Why it’s important to serve as a public servant?

• As a citizen are you concern about the schools, roads, parks, healthcare and crime rate in your community?

• If you answered yes to these questions then you are probably interested in public service.

• How many of you would like to see better school programs. Ex: After school programs. Better Roads, maintained parks and recreation facilities, Quality healthcare, and reduced crime in your neighborhoods?

How do you get involved?

• First, know your representatives serving in your community:

• Mayor

• City Council Members

• Assemblyman

• Senate

• Congressman

• US Senator

• Know your District

• Call Voter Registrar to find out your district

• Provide your address to the Registrar and you can find out each district from Assembly, Senate and Congress, etc...

• Registrar to Vote even if you move to a new home

Know who is running for election in your community.

• Every election year find out about the candidates running in your district.

• Communicate with the candidates about the issues affecting your community.

• Visit City Council Meetings

• Voice your opinion on issues affecting your district

• Attend Political forums to address candidates about the issues in your community.

• Tell your representative about your expectations and concerns about community issues.

• Don’t Let them off- the-hook. Public Servants work to address issues of the people in the community.
