National Cheng Kung University is located in Tainan City, known
for its magnificent historic buildings, delicious food, and classic ethos! You can explore the wonders of Taiwan’s old capital where Taiwan’s
modern history began. Scheduled from July 28 to Aug. 13, 2016 International Summer School at NCKU features "Sustainable Development and Management for Lowland Environmental
Resilience." The main theme of the course this year is innovative adaptations which involves the issues of resilient city planning, city
history and social development, flood management, ecosystem services, public health, and stakeholder involvement. Emphasis
includes interactive discussions and students’ hands on experiences. Field trips such as Tainan city tour, Ren-De detention pond, Taijiang
National Park, and Hayashi Department Store will be organized for a holistic insight of the course and Tainan. Our summer program also includes Chinese language and cultural classes which will immerse students in a unique cultural atmosphere. Through these academic
and cultural activities, we believe students will broaden their horizons in Tainan, Taiwan!

Introduction to Crouching Tigers Program
Internship Opportunities in Taiwan Starting in 2015, the Ministry of Education in Taiwan launches a new program - “Taiwan Experience Education Program (TEEP)” - to welcome students to join different universities and colleges throughout the island for a short term professional learning and internship opportunities if being selected. Qualified candidates are encouraged to apply for the programs, who in turn can not only experience the in-depth education in Taiwan but also connect with the Asian job market through the TEEP gateway. During the internship program, students with various backgrounds will have an opportunity to learn about Taiwanese culture, and have experience interacting with Taiwanese companies in terms of its development and international business operation. Crouching Tigers IIMBA NCKU, Tainan Taiwan Being one of the participated departments, the Institute of International Management (hereinafter referred to as “IIMBA”) in National Cheng Kung University proposed Crouching Tigers program to recruit promising young people from the emerging and developed countries to Taiwan. Candidates who come to Taiwan for the program will gain higher education learning experience provided by executives or managers from Taiwanese international enterprises. At the same time, the participated companies will interact and observe students through performances and reports students provided, and after the courses, top performing students chosen by the companies will be offered internship opportunities. Outside of the courses, there will also be field trips to the company offices/factories or cultural sites, from which students will have the opportunities to experience practical business operations and Taiwanese cultural atmosphere. Plan in detail The 2016 Crouching Tigers program intends to recruit 30 young people- including current students and recent graduates from all over the world. There will be 3 sessions this year, and 10 participants per each session. In addition, it is also open to local students or overseas students who are currently studying in Taiwan.

The program includes seminars delivered by high ranking business executives and managers from renowned global companies in Taiwan. Participants have to solve business problems proposed by these companies during the courses, and those with outstanding performance will be rewarded with internship opportunities or job interviews. Program Expense During the period, the costs of accommodation, tuition and field trips will be covered. Selected participants are responsible for travel expense (including airfares and the visa fee), insurance premium and living expense. During the internship period (for students who are offered internships), the participated companies will be responsible for the accommodation and living expense, alternatively the companies may pay for the airfares for the compensation. Depending on the internship or job offer contract, the expenses may vary. *If the company chooses to pay for the airfares, it will have to be the run trip tickets of the shortest route from student’s most recent location to Taiwan, and the receipt should be presented.
