Nation at War 6.0

Nations at War was built upon the roots of a small group of friends, some of which have played

together for many years.

Nations at War is a team based First Person Shooter (FPS) that seamlessly combines the use of

air, ground, and naval vehicles. It is set in the present day and uses modern and developing

combat technologies in its arsenal of game play.

Nations at War redefines first person shooter game play by depicting warfare between

different nations and regions. Game play involves players joining a country or alliance. Using

aircraft, ships and ground vehicles as primary tools for conquest, players are immediately

immersed in a rich exciting world.

Nations at War has turned into a truly massive Single player, Multiplayer and Coop Experience. We hope you enjoy it!

Nations at War Official Server changes to

Ranks, Badges, Ribbons, and Medals In June 2005, EA Games released one of the best first person shooters to date. Shortly after the release

of Battlefield 2, we at Nations At War began developing what would become the mod, Nations At War.

On August 13th, we released one of the most user friendly, in-depth mods for Battlefield 2. That was

almost five years ago.

We at Nations At War recognize that many players enjoy playing for the shear satisfaction of gaining

rank and be recognized for their skills. With the mod and game approaching three years old (pretty

frickin’ old for a video game in today’s market), we recognize that most players are beginning to move

onto other video games and are unlikely to put the necessary year or more of constant playing in order

to gain the ranks and accolades of the original BF2.

With this in mind, we developed a modification to the gamestats.ws ranking and awards system. While

the award may appear the same, many of the time requirements were lowered and in several cases

requirements for numbers of kills were increased. While this may seem contradictory, if you play on our

coop server, those kill requirements are easily obtained. Our server is meant to be played, one side with

a few bots and all the humans against a side of all bots.

Another aspect that we looked at was the amount of time required for badges and ranks. Within the

Battlefield 2 ranking and medals system, were certain requirements for time in different kits and such to

be considered for some sort of accolade. It was our belief that many players do not want to put in

1000+ hours into a game for a high rank, especially with so many other games we have to compete with.

We hope that players will be pleasantly surprised and motivated to earn ribbons, rank, badges and

medals.

Basically it’s like this; the most precious thing to us all is time.

If a player no matter of his skill level put’s in enough time he will be rewarded. Thus encouraging the

player to return more frequently and continue being a part of the ranking system and the mod that is

using it.

Another one of our beliefs was that within 15 hours of playing a certain kit, almost every player is going

to be proficient in the use of that kit and within 30 hours be nearly an expert. That might not have been

the case in BF2 when players were going against other humans, and the numbers were not there. With

NAW, there are at least 24 bots coming at you all the time and many cases, even more. You will use

your kit, and likely the full capabilities of that kit, possibly even all 3 levels of kits for each of the 14

nations and 4 other pickup kits on EACH side, for a whopping 50 different kit sets.

There is a method in the madness. We hope that the latest, and last version of NAW to 6.0, the use of

the gamestats.ws ranking system, and our server keep you, the player interested in playing and having

fun.

The Nations at War Battlefield 2 Mod Ranks Guide

The major difference between several of the higher ranks is that you get the "higher" rank only if you

have certain badges. .

It is also worth noting that the upper ranks are not progressive. You will only earn one rank per point

bracket. If you make it to Master Sergeant without the awards, you will not be promoted to First

Sergeant upon earning the missing awards.

It is also worth noting that there are no unlocks for Nations At War on the Official Nations At War

Server. Every kit is unlocked for all players

Battlefield 2 v1.50 and Modding.

There's been some confusion in the Battlefield modding community about what DICE allows when it comes to modifying our games. You'll all be glad to

hear that the answer is fairly straight forward:

You can only use Battlefield 2142 content in Battlefield 2142 and the same applies for Battlefield 2. This includes maps, sounds, models and so on. So for

example putting the Battlefield 2 map Zatar Wetlands into Battlefield 2142 would run counter to this rule. Recreating a map "inspired" by Zatar

Wetlands in Battlefield 2142 would be fine as long as all the models, textures and terrain are new or use Battlefield 2142 assets.

Northern Strike and Special Forces content should stay within those confines. You cannot use content from these booster or expansion packs in mods or

custom maps. This includes game modes, models, maps. So for example you would not be allowed to create a standard Battlefield 2142 map with the

Assault Lines game mode and the Hachimoto or a Battlefield 2 map with the Su25.

Euro Force and Armored Fury assets may be used in mods for Battlefield 2 ONLY. This means you may put the J10 up against the Euro fighter in a map

made for BF2.

Part of the reason for this is that the vehicles and game modes have only been tested in the game or booster they were designed for. We hope that

clears things up and look forward to seeing more excellent maps and mods from the Battlefield modding community.
