So, it is imperative to have some protective system to control orarrest the ever increasing pollution in the segment for the sake of cleanenvironment and human health as a whole.

Though the relling/recycling of laser printer cartridges has reducedthe e-dump considerably all over the world but at the same time enhancethe scope of increasing the pollution by not adopting the correct

procedures, particularly in the country like India. If the problem of pollution is not taken care of seriously by the people engage in suchbusiness or by the Government then the time is not far away when everysecond person may suffer from lung or heart ailments or other relateddiseases jeoparadising the national progress.
