Foreword The National Institute for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (ni-msme), being an apex training

arm of the Ministry of MSME, Government of India has been playing a pro-active role of facilitating,

nurturing, promoting the development of entrepreneurship and growth of enterprises for more than

five decades in our country. ni-msme, has entrusted task to enhance the skills of unemployed youth

in various trades with follow-up activity and provide them with either self or wage employment under

the “Scheme of Assistance to Training Institutes” from 2009-10 by the Ministry of MSME, Government

of India.

It has been a journey of immense pleasure and at the same time a challenge. In general, most of

youth want to skip the foundational entrepreneurship training and jump straight to the business,

hence the very reason that most people fail. Therefore, ni-msme, in the training package designed a

structured set of modules of both entrepreneurship and skill development with practical learning that

highlight business development. It is showing positive results bringing together sources and ideas

that have proven to be effective and appropriate both for low-income with little formal education apart

from other educated un-employed. Also in all the programmes personal development training is also

being imparted to their long-term success in business.

As brought out earlier, ni-msme would like to present few more success stories to present a glance of

the Institute’s efforts in nurturing entrepreneurship and enterprises in many locations of few States.

The total credit goes to those youth for their keenness to learn, hard work in enhancing their skills and

by establishing micro to small enterprises or employed in better institutions and increased their

earnings for a better life.

These cases will continue to inspire the future generation of Trainees. In this context, we would like

to thank the faculty and consultants and also the franchises providing their infrastructure and

technical support, for their commitment and leadership in implementing the scheme for true cause for

the society. We gratefully acknowledge the carefully selected curriculum and financial assistance

It is my heartfelt appreciation to thank ni-msme officers, for invaluable advice and guidance

during the term of the project. Throughout the project, Director General and his team has

enlightened us with knowledge that we would not have comprehended. Without his team’s

consistent support and patience, it would have been impossible for the project to be

enriching and fulfilling.

EntrEprEnEurship and skill dEvElopmEnt

The Entrepreneurship and Skill Development training programme being taken up by

the SD TECHNO Services with the support of National Institute of Micro, Small and

Medium Enterprises has created a significant impact in the lives of the young people.

The need and demand based skill training programmes linked with Entrepreneurship

have been organized across 3 locations in Hyderabad, Medak and Mahabub Nagar with

adequate infrastructure and experienced faculty to facilitate the training sessions

effective.

Selection of the candidates is being taken up as per the norms of the ni-msme

applications from the unemployed youth were invited through news paper release.

SMS campaigning is also being taken up for this purpose. Personal interviews were

conducted for the short listed candidates. Based on the socio-economic standards,

qualification and interest of the candidate, 30 candidates in each batch were

enrolled.

The training programme include 150-300 hours of intensive practical oriented

trainings in selected courses at the rate of 30 trainees per batch for making each and

every participant to gain expertise in the trades. The qualified and experienced

faculties have paid emphasis on equipping the trainees handle tasks independently.

The training module involved classroom training and on-job apprenticeship in a

reputed firm.

While the classroom trainings have emphasized on providing theoretical inputs and

subject knowledge whereas the entrepreneurship development classes provided the

trainees inputs on how to establish and run business enterprises. Apart from this the

institution has also taken up employability skills training which involved

communication skills, time management, office etiquettes etc. Experts from MNC

companies have been invited as resource persons. This has helped the trainees to seek

appropriate entry-level positions in the relevant Industry with future potential.

Post training follow-up for a period of six months has been taken up by constituting a

Follow-Up Committee, which included two senior representatives from the SD

TECHNO services and a Programme Coordinator. The Committee has conducted

Follow-up meetings with the candidate at intervals of two months. During the follow

up meetings the Committee members carried out counseling towards establishing

their own enterprises, apart this trainees were also provided with job placement

assistance. At the end of six months the Committee has developed case studies of the

successful candidates who have taken up employment and self-employment through

the training programme of the institution.

Income Levels : 15,000 per month.

FAMILY BACKGROUND Suleman Ahmed Shareef hailing from a poor family consisting of 5 members in his

family his father is daily wage worker in vegetable market, he was the only earner

from the family his monthly income was very low. He wanted his children’s to settle

in their lives with some employment oppurtunities.

Suleman Ahmed Shareef came to know about nimsme conducting ESDPs free of cost

he consulted programme coordinator of SD Techno services after seeing the pamphlet

and joined electronic mechanic course. He has undergone hands on experience under

the support and guidance of the faculties and had acquired knowledge on repairing of

computer hardware parts such as SMPS, Motherboards, Monitors etc. fault finding of

all types of Electronics. While undergoing training he has been linked to a Sales and

Service Centre of Electronics nearby his home and started to gain experience.

PRESENT STATUS After completion of course, he has started his own mobile repairing shop by name

Mega mobiles at mehdipatnam near sarojini hospital, now he is earning 15000 per

month and took one trainee under him.

Name : Mohd Sajeed

Mohd Sajeed is aged about 32 years resident of Golconda, Hyderabad, he is married

and has two childrens but still he is very serious to improve his professional and

technical skills, he wants to be a good electronic technician, before joining this

course, he used to work as a office assistant, after completion of this course he got

the opportunity to work as electronic technician and implemented his knowledge gain

from ESDP programme from nimsme, and got good recognistion by his company now

he is leading a group of 8 technicians in his company i.e MAHALAKSHMI ELECTRONICS

(authorised service center for Philips electronics)

PRESENT STATUS After sucessfull completion of his course and certification sajeed got a job in

MAHALAKSHMI ELECTRONICS (authorised service center for Philips electronics) and his

salary is Rs 8000 per month.

FAMILY BACKGROUND

T. Nikesh is a business oriented person since his schooling and he always wanted to

start his own business and provides support to his family and give some employment

to unemployed youth. He hails from a poor family consisting of father, mother, two

sisters. His father, who is a former was barely able to support the family.

He came to know about ni-msme training programmes. He enquired about all courses

offered by ni-msme. He selected Electronic Mechanic course for trainee

mobile shops and service centres. Approximately he is earning 5000 per month.

FAMILY BACKGROUND Bitla yuva raju belongs to poor family of 5 members. His father daily wage worker and

his mother is housewife. He is less educated but he had great idea about the business

demand in the market. He is a versatile genius takes up various jobs so as to generate

income. He has hands on experience as an electrician. He also adept repairing TV,

radio,etc.

B Yuva raju looking to take up some vocational training which would help him to

polish his skills and gain perfection. He had very little theoretical knowledge. When

he heard that ni-msme was offering a job oriented training in the field of electrical

and electronics, he approached ni-msme training center and requested the counselor

for an admission in the ESDP in electrical gadgets repair. He successfully completed

the course and was awarded a certificate of excellence.

PRESENT STATUS

He started working as free lancer electronic technician and build up a network with

small repair shops and dealers and he is earning 4000 per month.

FAMILY BACKGROUND

P D Jude hails from a family of agricultural labourers and the family size is 4

members. He passed graduation and as his father became old, the family is expecting

Mr P D Jude to contribute something for the monthly expenditure.

CURRENT STATUS

Immediately after completion of the training programme, with guidance of SD Techno

services Hyderabad, he initiated the activities for opening a small venture. Without

minding the hardship, he started his unit within two months from the date of the

completion of the skill training programme in the name of NISI MOBILES AND

STATIONERY in his residential area.

FAMILY BACKGROUND

Erigi Babu was a graduate and he was the only son to his family. After completing

graduation he was on lookout for stable growing and high demand profession. His

father is very old and doesn’t work and mother is a house wife.

Erigi Babu came to know about the free training programme being offered by ni-msme

sponsored by the ministry of MSME, Government of India through peer group who were

already attending the programme. As he was a creative person, he showed a great

interest in electronics and computer hardware. So he grabbed this opportunity and

joined ESDP in Electronic Mechanic. He has successfully completed the training

programme and received certificate from ni-msme.

PRESENT STATUS

After completion of training, he is working at UNITED HEALTH CARE, PANJAGUTTA, as

a system administrator and earning monthly salary of Rs 10000.

Name : Y Taruna

FAMILY BACKGROUND

Y Taruna is from a middle class family her father is private employee with lower

income. Her education qualification B.Tech, she wanted to support her family

financially.

She was looking for an opportunity in mean time she came to know about the training

programme conducted by ni-msme through a local news paper. She decided approach

the organization for details. She met the programme coordinator and collected

information. She attended an ESDP in SQL DBA and completed it successfully.

PRESENT STATUS

After receiving a certificate from ni-msme, Y Taruna got a job in SERENE GLOBAL

SERVICES, JUBILEE HILLS, HYD. And drawing a salary 10000 per month.

Name : V. Manoj kumar reddy

FAMILY BACKGROUND VMK Reddy is a native of kukatpally, Hyderabad. Has done intermediate. His mother is

house wife and father is businessman. He is a very hardworking person from the child

hood onwords. He is always supported by his family.

He came to know about the training programmes conducted by ni-msme through a

local telugu news paper and pamphlets and decided to approach the organization. He

attended ESDP counselling programme being conducted free of cost by ni-msme,

under the ministry of MSME, he decided to join data base server administration

related courses for better carrier option. He opted for SQL DBA programme and

completed it successfully.

PRESENT STATUS VMK Reddy got the job in LENOVO SERVICES as a supporting engineer and drawing a

salary of 12000 per month.

Name : P Sai Shravan Kumar

FAMILY BACKGROUND Sai Shravan Kumar completed his school and college education in Hyderabad district.

He has Bachelors degree in computer science. He has a lot family commitments which

includes the education and marriage of two younger sisters. His mother is a house

He came to know about the training programme conducted by ni-msme through

friends and decided to approach the SD Techno services. He attended an ESDP

counselling programme being conducted free of cost by ni-msme, under the ministry

of MSME. He decided to join database server administration related courses for a

better carrier option, he opted for SQL DBA programme and completed it successfully.

PRESENT STATUS Presently he is working in NAC SOFTWARE SOLUTIONS, HITECH CITY, HYD. As a tech

support engineer. His monthly salary is 15000

MD Imran hails from a middle class family his father is a private employee, he

completed his graduation with B Tech, he always worried about how he could help his

father financially and at the same time, he was very keen on acquiring new skills.

news papers and decided to approach the organization. He approach the programme

coordinator and collected full information regarding the skill development

programmes. He decided to attend the ESDP in SQL DBA which was entirely free, he

has completed the course successfully and gained hands on experience on SQL

database server administration.

PRESENT STATUS After receiving his certificate form ni-msme, mohd imran got opportunity to work as a

executive in GOOGLE MAPS, HITEC CITY with a package of Rs 10000 per month.

different technical trades, so he approached SD Techno services and expressed his

interest in joining the SQL DBA course, he joined the programme and completed it

successfully.

After successful completion of training programme he got an opportunity to

participate in job mela conducted at ni-msme campus, where he got selected by the

AEGIS company for which he thanked ni-msme for giving training as well as providing

job.

PRESENT STATUS K Naveen Kumar is working as a customer service executive in AEGIS company

participate in job mela conducted at ni-msme campus, where he got selected by the

AEGIS company for which he thanked ni-msme for giving training as well as providing

job.

PRESENT STATUS K Aravind Kumar is working as a customer service executive in AEGIS company

Name : Md Jaffer Ali

Md Jaffer Ali completed his graduation. Like many other youth he was searching for

jobs, but he could not find suitable job. He came to know that NIMSME announced

free training course in PCB Designing through pamphlet. He applied and his

application was accepted. During training he got nice hold over the subject and skills

& certified. He has aspired to be sent to practical training to companies.

PRESENT STATUS

Jaffer Ali has been sent to PCB Designing companies in ECIL through references by SD

Techno services, where he started practicing as a apprentice and after 3 months of

practical experience now he started receiving small designing assignments from the

manufacturers and he is making around Rs. 8000 pm now.

NAME: YERRA BIXAPATHI

FAMILY BACKGROUND

Yerra bixapathi is an unemployed youth who was searching for the job since long time, he use to take up any private assignments in order to generate income to meet his daily expenses, he was almost dependant on his family, his family is a poor family where his father was a sole earner

While bixapathi went on a private assignment at one of his customers house, they were discussing about free nimsme training programmes which was printed in a local news paper, he took the contact details and approached the training centre organized by ni-msme with help of SD Techno services, he enquired about the courses with the coordinator and joined in mobile repairing course, during the training he got good hands on experience in repairs and maintenance of mobiles.

PRESENT STATUS

Yeraa bixapathi had setup his own shop at gajwel medak district by name BALAJI MOBILES taking a loan from one of his relatives of Rs.50000 and he is earning Rs. 6000-8000/- per month and his also repaying the loan to his relatives.

NAME: T. ASHOK

FAMILY BACKGROUND

Ashok hails from a middle class family, he managed to complete his studies till intermediate, his family consists of 4 sister’s mother and father, his father is private employee whose income is hardly sufficient to cater the needs of his family, he wanted to support his family by his earnings for which he was searching for jobs.

One day he came across with the press note issued by SD Techno services about the free training programmes on behalf of ni-msme in the local news papers, he approached the training centre at gajwel and applied for the mobile repairing course where he got admitted.

During period of one and half month he dedicatedly learned the mobile repairing skills, where he was able to repair and maintain different kinds of mobiles, he gained confidence and expressed his faculties to start his own service centre rather than working somewhere.

PRESENT STATUS

Ashok managed to mobilize the investment of about Rs 50000 from his well wishers and set up his own shop by name AYYAPPA MOBILES nearby to his residence at gajwel, his income levels are ranging from Rs 10000-12000 per month employing one assistant under him.

NAME : B SWAMY

FAMILY BACKGROUND

Swamy come from a poor family consisting of 2 brothers and 1 sister and they depend on his fathers income, his father salary not sufficient to run their family in smooth way so swamy decided to do something to help his father by searching jobs in news papers.

At that time he saw a press note/advertisement in local news paper about the free training programmes conducted by ni-msme through SD Techno services, swamy took admission in ESDP in mobile repairing by meeting all the eligible criteria of joining the course, over a stipulated time he was mastered the skills taught to him and become ready to take up challenges of repairing and maintenance of mobile phones during his training he expressed his willingness to establish a mobile phone service centre to his family members to which they positively encouraged him by mobilizing money for investment.

PRESENT STATUS

As a result of this he has mobilized Rs 40000 from his family members and started a mobile repairing centre. His monthly income is Rs 8000-10000 per month.

FAMILY BACKGROUND

Lingam aged about 25 years and completed his intermediate education, he hails from a poor family where their income was very less to cater the needs of the family. It was very embarrassing for a man to be unemployed and being a dependant on his parents he did not posses any technical qualifications.

One day he came to know about the free training programmes of nimsme through one of his friends who had already joined, he took his friend along to join the free training programme on mobile repairing, he applied and got admission.

The expert faculties at the institution turned down all his worries of becoming a successful mobile repairer by providing him timely support and guidance to do better and acquire skills after completion of the training he got good hands on experience of mobile phones and market.

PRESENT STATUS

Lingam has now started his own sales & service store “STAR ELECTRONICS” investing an amount of Rs 40000 by barrowing from their well wishers. His present income is Rs 7000-8000 per month.

FAMILY BACKGROUND

Venkatesh is resident of gajwel town, he lost his parants in his childhood days, he was brought up by his relatives and by living in government hostel and managed to study till SSC, after coming out from hostel he does not want to depend on anyone else so he started working in kirana store and stayed in a rented accommodation accompanied by bachelors.

Venkatesh has a strong desire to do something of his own by acquiring technical skills for which he was in search of good training institutes, one fine day while going through news papers he saw a press note released by SD Techno services about free training programmes on behalf of nimsme, he wanted to grab this opportunity for which he immediately approached training centre completed all his formalities of joining and started going regularly to the training sessions where faculties seen his anxiety and interest of learning for which they supported him by giving valuable inputs and technical skills, he also got good inputs in entrepreneurship and successfully completed his training.

PRESENT STATUS

By investing initially Rs 20000 for some tools and furniture, he started his own repair shop max mobiles at gajwel and started taking repairs of mobile phones and now he is earning of about Rs 5000-6000 per month.

Yadagiri is aged about 25 years and completed graduation, he hails from a middle class family, his family consisting of 2 sisters, 2 brothers, mother and father, where his father is a sole earner by doing agriculture farmer resides in a remote village in medak, district with lot of struggle yadagiri completed his graduation and started searching for the job but ended up with petty job, which never satisfied him either financially or mentally.

On a word of his friend he applied for a training course under nimsme and got an opportunity to enroll in mobile repairing course where he wanted to try his luck for the last time to settle down on some profession.

After getting enrolled into the training with the support of faculties, the faculties and training methodology of the SD Techno services, he found it easy to get acquaint with the skill in a professional manner. His continues effort and dedication for learning made him successful mobile repair technician.

PRESENT STATUS

Yadagiri started his own mobile repairing shop named LAXMI MOBILES at gajwel by investing Rs 50000 by mobilizing the funds from local cooperative bank and now he is earning about Rs 8000-9000 per month.

NAME :PRAVEEN KUMAR

FAMILY BACKGROUND

Praveen kumar aged 21 years and completed his SSC, he is from a poor family whose monthly

income not more that Rs.5,000/- a month, his father is a agricultural labour and mother is a

house maid with 2 younger brothers.

Praveen joined ESDP training in one of the Institutions of SD Techno services at gajwel by

watching a press note in local news paper.

He has undergone hands on experience under the support and guidance of the faculties and

had acquired knowledge on assembling, dissembling, repairing, fault finding and wiring etc of

all types of Electricals. While undergoing training he has been linked to expressed interest to

establish his own Electrical store

PRESENT STATUS

Soon after completion of the course he has been provided with adequate information and

linkages with the financial institutions, dealers to start his own Sales and Service Centre. The

Skill development training at under the ni-msme has opened avenues for the young people

like praveen who are trying hard to come of the lines of poverty by accessing skills in a

market and demand based trades. Praveen working as a free lancer now and earning Rs 5000-

6000 per month.

FAMILY BACKGROUND

Prabhakar aged 25 years hails from ahmadipur village in medak

district and he in search of livelihoods. He was one of the brilliant

students of the Institution, like other he also hailed from

the poor family background. Before joining the course he

was working as office boy in a showroom and could able to

earn more than 3000 – 4000 per month.

One day he came across a news paper advertisement issued

by SD Techno Services inviting applications for Electrical

gadgets repairing Course and has acquired expertise in the

trade, but he has shown interest in joining Service Centre

rather than working as EGR Technician.

PRESENT STATUS

After successful completion of training programme prabhakar started a small venture of repairing electrical gadgets by a small investment of Rs 40000, presently he his earning Rs 7000-8000 per month.

Satyapal reddy hails from a middle class family of 3 sisters and 1 brother, he and his family

members are dependent on his Father for their livelihood his Father works as a agricultural

interested in Electrical Gadgets Repair and started working in a small TV Show Room for

Ameeruddin is a Residence of Mirdoddi he came from a middle class family of 2

Sisters and 1 Brother he and his family members are dependent on his Father for

their livelihood as his Father works in a Private Company. As elder in his family he

also wants to help his farther and from starting also he is interested in repairing

and started working in a small Show Room for knowledge and earns 1500 per

month which was not sufficient to him nor his family then he started seeking for

other opportunities to earn more for his family

One day he saw an advertisement in local news paper by SD Techno and

immediately visited the institution and got registered into the course and completed

training successfully. During the follow up meeting he expressed that he wanted to

start his own Electrical servicing centre, he was encouraged and the follow up

committee members have provided him guidance to access loan.

Presently Ameer is working as a Free lancer at his home and earning 5000 – 10,000

per month. He is also planning to expand his shop to sales counter of some local

brands of televisions.

which is not sufficient so Nagaraju decided to work and help his Father stated

gadgets repairing course and over a stipulated time he has mastered the skills

taught to him and become ready to take up challenges of Market.

During the follow up meeting he expressed his willingness to establish a Servicing

centre in his place as he there is no other such mechanics are available. The Follow

up team members supported him to prepare project report for loan and also guided

him with all the procedures of getting loans. But not get any loan from bank.

As a result of this Nagaraju has received some amount from the relatives and

mobilized from his family members and started working as a Free lancer . His

monthly income is about 5000 –10,000 per month.
