Network Termination Device (NTD)

•The NTD is a boundary point for the fibre network and allows the user network interface (UNI) toconnect to the customer wiring. It is roughly the same size as a DSL modem.

•There are 2 x RJ-11 ports known as UNI-V ports, they will not be used in the Armidale FRS.

•There are 4 x RJ-45 ports known as UNI-D ports; up to 4 ports/RSPs will be used in the Armidale FRS.They are not common; each port is an individual terminating point for an RSP/service.

•The power port will accept the connecter from the PSU.

•The fibre input port accepts the fly lead from the FWO; this has a secure cover to prevent accidentaldisconnection or tampering with live fibre cable.
