Maccabees Host the Lightning

The Yeshiva University men’s volleyball team hosts Lehman College, in a non-conference matchup, today at 1:00 p.m. at the Max Stern Athletic Center.

Under first year head coach Dinu Dan, the Maccabees have four returners from last year, one who was on the team a couple of years ago, and 10 first year players.

These two teams met each other last year, with the Lightning coming out victorious on their home floor.

Yeshiva opened the 2017 season with competitive losses to CUNYAC opponents, York College and Brooklyn College. Both matches were lost in straight sets.

In the contest against Brooklyn, freshman outside hitter Jonathan Greenberg led the team with seven kills, scored a service ace, added two assists, and produced four digs. Sophomore middle blocker Samuel Marcus and junior outside hitter Mathew Rosenberg each had five kills, with the former having four blocks and the latter adding three blocks and four digs. Junior setter Michael Klein led all players with 15 assists and added three digs.
