This section provides an overview of the watchand introduces convenient ways it can beused.

Shifting the HandsHand shift moves the hands out of the way foreasy viewing of display information.

1. While holding down (L), press (D).● This will shift the analog hands to allow

easy viewing of display information.

2. To return the hands to their normaltimekeeping positions, hold down (L) asyou press (D) again, or press (D) tochange to another mode.

Note

● If you leave the watch with its handsshifted and do not perform anyoperation for about one hour, thehands will resume normal timekeepingautomatically.

Solar ChargingThis watch runs on power supplied from arechargeable (secondary) battery that ischarged by a solar panel. The solar panel isintegrated into the face of the watch, andpower is generated whenever the face isexposed to light.

● Charging the WatchWhen you are not wearing the watch, put it ina location where it is exposed to bright light.

While you are wearing the watch, make surethat its face (solar panel) is not blocked fromlight by the sleeve of your clothing. Powergeneration efficiency is reduced even whenthe face of the watch is blocked only partially.

● Depending on light intensity and localconditions, the watch may become hotto the touch when exposed to light forcharging. Take care to avoid burninjury after charging. Also, avoidcharging the watch under high-temperature conditions like the onesdescribed below.ー On the dashboard of a vehicle

● Should the battery go low or go dead,expose the face (solar panel) to light assoon as possible.

● Exposing the watch face to light afterthe battery goes dead will cause the[CHARGE] indicator to appear and thesecond hand to rotatecounterclockwise until it stops atsecond 57. This indicates charginghas started.

● Power Saving FunctionLeaving the watch in a dark location for aboutone hour between the hours of 10 p.m. and 6a.m. will cause the display to go blank, and thewatch to enter Level 1 power saving. If thewatch is left in this condition for six or sevendays, the watch will enter Level 2 powersaving.Power Saving Level 1 :The second hand stops at 12 o’clock and thedigital display goes blank to save power. Thewatch can connect with a phone at this level.Power Saving Level 2 :All hands stop and the digital display goesblank to save power. Using Mobile Link witha Mobile Phone

While there is a Bluetooth connectionbetween the watch and phone, the watch timesetting is adjusted automatically. You can alsochange the watch’s other settings.

● This function is available only while G-SHOCK Connected is running on thephone.

Getting ReadyTo use your watch in combination with aphone, you first need to pair them. Perform thesteps below to pair the watch with a phone.

●A Install the app on your phone.In Google Play or the App Store, search for theCASIO “G-SHOCK Connected” app andinstall it on your phone.

●B Configure Bluetooth settings.Enable the phone’s Bluetooth.

● For details about setting procedures,see your phone documentation.

●C Pair the watch with a phone.Before you can use the watch in combinationwith a phone, you first need to pair them.

1. Move the phone to be paired with close to(within one meter of) the watch.

2. Y Tap the “G-SHOCK Connected” icon.

3. Y Perform the operation shown on thescreen of the phone to be paired with.● If your phone is already paired with a

watch, tap , tap the item forconnecting with a new watch, and thentap this watch’s name.

● If a pairing prompt message appears,perform the operation shown on thephone screen.

● If pairing fails for some reason, [ERR]will appear on the display momentarilyand then the watch will return to themode it was in before you started thepairing procedure. Perform the pairingprocedure again from the beginning.

Using the Watch in a MedicalFacility or Aircraft

Whenever you are in a hospital, on an aircraft,or in any other location where connection witha phone may cause problems, you canperform the procedure below to disable autotime adjustment. To re-enable auto timeadjustment, perform the same operationagain.

1. X If the watch is in any mode besides theTimekeeping Mode, hold down (D) for atleast two seconds to enter theTimekeeping Mode.

2. X Hold down (A) for at least two secondsuntil the name of the currently selectedHome City is displayed.

3. X Press (D) 14 times.This displays [RCV].

4. X Press (E) to toggle between the autotime adjustment settings.[OFF]: Auto time adjustment disabled.[ON]: Auto time adjustment enabled.

5. X Press (A) to exit the setting screen.

Note

● The auto time adjustment setting canbe changed only while the watch ispaired with a phone.

Auto Time AdjustmentYour watch will connect with a phone at presettimes each day and adjust its time settingsautomatically.

● Using Auto AdjustYour watch adjusts its time setting four timesa day according to a preset schedule. If youleave your watch in the Timekeeping Mode, itwill perform the adjustment operationautomatically as you go about your daily life,without any operation required by you.

Note

● If the watch does not indicate thecorrect time even if is able to connectwith a phone, adjust the handpositions.l Adjusting Hand Alignment

● If there is a World Time City specifiedwith G-SHOCK Connected, its time willalso be adjusted automatically.

● The watch will connect with the phoneand perform auto time adjustment ataround 12:30 a.m., 6:30 a.m., 12:30p.m. and 6:30 p.m. The connection isautomatically terminated after autotime adjustment is complete.

● The watch cannot connect with aphone for time adjustment while astopwatch measurement or timeroperation is in progress.

● Triggering Immediate Time AdjustmentThe watch’s time setting will be adjustedautomatically whenever you establish aconnection between the watch and a phone.Whenever you want to trigger immediate timeadjustment, perform the procedure below toconnect with a phone.

1. Move the phone close to (within one meterof) the watch.

2. X Press (C).[SET] flashes to indicate that the watchhas started the connection operation.Once the watch and phone areconnected, [OK] will appear, and then thewatch will adjust its time setting based oninformation from the phone.

● You can perform the above operationfor time adjustment from any watchmode.

● The connection is terminatedautomatically after time adjustment iscomplete.

● If time adjustment fails for somereason, [ERR] will appear.

Configuring World TimeSettings

Specifying a World Time City with G-SHOCKConnected causes the watch’s World TimeCity to change accordingly. Watch settingscan be configured for auto summer timeswitching for the World Time City.

● G-SHOCK Connected World Time letsyou select from among approximately300 cities as the World Time City.

● You can use G-SHOCK Connected toconfigure settings for user cities thatare not included in the watch’s built-inWorld Time Cities. You can then useG-SHOCK Connected to select a usercity as your World Time City.

● Selecting a World Time City

1. Y Tap the “G-SHOCK Connected” icon.

2. X Hold down (C) for at least 1.5 seconds.Release the button when [CNCT] starts toflash.When a connection is establishedbetween the watch and phone, [CNCT]will stop flashing and the second hand willmove from [READY] to [CONNECT].● If connection fails for some reason,

[ERR] will appear on the displaymomentarily and then the watch willreturn to the mode it was in before youstarted the connection procedure.

3. Y Perform the operation shown on thephone screen. The World Time setting willbe reflected on the watch.

● Configuring the Summer Time Setting

1. Y Tap the “G-SHOCK Connected” icon.

2. X Hold down (C) for at least 1.5 seconds.Release the button when [CNCT] starts toflash.When a connection is establishedbetween the watch and phone, [CNCT]will stop flashing and the second hand willmove from [READY] to [CONNECT].● If connection fails for some reason,

[ERR] will appear on the displaymomentarily and then the watch willreturn to the mode it was in before youstarted the connection procedure.

3. Y Perform the operation shown on thephone screen to select a summer timesetting.● “Auto”

The watch switches between standardtime and summer time automatically.

● “OFF”The watch always indicates standardtime.

● “ON”The watch always indicates summertime.

Note

● While the summer time setting is“Auto”, the watch will switch betweenstandard time and summer timeautomatically. You do not need toswitch between standard time andsummer time manually. Even if you arein an area that does not observesummer time, you can leave thewatch’s summer time setting as “Auto”.

● For information about summer timeperiods, refer the “Summer TimeTable” or G-SHOCK Connected.

● Swapping Your World Time and HomeTime

1. Y Tap the “G-SHOCK Connected” icon.

2. X Hold down (C) for at least 1.5 seconds.Release the button when [CNCT] starts toflash.When a connection is establishedbetween the watch and phone, [CNCT]will stop flashing and the second hand willmove from [READY] to [CONNECT].● If connection fails for some reason,

[ERR] will appear on the displaymomentarily and then the watch willreturn to the mode it was in before youstarted the connection procedure.

● Auto time adjustment does not work for24 hours after swapping of the HomeTime and World Time.

Phone FinderYou can use phone finder to trigger a tone onthe phone to make it easy to find. The tone isforced to sound even if the phone is in vibratemode.

● Do not use this function in areas wherephone call tones are restricted.

● The tone sounds at a high volume. Donot use this function when listening tophone output over earphones.

1. X If the watch is connected with a phone,press any button to terminate theconnection.

Checking the Watch ChargeLevel

Use the procedure below to check the currentcharge level with G-SHOCK Connected.

want to connect with, refer to the informationbelow and pair them.lC Pair the watch with a phone.

1. Move the phone close to (within one meterof) the watch.

2. X Hold down (C) for at least 1.5 seconds.Release the button when [CNCT] starts toflash.When a connection is establishedbetween the watch and phone, [CNCT]will stop flashing and the second hand willmove from [READY] to [CONNECT].● If connection fails for some reason,

[ERR] will appear on the displaymomentarily and then the watch willreturn to the mode it was in before youstarted the connection procedure.

Important!

● If you have problems establishing aconnection, it could mean that G-SHOCK Connected is not running onthe phone. On your phone’s homescreen, tap the “G-SHOCKConnected” icon. After the app startsup, hold down the watch’s (C) buttonfor at least 1.5 seconds.

● The connection will be terminated ifyou do not perform any operation onthe watch or phone for a fixed amountof time.To specify the connection limit time,perform the following operation with G-SHOCK Connected: “Watchsettings”n“Connection time”. Next,select a setting of 3 minutes, 5 minutes,or 10 minutes.

Disconnecting from a PhonePressing any button will terminate a Bluetoothconnection and return to the TimekeepingMode.

● Deleting Pairing Information from theWatch

1. X Hold down (D) for at least two secondsto enter the Timekeeping Mode.

2. X Hold down (A) for at least two seconds.Release the button when the name of thecurrently selected Home City appears onthe display.

3. X Press (D) twice.This causes the seconds to flash.

4. X Hold down (B) for at least two seconds.Release it when [CLR] stops flashing.This deletes the pairing information fromthe watch and returns to the timekeepingdisplay.

If you purchase another phoneYou need to perform the pairing operationwhenever you want to establish a Bluetoothconnection with a phone for the first time.lC Pair the watch with a phone.

World TimeWorld Time lets you look up the current timein any one of 39 cities around the globe, andUTC (Coordinated Universal Time).

● World Time cities that can be selectedonly by using G-SHOCK Connectedcannot be selected using watchoperations.l Configuring World Time Settings

Checking World Time

1. Enter the World Time Mode.l Navigating Between ModesAfter the currently selected World TimeCity name appears, the watch will displaythe current time in that city.● You can display the World Time City

while in the World Time Mode bypressing (A).

World Time City SettingUse the procedure in this section to select aWorld Time city. If you are in an area thatobserves summer time, you can alsoconfigure a summer time setting.

Note

● The initial factory default summer timesetting for all cities is [AUTO]. In manycases, the [AUTO] setting lets you usethe watch without switching betweensummer time and standard time.

1. Enter the World Time Mode.l Navigating Between Modes

2. Use (B) and (E) to display the city you wantto specify as a World Time City.

3. To change the summer time setting, holddown (A) for at least two seconds.Release the button when [AUTO] starts toflash.

4. Use (E) to change the summer timesetting.Each press of (E) cycles through settingsin the sequence shown below.● [AUTO]

The watch switches between standardtime and summer time automatically.

● [OFF]The watch always indicates standardtime.

● [ON]The watch always indicates summertime.

5. Press (A) to exit the setting screen.

● While [UTC] is selected as the city, youwill not be able to change or check thesummer time setting.

● If you select a World Time City with G-SHOCK Connected and then changeto a different city with a watchoperation, the G-SHOCK Connectedcity information is deleted from thewatch.l Configuring World Time Settings

Selecting UTC (CoordinatedUniversal Time) as YourWorld Time City

In the World Time Mode, pressing (B) and (E)at the same time will set UTC (CoordinatedUniversal Time) as the World Time City anddisplay its current time.

Swapping Your Home Timeand World Time

In the World Time mode, press (A) and (L) atthe same time to swap your Home City timewith your World Time.

LightThe watch has an LED light that you can turnon for viewing in the dark.The watch also has an auto light function thatautomatically illuminates the displaywhenever the watch is angled for reading inthe dark.

Pressing (L) turns on illumination.● Illumination will turn off automatically if an

alarm starts to sound.

Auto LightIf Full Auto Light is enabled, face illuminationwill turn on automatically whenever the watchis positioned at an angle of 40 degrees ormore.

Troubleshooting

I can’t pair the watch with aphone.

Q1 I’ve never been able to establish a(pairing) connection between thewatch and phone.

Q1 The watch will not re-connect with thephone after they are disconnected.

Is G-SHOCK Connected running?The watch cannot re-connect with thephone unless G-SHOCK Connected isrunning on the phone. On your phone’sHome Screen, tap the “G-SHOCKConnected” icon. Next, on the watch, holddown (C) for at least 1.5 seconds.

Have you tried turning your phone off andthen back on again?

Turn your phone off and then back on, andthen tap the “G-SHOCK Connected” icon.Next, on the watch, hold down (C) for atleast 1.5 seconds.

Q2 I can’t connect while my phone is inthe Airplane Mode.

Connection with the watch is not possiblewhile the phone’s Airplane Mode is enabled.After disabling the phone’s Airplane Mode, goto the phone’s Home Screen and tap the “G-SHOCK Connected” icon. Next, on the watch,hold down (C) for at least 1.5 seconds.

Q3 I changed the phone’s Bluetoothfrom enabled to disabled, and now Ican’t connect anymore.

Phone-Watch Connection

Q1 I can’t establish a connectionbetween the phone and watch.

Have you tried turning your phone off andthen back on again?

Turn your phone off and then back on, andthen tap the “G-SHOCK Connected” icon.Next, on the watch, hold down (C) for atleast 1.5 seconds.

Has the watch been re-paired with thephone?

After deleting pairing information from G-SHOCK Connected, re-pair them.l UnpairinglC Pair the watch with a phone.

If you are unable to establish aconnection...

Use the procedure below to delete thepairing information from the watch, andthen re-pair the watch and phone.

A Hold down (D) for at least twoseconds to enter the TimekeepingMode.

B Hold down (A) for at least twoseconds until the name of thecurrently selected Home City isdisplayed.

C Press (D) twice to cause the secondsdigits to flash.

D Hold down (B) for at least twoseconds. Release it when [CLR]stops flashing. This deletes thepairing information from the watchand returns to the timekeepingdisplay.

Auto Time Adjustment byBluetooth Connection (TimeAdjustment)

Q1 When does the watch adjust its time?The watch will connect with the phone andperform auto time adjustment at around 12:30a.m., 6:30 a.m., 12:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. Theconnection is automatically terminated afterauto time adjustment is complete.

Q2 Auto time adjustment is notperformed at a scheduled time.

Is auto time adjustment not beingperformed according to its normalschedule?

Note that auto time adjustment is notperformed for 24 hours after swapping ofthe Home Time and World Time, or afterthe time setting is adjusted manually onthe watch. Auto time adjustment willresume 24 hours after either of the aboveoperations is performed.

Is a stopwatch or timer operation beingperformed?

Auto time adjustment will not start at thescheduled times if a stopwatch or timeroperation is in progress. Stop thestopwatch or timer operation.l Stopwatchl Timer

Q3 Even if I press (C), the watch does notsync its time setting with my phone.

Time setting syncing will not be performed ifyou press (C) while a stopwatch elapsed timemeasurement operation or a timer countdownoperation is in progress. After the ongoingstopwatch or timer operation is stopped, press(C) again.

Q4 Time is not displayed correctly.The phone’s time setting may be incorrectbecause it is unable to connect with itsnetwork due to being out of range, etc. If thishappens, connect the phone to its networkand then adjust the time setting.

Alarms and Hourly TimeSignal

Q1 An alarm and/or the hourly timesignal do not sound.
